A Guide To iPod Video with Tips and Tricks
IPods are gadgets or devices that enable users to download music, videos, games and more. The iPods are
neat little gadgets that enable users to carry the device in a pocket or hand, while having the advantage of
watching favorite movies, listening to tunes, or playing games anywhere, they choose. To help you
understand iPods, and how the devices work, we have composed a series of articles, which includes a
beginner's guide. Apple is one of the first iPods that came on the market, yet many companies followed
pursuit once they realized these devices had something to offer the community, yet Apple is the prime
manufacture. In this report we are going to start you out with a brief history of iPods and then walk you
through the details of how the iPods are used, including how the converter software works.
A brief history of Apple's iPod
iPod or as I would like to call it Apple's 'interactive or intelligent Portable Device' has transformed the way
people now listen to the way people listen to music on the move. The days are not far when the bulky old
walkmans which once changed the face of how people listened to music would be found only in antique
stores and museums. Apple has sold close to 50 million iPods since its launch in Oct 2001. Despite the high
cost of an iPod as compared to other portable music devices, its utilities have left all competition behind
struggling to find a place for themselves. It all began when a former Philips employee and currently senior
director of iPod & Special Projects Group at Apple, Tony Fadell recognized the need for a more portable
music device, which we today know as iPod.
Nevertheless, since the launch of first iPod it has not undergone any major change in its looks. Although
Apple has constantly been trying to bring down it is the size and increase the features including its music
capacity.
Apple currently markets three distinct players bearing the iPod name. Some models come with different
capacities or with different designs. The model range includes:
? iPod (30 GB and 60 GB).
? iPod nano (1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB).
? iPod shuffle (512 MB and 1 GB).
The iPod mini (4 GB and 6 GB and in various colors) are now discontinued, having been replaced by the
iPod nano. The Harry Potter 20 GB Collector's fourth-generation iPod has been replaced by the Harry Potter
30 GB Collector's iPod, which is simply a fifth-generation iPod with a Harry Potter engraving and the Harry
Potter audio books pre-loaded.
Several product revisions have taken place since the original model of iPod appeared, leading to the
existence of five distinct generations. As with most hard drive-based devices, the actual drive space
available for music, photo, and video and data storage does not quite attain the advertised capacity. For
example, a 4 GB iPod mini actually had 3.77 GB of usable storage. This is due to iPod's firmware, which
eats up a little space of the memory.
iPods can be classified broadly into its five generations namely first, second, third, fourth and the most
recent fifth generation.
First Generation iPod:
The first iPod was launched on Oct 23, 2001 with a 5 GB capacity with a price tag of $399. Critics all over
said that the price would bring an instant death to iPod, but only to be proven wrong. In addition, as opposed
to the point of view of critics iPod was an instant hit quickly overtaking the then prevalent hard drive mp3
players such as Nomad Jukebox. Later in march, 2002 Apple introduced the 10 GB capacity iPod with a
price tag of $499.
These iPods look much the same as those today except for the push buttons instead of the touch buttons
around the circumference of the central select button. In addition, the central button was a mechanical scroll
wheel as opposed to later generation's non-mechanical touch and click button.
In addition, the first generation iPods were only Mac compatible, which meant that it was incompatible with
Microsoft Windows enable PCs. Only Apple's Mac computers could be used to transfer songs to iPod then.
Second Generation iPod:
The second-generation iPods were launched on July 17, 2002 at Macworld Conference and Expo, a
tradeshow dedicated to Apple's Macintosh platform. Two models were launched with 10 GB and 20 GB
capacities. The major change was the replacement of the mechanical scroll wheel by the non-mechanical
touch and click button termed as a "touch wheel." Although the size remained more or less the same, the
second-generation iPod also had carrying case, wired remote and was compatible with Microsoft's
Windows.
Third Generation iPod:
The third generation iPods were launched by Apple CEO Steve Jobs himself on 28 April 2003 as the
"ultrathin" iPods. These iPods were slimmer and smaller than their predecessors were and had nicely curved
edges. Except for the cheapest iPod, the rest came bundled with a charger called Dock Connector. This was
used for charging the batteries. This was longer and flatter than the FireWire plug. During the course of third
generation iPods Apple launched models with memory ranging from 10 GB to 40 GB.
The noticeable change in third generation and the rest of the iPods is that unlike all the rest it did not have
any buttons surrounding the central wheel. Instead, there were touch buttons right below the screen with
backlighting which enabled easy use even in dark.
