In fact, most of the tobacco production now comes from different parts of the southern hemisphere: wrappers mostly come from Ecuador, fillers are varying mixture of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican leaves and binded with a Connecticut broadleaf. Punch cigars are made by two separate production sites, one in Cuba operated by Habanos SA and the other one on the Honduras operated by General Cigars. Some say that the General Cigars licensing is only a means to skirt the trade embargo.
