You will want to think about the technology that you bring as well too. You may want to think about leaving the computer at home. You never know what will be said or what will happen at the airport since 9/11. This means you will want to take the time to see if others will be able to provide you with the equipment so that you can make a difference in the way that you travel. You can travel lighter and not have to worry about not having something to help you give a presentation.
Keep in mind that you will want to learn how to travel for work and not find it an inconvenience. It is the inconvenience not to know the rules.
