How A DIY Camera Bag Is Done

Photography can be a really high end profession or hobby. Photographers need to carry other equipments related to or extending to the camera. The camera itself and the add ons are expensive. This makes most photographers resourceful. Aside from the fact that it saves them a lot of money, DIY camera bags can be designed to be stealthy enough to prevent from catching the attention of would-be thieves. An expensive looking bag may be a favorite target among thieves.

So how to do a DIY camera bag? Select from a wide variety of camera bag shells. It has got to be flexible enough for you to be able to make adjustments with it. A tote bag from a businessman or laptop bag will work fine. These bags will make great DIY camera bags due to their design. Adding cushions and paddings will help protect and hold the camera.

Padding is also an important aspect to any camera bag. It keeps the camera inside from colliding or breaking. You can use either cell foam or styrofoam. You can also opt to purchase affordable camera padding that is sold separately from the bags.

For DIY camera bags, you can use craft foam and ripstop nylon. Cut the foam to fit around your camera inside the camera bag. Then be sure to measure the nylon and cut it so in a way that it will be slightly larger than the foam. Sew them and insert the foam into the nylon. Sew using a hidden stitch and attach the Velcro using fabric glue to the inserts. This will hold the foam in place. Now you have a DIY camera bag!
