Should You Wear Headphones On Or Around The Ear?

There are four styles that headphones can be found in. For anyone that really loves to listen to music it can come down to two different types.

Circum-aural

This will have pads that sit around the ear or supra-aural

It will also be found with pads that sit directly on the ear.

Both of these choices have their good and bad points about them. It is going to be up to what you are able to pay for your headphones.

A supra-aural headphone is going to let the consumer feel the instrument playing next to the ear with great clarity. The sound may be different to some people since most of us are used to a more muffled like sound.

With the circum-aural headphone the sound will be a bit muffled and is going to have a natural feel to it.

You can picture yourself sitting in a concert all. You are going to feel as if you are sitting right next to the instrument that is being played.

The choice is up to you and what you can fit into your budget.

There is also the headphone that is mostly used in a recording studio. This is most likely a full sized circum headphone that will have a soft material on the ear pads to help keep out sound.

Some headphones have a built in switch that will cut the sound off when the headphone is pulled off your head. This is a great feature for a recording session.

It depends on what your preference is going to be and what you like the most. Think about comfort first so that you have the headphones that you can be happy with the most.
