Fur coats are marketed in a number of types. Each type possesses qualities and characteristics that are different from the others. Because of this variation, the price of each fur garment sold anywhere in the world these days greatly varies according to the fur coat types. Many of the fur coats are offered less than the original price, while there are others that are offered more than the maximum amount.

The fur coats types included the following:

* Mink - Mink is the most popular of all fur coat types. This fur coat is sold worldwide, and according to some reports, this product accounts for the majority of the retail fur sales in the United States. The mink fur coats are commonly considered for their softness and lightness. The mink furs are so soft and dense. They have a silkier feel and can be dyed for a wide range of colors. * Sable - The Russian sable is until now one of the most expensive fur coat types that are marketed nationally and internationally for its silky quality. Just like mink fur coats, the Russian sable comes lightweight and is rare because most of the sables are now protected in preserves.

* Beaver - Largely found in North America, the beaver is one of fur coat types known for their softness and texture. This type of fur coat is often sheared and dyed in different colors. They are also very durable, but they often come expensive because of the great quality the beaver brings.

* Muskrat - A wild fur common in North America, the muskrat is the type of fur coat that is commercially appreciated for its natural beauty. Unlike the other fur coat types, muskrat features unique shadings of natural colors, including brown, beige, gray and gold. This fur type if full and thick and is often sheared for a sporty and casual look.

* Fox - Known traditionally as the second most popular type of fur coat, the fox fur coat is now offered at a high price. Just like the other fur coat types, the fox fur comes in a number of natural colors and is found all over the world. This type is noted for its natural colors, as well as for its lustrous and thick hairs. Fox can also be dyed in a variety of colors, just like the other fur coat types.

* Raccoon - Truly an American animal and fur, the raccoon is marketed throughout the United States and the world at a pretty high amount. The fur comes in gray and black with silvery tips over a dense underfur. According to some reports, the best raccoon has a silky feel and the shearing even silkier. It can also be sheared and is durable just like the other.
