The name ‘Laser’ in laser printer could be a misnomer. It isn’t composed of a new science, which the coined term ‘laser’ usually connotes. What it composes, in fact, is the science of Xerography, a principle that is perhaps known in photocopiers.

In effect, the differences between laser printers and regular photocopiers are minimal. The only difference between them is the presence of laser in the laser printer which is used for scanning across the printer’s photoreceptors to construct an image.

The best thing about laser printers is its speed in producing prints and copies, an attribute just related to photocopiers. It also has, again like its derived technology a very low cost per print.

Such aspects about laser printers make them very useful for offices and businesses that require versatility and speed, as well as budget. It is remarkably fast, it can print colored documents at 4 pages per minute, and it can print a monochrome document at 20 pages per minute. It holds 375 sheets and hold 50 on the automatic feeder. The clarity of its prints is an object for boast: remarkable clarity with 1200 x 2400 dpi at 48-bit CCD technology.
