Low Transmission Power Is The Key To Efficient Bluetooth Connection

The Bluetooth wireless technology is also a networking system that does not depend on huge amounts of energy and user control. By maintaining the transmission power at a very low 1 milliwatt, Bluetooth is perfect for almost all devices that are operated by batteries. Furthermore, this wireless technology can automatically identify and connect with other Bluetooth-enabled devices without any input by the user.

The Bluetooth wireless technology basically relies on radio frequency and protocol software. These two methods enable any Bluetooth device to communicate with another Bluetooth-enabled device. These devices can send out signals under a controlled transmission power at a certain distance. It also allows various Bluetooth devices to connect under certain measures like the size of data that will be transmitted, the communication type between devices and the frequencies wherein the communication will occur to prevent interferences. Still, these measures will depend on the level of transmission power.

Low signal transmission power is the major communication mode in the Bluetooth network system. Generally, Bluetooth devices range from 2.402 GHz to as much as 2.480 GHz of frequency that complies with ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) devices.

There are a lot of ISM devices like wireless phones, garage door openers and two-way radios that cause interference with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. To prevent this from occurring, Bluetooth devices use only 1 milliwatt of transmission power. Even though the transmission power is very low, this is very strong and effective in transmitting signals to other Bluetooth devices within a certain range of approximately ten meters or 30 feet limiting the risks of interference from nearby ISM devices.

Bluetooth devices that are communicating within a personal network area or piconet basically integrate and synchronize their frequencies to stay connected. Using specified addresses or range, they can create different piconets because of low transmission power rate avoiding interference from other devices.

The specified addresses instruct these Bluetooth devices to respond to the other device within the address range that is within 1 milliwatt of transmission power. This is programmed to boost the level of data and signal transmission efficiency.

Since all devices within a piconet is integrated and synchronized, the chances of having two piconets interfering with each other is minimal because of low transmission power constraints in Bluetooth devices.

A Bluetooth device can connect with more than one device at a time within its radius of transmission. Bluetooth devices can randomly pick frequencies at low transmission power each second to connect because the main objective of this wireless technology is to avoid the risks of interference in data transmission.
