60GB IPOD Video Photo 5th Generation
60GB IPOD Video Photo 5th Generation
If you ever seen the newer Ipods you could compare it to the older versions, including the 60 Gigabyte (GB) 5th Generation copy and you would see that it is a big difference. The older fifth Generation Ipod Photo was made by Apple and this device came through a product video line.
The fifth Generation Photo Ipod utilized a PC Interface cable, or rather a USB 2.0 connector. The display capabilities offered multi-colors and images, while its memory compatibilities were limited. The device held up to 60 Gigs of storage space, and the memory was functioning off a hard drive alone. You were offered with this Apple Ipod folder support, address book, tuner, FM stereo, Karaoke, tuner, games, video, integrated speakers, playback and more. Wow, I haven't heard one report about the newer versions offering Karaoke.
The older version, specifically the fifth generation versions will cost you a pretty penny. While the newer versions cost a small fortune, you will pay a lot more for this copy. Why Apple decided to upgrade to newer copies is beyond me, since this copy since to be an original marking.
The fifth generation Ipod, like today's Ipods enabled you to watch video clips, movies, play games, listen to tunes, download files and so forth all from a cable. At this time, I am not sure how much battery life this device offered, however, it seems that it would offer more than the newer versions since it had more features.
The newer Ipods, including the Nano Photo seems to be smaller and thinner than the fifth generation version, which makes me wonder how it could offer more features than these copy of Apple's Ipod.
Give me a minute. I am going to locate the owner of a fifth generation Ipod and learn more so that we can figure out why we need to buy a newer version. I like specifics, accuracy, and facts before writing down any information.
It seems that the fifth generation Ipod photo was marketed as an MP3 portable player rather than an Ipod. You could also buy the product with 30 gigabytes or 60, which ever you preferred. The MP3 Ipod had a decoding audio system built on a chip, along with a dual MHZ 80 ARM Processor. You also received a Broad-com Video-Core processor as well as a decoder with this generation Ipod.
The generation Ipod seems to have a quality unfavorable to the users, which the FireWire will not charge either device, rather synchronize. The Nano version has a headphone jack at the bottom, while the fifth generation had the jack situated on the top of the player. Still, you had output for audio and video, as well as an S-video output for data and audio. The device came in a stainless steel casing and support was available at a low cost.
Apparently, you had navigation buttons, fonts, and the ability to synchronize sounds. You could use the television to synchronize if you choose to do so, as well as synchronize on the Ipod itself. The fifth generation Ipod Photo seemed to offer more, since you had playback options, and could listen to sounds or watch movies as long as three hours. The formats included playback on MPEG4 or H.264, and you could download more than 7000 songs on a single drive in AAC formats. This is the encodes by the way.
This device was offered in the early months of October back in 2005. The device also had DRAM, which was built-in to its unit. The motherboard was either 32 or 64 and held maximum RAM of 32 or 64.
