Custom Motorcycles

Motorcycle enthusiasts love their motorcycles. They willingly put long hours of hard work in maintaining and decorating their machines.

But just like any enthusiast of a certain thing, motorcyclists desire to make their bikes different or even better than other bikes. Since motorcycles are mass produced and are similar in appearance or style when they are first purchased, many motorcyclists opt to customize their bikes.

Custom motorcycles are some of the best looking and high performance machines on the street. Motorcycles that are different from another one of the same kind or type are eye turners.

There are a lot of ways on how a motorcyclist can customize his bike. For example, he can change the stock metal frame or chassis to another one that is made out of aluminum or carbon fiber. Not only do these frames look good, they also make the motorcycle lighter.

Custom motorcycles often have wild paint designs. These designs are usually painted on fairings and mudguards. The most common ones include depictions of feathered eagles or flames. These motorcycles are rolling works of art.

Some enthusiasts who want to have their bikes and themselves look tough add huge rear tires that are usually designed for cars. Such custom motorcycles look spectacular and powerful looking. But require expensive, extensive modification to accommodate the added width and weight and change in position. This kind of modification is very costly.

But some custom motorcycles do not need major alterations to be different. Indeed, the addition of aftermarket accessories can significantly change the appearance of the bike, making it an eye turner.

An example for this would be the addition of neon lights. Small neon lights are placed in discreet places inside a motorcycle's fairing or frame. When activated, they emit a warm glow that looks cool and pleasant. A lot of colors of neon lights are widely available for the motorcyclists to choose from.

Some custom motorcycles have small stereo systems. On most of these bikes, the speakers are hidden discreetly. But on some, they are displayed prominently, enhancing the motorcycle's look. Most motorcycles do not opt for this modification since noise from all sides tends to drown out most of the sound coming from the stereo.
There are other ways to customize a bike. These include adding a lot of mirrors and flags, putting a backrest on the rear seat or adding non-functional but aesthetic, chrome plated looking exhaust pipes. The limit is the rider's imagination.
