The Best Hybrid Car Models For 2007

At the start of the year 2007, the public saw several new entries for hybrid car models. And by the look of things, some have strongly speculated that by the end of the year, a good number of these new entries could dethrone the Toyota Prius as current champ in hybrid cars.

That would be a mean feat, considering that the Prius was the hype for several years. These new hybrid car models are sleek and suave, with better promises of fuel economy ratings than the next car, that you might be glad on how you held on to your money for a bit longer. Here are the most “potentialed” inductees for 2007’s hybrid car models.

The Nissan Altima Hybrid 2007

This hybrid car model is Nissan first foray into the hybrid scene. Using the highly successful Altima design coupled with Toyota’s licensed hybrid technology, the Nissan Altima nothing but a pleasure to drive. It is powered by the same 198 hp, 2.5 liter DOHC 16-valve and 4 cylinder gasoline engine but combined with a full hybrid system for better fuel efficiency.

The Nissan Altima Hybrid is sleek and suave, from the leather interiors on the dashboard right to its chrome wheel plates. Its has a very easy start, like all electric hybrid cars. The alluring thought occurred to me, this hybrid car model won’t allow me to spend gas while I am still navigating towards the exit of the parking station. It runs perfectly fine on electric mode, and even spurts up a steep driveway no problem.

The Lexus GS 450h 2007

While a year back car manufacturers are busy formulating hybrid car models that sip less and lesser fuel, it makes one of the best surprises for 2007 the hybrid car models that speak of performance. That is the 2007 Lexus GS 450h, a racehorse that’s bred to perform but combined with a hint of fuel miserliness.

The Lexus GS 450h runs on 3.5 liters, 292 hp V6 engine that has 2-speed CVT with auto-manual. Combining the power of both engines, it can run at tremendous 339 hp and accelerates from standstill to 60 mph in around 5 seconds. It has an EPA estimate of 26 mpg, a big improvement to the last year’s hybrid car model at 21 mpg.

The Lexus is definitely a luxury sports car, which flaunts the best hypes of today’s car scenario: performance and the hybrid capability. Should you want an expensive symbol that shows your concern for the green planet, the Lexus GS 450h 2007 is definitely your ticket.
