Speed Reading In How To Achieve
Self Help
You can speed read if you choose to do so. If you are sitting around waiting for someone else to teach you how to speed-read, you are loosing tract of time.
Hi, I am a self-taught speed-reader who can brisk through any type of material complex or simple with ease. What I do is look for relating words, or words, which I can associate with while reading. If I read a sentence that makes no sense at all to me, I do not downgrade the author; rather I check my comprehension skills. What do I understand?
This has happen time again. I have heard people claim writing is obscure in some materials that these people could not relate or understand what the author was saying. The fact is the author is on track, the reader needs to build comprehension skills. To help you see how this works we can consider.
Example:
Mary stood on a bridge with intent in mind, while she peered down at the streaming waters trapped her inside, she felt compelled to jump.
Now, you may think Mary is suicidal. You may think that Mary stared down at the waters and felt confused as to what she wanted to do. The fact is Mary is standing on a bridge looking down at the streaming waters, wandering what she needs to do in a situation that she stands in presently.
Mary could be in a relationship without a way out. Mary could be struggling in school, at home, and so on. On the other hand, Mary could be preparing suicide. What can we make of the information? If you speed-read and find little comprehension, you may want to check your ability to scope the area (ideas) to see where you stand. We can break this sentence down to see what is on Mary's mind.
Mary stood on a bridge with intent in her mind. What intent did she have in mind? While she peered down at the streaming waters…She is looking off a bridge into the streaming waters, which means the water is flowing… trapped her inside? What trapped her inside? Was it the streaming waters? Was it a state of affairs she was unable to relate to, she felt compelled to jump. Did she feel compelled to jump off the bridge? Did she feel compelled to jump on the problem and find a resolve? What was on Mary's mind?
Checking your comprehension of what you read can help you to read faster and easier through content, or is it context?
Content: subject matter: subject: satisfied: happy: comfortable: please:
Context: background: circumstance: situation: framework: perspective: milieu: environment:
Now, you decide what an author writes. I often hear people online asking for “original content.” Should they consider what they comprehend?
A writer will give you background, circumstance, situation, framework, perspective, environment, and milieu.
Who is going to give you content? Well, a quality writer is going to make you happy with context they deliver. I have loads of fun with people, because one thing they often fail to do is verify the facts, which leads them to true definition. Now, if you want to speed-read, start with definition.
Definition gives rise to meaning, description, explanation, classification, characterization, and designation. Definition is what makes you sharp enough to read as fast you as you choose to read. Definition also makes room for clearness, as well as exactness.
Comprehension is merely the way you understand, grasp, acknowledge, command, and concept your intellectual capacities. Anyone can do that, now let me here you define.
