Ipod tricks: Making the most out of iPod

The iPod has changed the face of portable media players because aside from playing music it can do a range of tricks depending on the model. These iPod tricks are in addition to the existing features of a particular model so you can look forward to more exciting experiences when you learn more iPod tricks.

What are iPod tricks like?
Most of the tricks you'll discover on an iPod relates to its existing features which are music, video, photo, radio, voice recording, internet connection, and those generally found in the main menu. Then, you can simply work around these features to find those tricks. There are many websites managed no less by so-called digital "gurus" who provide tips in achieving various iPod tricks. Other types of tricks aim to improve the look (wallpaper) of your screen and the icons on it.

So if you're dreaming that your iPod can do more than just play music, read on as we feature some cool iPod tricks and tips to make your iPod experience more fun-filled.

Trick #1: How to work around restrictions in copyright
Are you aware that the tracks you "buy" from the iTunes Music Store are simply rented? Apple still holds the right for these songs, which includes limiting the number of computers to play them in and they are restricted to play only on an iPod. The work around is to burn the songs to your CD (thus changing the file format from AAC to CD) which removes the DRM encryption. Then, you may use the audio file how ever you want. If you don't want to go into such trouble, you may simply purchase DRM-free tracks for $1.29 to get away with this copyright.

Trick #2: How to create a number of iTunes
The iPod has become one indispensable device among many American families which makes sharing PCs inevitable. Yet, with all certainty each member of the family would want to have their own set of songs in their iPods. So how do you work around this trick? The answer is to create multiple libraries for each iPod. The iTunes version 7 software allows you to do just that, but this procedure should not be divulged.

First, close the iTunes software and hold down the shift key then double-click on an iTunes icon to reopen it. You will see a new dialog box instead of the usual program running. Select "create library" so you can begin making multiple libraries.

The iPod was created as a media player but a handful of iPod tricks can make this device a worthy companion, whenever and wherever.
