Porn Problems - Why Spyware is so Prevalent in the Pornographic Industry

People are constantly wondering if porn generates more spyware and adware or if it is the other way around. Porn can completely hijack your computer if you are not careful. Even people who download something they though was not pornographic are at risk. This can be adware infested with porn that will take over your computer. There are more than thousands of programs for porn that can hijack your computer and have adware and spyware in them. Some will even go, as far as to dial 1-900 numbers to rack up a huge phone bill you will be responsible. Not many phone companies care whether or not you actually dialed the porn numbers as long as you pay. Pornware will flood you with adult content and pictures even if you are not on line. This can be a real problem if you have small children. The can change your homepage and force you to go to pornographic sites while browsing.

If you are being harassed by unwanted porn or it has stolen control of your computer, you can be assured you are infested with pornware. You will need to check your phone bills immediately if you find you are infected. Pornware is the most malicious and sickest type of spyware. It doesn't care that your four year old wants to see Disney's web site. It will show him or her things that are completely inappropriate and sometime illegal or frightening to children. Many times you will be infected with the porn pop-ups and porn dialers at the same time. These are special programs that porn vendors use to get money. The dialer will redial its number instead of your local Internet provider's number. You may not even be aware that your computer is doing this. The dialer can even copy itself into your start up location. You might get windows that pop up of women dressed scantily and even sometimes children when you restart your computer. Dialers don't actually spy on the user as much as they are just malicious by causing an outrageous phone bill.

Pornware spreads like most other types of spyware through Active X and Java vulnerabilities in the users computer. They can trick the user to believing they are some other type of program and not spyware at all. They can also be spread through spam and many porn sites are old domain space once used by another site. The will keep the domain name so when someone is looking for it they will get to their site first. The old site may have been a very high traffic family friendly site that is now being used as a gateway with its own Active X installers to take over your computer. This will turn computer into a porn gallery whether you wanted it or not. These pornware programs can be very aggressive and will give other malicious web sites the access and ability to infect your computer with more spyware or even worse. Trojans are another way to spread porn easily though the web. All it takes is to have vulnerability in your system and a porn Trojan can sneak in through an open port.

Even though this considered hijacking and spyware it is not considered illegal because the porn programmers hide behind Active X and Java security prompts. There are ways to get these malicious files off your PC and not have to deal with them again. Make sure that you have anti-virus and anti-spyware that run in real time. What this will do for you is not allow any malicious files to be loaded into your computer as long as the program is up and running. Even if you agree to download a specific program and have no clue that it was infected, it can cause problems. Your software will immediately scan it and not allow it to be installed on your computer. If you are already infested, get a good program and run a scan. This should rip the pornware right out of your system and registry. Your browser and home page settings will be put back to normal as well. The best way to not accidentally download porn will be to not browse the porn web sites. If you want to view adult sites, make sure your anti-virus and anti-spyware are running in real time and only go to sites you trust, if possible.
