DVD Digital Home Cinemas Are Soon Going To Be Obsolete

You were probably so excited the day you bought your DVD digital home cinema. You had quality picture, sound and you truly felt as though you were right there in the middle of it all. All the action, drama, all your favorite movie stars; it was like having a movie theater right in your living room. However, your DVD digital home cinema that you spent so much money on is soon going to be obsolete. That's right. It seems like just yesterday that the DVD format came out. But, just like VHS and Beta, you will soon find that stores don't carry them. Blu Ray is now becoming the in thing and movies aren't going to be manufactured in DVD format in a year or two. However, if you already have an HD ready digital home cinema, you will be able to get rid of your DVD player and you can hook up a Blu Ray player to it and you'll be good to go.

Nobody Told You?

The announcement actually just came out a few months ago that DVD digital home cinemas were going to be obsolete. This was on the heels of all the X Box and other game systems selling out that played the DVD format. The Playstation 3 was the only game system to play Blu Ray and everyone wondered why that was. Well, it seems that the other game systems will also become obsolete unless they can provide a Blu Ray add on. So if you have a DVD digital home cinema, it looks like you may only have a year or two left before it becomes irrelevant. Sure, you can still play all of your old movies on your DVD digital home cinema but if you want new movies, you may be out of luck.

What To Do?

You can always shop for a new system. Or, you can utilize your DVD digital home cinema for as long as possible. Because there are still new DVDs coming out all the time. And mail rental companies such as Netflix are still dealing in DVDs, at least for now. So enjoy your DVD digital home cinema for as long as possible. You never know, Blu Ray may be obsolete in a few years as well as a new technology comes out. New technology does come out, usually every six months. So don't react too irrationally. Enjoy what you have and enjoy that ultimate home theater experience. You paid all that money for it so you might as well get the most out of it while you still can.
