Free IL State Criminal Records

Free IL State Criminal Records

Perhaps the most obvious reason why private individuals or entities would like to get copies of
free IL State criminal records is that they pose a vital role during the hiring process. More and
more employers today are conducting or requesting for background or criminal checks on their
prospective hires. It seems that the pervading feeling is "what you don't known can hurt you."

Poor hiring practices can cost a company, resulting in productivity losses and thefts. Sometimes
even, at the extreme end, workplace violence may erupt, costing lives, damaging the company's
reputation, and depressing future earnings. Workplace-violence attorneys can attest to the fact of
the great loss a company may suffer due to its failure to conduct free IL State criminal records
checks. Legal expenses for negligence lawsuits for issues including negligent hiring, supervision,
security, training, and retention average $2.2 million. But what's even more devastating is not the
financial, but the loss of life that violence in the workplace can cause.

To minimize such risks, companies need to be more attentive to the way free IL State criminal
records and background checks are made. But the question is not whether a free IL State
criminal records check should be conducted. The question is where to find such important pieces
of information.

Fortunately for us, the Internet provides an excellent portal to websites where you can get access
to free IL State criminal records. Below are some of these sites.

ATF.Treas.gov - ATF Online

The Burea of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosiveser under the U.S. Department of Justice
keeps an online database of its most wanted individuals with outstanding charges. The database
spans all states and as such, this is also an excellent source for free IL State criminal records.

ATF Online is an initiative taken by ATF to combat violent crime in cooperation with other federal,
state, and local law enforcement agencies. The wanted persons on the ATF list are the result of
ATF criminal investigations, often in conjuction with other law enforcement agencies. These
investigations resulted in the issuance of a federal arrest warrant to subjects who fit the following
criteria: seriousness of the crime committed, past criminal record of the defendant, potential for
the defendant to be a dangerous menace to society, based on the current or past charges, and
belief that publicity afforded by the program will be of assistance in apprehending the wanted
person.

FBI.gov - Federal Bureau of Investigation

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has perhaps the largest database of free IL State criminal
records as well as those from other states. The name of this database is the National Crime
Information Center. However, the problem with this is that the information it contains is
considered confidential, and therefore, not accessible to the public. What it does have is a public
list of most wanted people. You can use this list as basis for your free IL State criminal records,
too.

Idoc.State.IL.us - Illinois Department of Corrections

The Department of Corrections is an excellent source of free IL State criminal records. Here you
can perform an inmate search of free IL State criminal records and find out detailed descriptions
of a crime committed in connection with a particular inmate case.
