When you set your mind to read fast you are taking the first step to read fast. The power within us gives us the ability to tell self what we want to do. Once we have mindset we can move toward action. Action speaks louder than words. In each story you read is meaning. While many writers tell similar stories, what the writers do is use the process of elimination to give you clues and answers. Through phrases, you will find answers and clues. Thus, seeking throughout the material you read, searching for phrases can help you get a grip on purpose and meaning.

The words come as phrases in paragraphs, yet the phrases give us power. The power is the influences behind the phrases. For instance:

Reasoning and searching for chief phrases can help you find answers to nearly any test questions.

We can break the paragraph down to spot the answer. First, monotony is least likely the answer, since schools often provide tasks to complete. Thus, where is the room for boredom? Success standards are not truly dropping, since many people successfully graduate from school, head to college, and start working thereafter. Economics is not truly the answer either, since school and government funding often fund those low on income, thus helping them to achieve. Thus, reasoning we see that influences outside of the school may be responsible for increasing drops in school attendance.







The point is when you have understanding, meaning, purpose, mindset, goals, plans, and the like you can learn to read fast by spotting phrases that give you hints to the stories answers.

One thing you want to keep in mind while learning to speed-read, is that always select materials that will produce easy reading. If the material is complex, thus it will slow you down and frustrate your mind. After you advance in speed-reading, you can then move onto reading complex materials.

While learning to speed-read, also keep in mind that to comprehend is essential in reading materials. If you lack comprehension to meaning, likely you will have difficulty reading as well. Still, the more you practice speed-reading, the more your comprehension level will increase. Now, we can move to a test to check your reading speed, as well as your comprehension level. As for my comprehension level, I see that if I recognize symptoms of stress, I have a fighting chance and minimizing my stress. Yet, I need to discover how stress can be my friend, instead of my enemy.
