San Antonio College Of Medical And Dental Assistants

The San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants is one of the pioneers of allied health programs in the private career schools in the state of Texas. Founded on 1966, the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants begun operating on San Antonio and has trained thousands upon thousands of student into the medical and dental assistant careers.

The San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants then created a branch south of Texas, in McAllen on 1984. On November 1996, the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants was acquired by the "Educational Medical, Inc." (a medical institute company with head offices in Roswell, Georgia). Educational Medical, Inc. then changed its name into "Quest Education Corporation". And on July of 2000, Quest Education Corporation was purchased by "Kaplan, Inc.".

The San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants is accredited by various organizations in the United States. Its medical Assistant Clinical and Clerical Programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The other accreditations of the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants are: "Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology; "Texas Workforce Commission Career Schools and Veterans Education";
San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants is a member of "Better Business Bureau"; "Career Colleges & Schools of Texas"; "Career College Association"; "Computing Technology Industry Association"; and the "National Association for Health Professionals".

The San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants offer financial aid for qualified students and they also offer career placement assistance to their students who graduate. Their dental assistant program features a variety of administrative and clinical duties. They dental assistant program takers will learn the basic administrative duties like; completing patients' file information, insurance forms, appointment scheduling and answering the telephone. Taking vital signs, exposing and developing dental radiographs, making dental impressions or models, and other functions of a dental assistant is also taught in this program. They also offer medical assistant clinical and clerical programs. Under these programs, students are trained to perform the basic administrative clinical duties of a doctors office or clinic or other type of medical facility. Its graduates have the option to take a "medical assistant certification examination" and if they will pass, they will be a "certified medical assistant.

The San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants has fully equipped classrooms and laboratories to keep their students up to date with the latest in technology and knowledge in the program that they are currently enrolled.
