Causes of Acne

Acne is a common skin condition that affects almost everyone. It is one of the most widespread medical conditions in the world today that over ninety percent of the world population is affected by it. Although acne is so common, the exact cause of its occurrence is yet unknown.

Numerous medical professionals have considered certain factors that may stand as the causes of acne. One of those possible causes of acne is the hormones. As you may know, during adolescence, the hormones known as androgens become active and kindle oil glands in your skin, increasing the oil production. With this process, the pores will then be clogged, causing pimples and blackheads. Many also have noted that hormonal changes, as one of the major causes of acne, that occur during the woman's menstrual period or when you start or stop taking birth control pills can also trigger the development of acne. However, there are certain birth control pills that are deemed necessary for treating acne.

Stress is also considered by some medical professionals as one of the possible causes of acne. Although certain evidences have shown that it doesn't actually cause acne to certain degree, stress will potentially increase acne as well as some other skin disorders you may have. In relation to this, diet is also deemed one of the potential causes of acne. Diet is considered as one of the causes of acne knowing that food allergies can trigger its outbreaks.

Other potential causes of acne are the genetic factors. Researches have found out that if you have parents or relatives who have bad acne, there is a great possibility that you too will suffer bad acne. Some people even concluded with this factor, you can't then control acne from coming.

There are some environmental factors that are deemed potential causes of acne. One of the possible environmental causes of acne is high humidity that results to swelling of the skin. Also included in the environmental causes of acne are the cosmetics you use especially certain moisturizers, foundation and pomades. Petroleum oils may also be another factor that triggers the occurrence and development of acne. And, the pressure from headbands and chin straps are also deemed possible causes of acne. Some possible causal factors such as skin rubbing, skin picking and squeezing, pollution, high humidity, and skin scrubbing may also trigger the formation and development of acne.

Well, maybe the real explanation for the causes of acne may be a complex blend of many of these factors. And, since there is really no concrete explanation on the real causes of acne, it is then better to spend our time finding a proven and effective treatment.
