Meditation School

Meditation School

Meditation has become a more popular form of practice that brings about inner peace and happiness. Because of its growing recognition all over the globe, many have taken the extra step of learning and knowing the practice. Learning the art of meditation is not as easy as one-two-three and cannot be learned overnight. It takes constant practice and discipline, but most importantly it takes a expert teacher of such practice to teach the ways and methods of doing it. Meditation schools all over the globe have been put up because of the growing demand for it from a lot of people looking for their own inner peace. Meditation schools differ because of the different practices or teachings one follow, some follow the way of Buddha, others of monks, and many more. Here are some meditation schools and what they teach:

School of Meditation

This meditation school teaches a technique that is simple and involves no demanding physical postures, chanting or complex mental procedures, and can be followed by anybody. The core of their technique is Mantra, a sound that you repeat silently to yourself bringing body, mind and spirit into a harmonious whole. The method is practiced for two brief periods a day sitting in a chair in any quiet place.

The School is its members and is run by those who meditate. It is a charity registered under the name of The Society for Spiritual Development. The school is based in London with groups in Barnstaple, Basingstoke, Boston, Bournemount, Chelmsford, Leeds, Salisbury, Sheffield, Stroud and Winchester. There are also groups in Holland, including Amsterdam and in Paris, Greece

Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School

The Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School is the name of a group of teachers, who run several independent schools in Scandinavia and Germany. The School is free of any commercial, political or religious interest. The Danish yogi Swami Janakananda founded in 1970 the Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School in Copenhagen as a non-profit organization. A very important element in the school is the deep-going yoga teacher education, which begins with the 3-Month Course at Håå Course Center in southern Sweden, and continues as a process, that gives you a solid personal experience of yoga and meditation.

Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment

This meditation school derives their teachings from Ramtha, an ancient warrior, conqueror, and ascended Master who lived 35,000 years ago. Remnants of his life and teachings exist in various archaeological artifacts from India and Egypt, as well as ancient Hindu literature. The four cornerstones of Ramtha’s teachings are: The statement "You are God"; the directive to make known the unknown; the concept that consciousness and energy create the nature of reality; the challenge to conquer yourself. Ramtha's School of Enlightenment has students from all over the world and all walks of life from six years of age to well into the golden years.

These are just some of the meditation schools that a person interested in learning deep meditation can choose from, the important thing to know is what you want to achieve and what practice you want to follow.