Another feature that Apple introduced with the third generation iPod was that there were no separate iPods
for Mac users and Windows enabled PCs. Instead, all iPods were now shipped with their hard drives
formatted for Macintosh use and came along with a CD-ROM which featured a Windows utility which could
reformat them for use with a Windows PC. These iPods also introduced Hi-Speed USB connectivity for the
first time though they still could not be charged using this USB drive.
As such, it was the third generation iPods, which actually started the iPod revolution sending the sales
skyrocketing.
Fourth Generation iPod:
The news of fourth generation iPods was released by Steve Jobs himself through press interview with
Newsweek magazine. The fourth generation started what can be termed as the 'iPod craze'. iPod became a
fashion symbol with various celebrities promoting the then latest iPod including the rock band U2. The fourth
generation iPods came in 20 GB and 40 GB capacities.
The major changes in the fourth generation iPods were the buttons, which were again like the second
generation iPods surrounded the central click wheel. There were no backlights but the well-designed buttons
took care of it. In addition, the battery offered a higher life of about 12hours and could now be charged via
the USB port.
On 28th Oct 2004 iPod photo was launched which featured a 65k color screen and ability to store images in
various formats like JPG, BMP, GIF etc. along with music files.
By the end of June 2005, Apple removed all its monochrome iPods from production line and lowered the
prices of most of the models by removing all the bundled up accessories except for the headphone and the
USB cable.
iPod also updated iTunes to version 4.9 during this time, which added podcasting capabilities to iPods, and
iTunes.
Fifth generation iPod:
The fifth generation iPods were unveiled on 12 Oct 2005 at the event "One more thing…" This iPod is
generally referred to as iPod video. Fifth generation iPods are available in two models of 30GB and 60 GB
memory priced at two, 99, and $399 respectively. For the first time the iPods were launched in two colors,
white and black.
They can play movies in MPEG-4, H.264 and MOV formats in varying resolutions depending upon codec
used and other specifications. Fifth generation models have a 65k (16 bit) color QVGA TFT screen. The
videos on these iPods can also be seen on a TV using the USB cable however the quality may not be as
good as those of normal TV programs because of the highly compressed formats used with iPods. The
compression saves space but also has an adverse effect on the quality of image. The buttons are more or
less the same except for a little resizing being done in order to make the diameter of the surrounding buttons
a little smaller to about 1.5".
With the introduction of iTunes version 6.0.2 iPods are now not only podcast enabled but also vodcast
(video –podcast) enabled where for a weekly or monthly fee one can see certain video programs. The latest
iPods have certainly created a revolution in the music and media industry by opening up an avenue to
exploit along with the traditional television, radio, and internet.
Sixth Generation iPod:
Although not officially announced it is expected to be a multi-purpose touch screen device, which could
either, act as a handheld PDA or a mobile phone or maybe even a camera fitted iPod… Well who knows
what it may be like…? Nevertheless, it sure has left people guessing. Now we can look at the beginners
guide to iTunes and PDF.
A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO iTunes and PDFs
iTunes is still known as a music management program to most of us till date, but recently Apple has added a
few exciting features that will allow iTunes to organize your movies and books too. These features have
been designed in order to allow music store to sell not only music but also movies and other such stuff.
Above all, all these features can be used to enhance one's own music library too.
WHAT ARE PDF FILES?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format and was developed by Adobe in the late 90s.It was developed to
compress otherwise bulky documents and books, magazines etc into smaller and readable formats
compatible with most of the PCs.
After announcing the iPod U2 Special Edition in collaboration with the rock band U2, Apple released a
"Digital Box Set" of U2's back catalog called The Complete U2 on October 26, 2004. This was the first
iTunes musical offering that included a "digital booklet," which Apple called it for the PDF version of a CD
insert, and the company enabled iTunes to download and store the digital booklet alongside the rest of the
U2 collection.
Since that date, Apple has released several albums with this type of addition, including Cold play's recent X
& Y, Bruce Springsteen's Devils & Dust, the Black Eyed Peas' Monkey Business, and Faith Hill's Fireflies
among others. Anyways Apple is doing everything that it can to attract more customers to buying music
online rather than from the nearby music stores. The digital booklet appears at the beginning of the list, and
no time/duration is shown. In addition, its bit rate is "Unknown."
These PDF files can be viewed very easily by double clicking at the file containing the digital booklet. Then
you can print these booklets if you want to or simply view them on your PC's screen.
While digital booklets display together with their album, iTunes won't copy them automatically to your iPod,
since the iPod cannot display them. You can however, copy them to any location on your iPod or to any
folder on your computer. Well not only can iTunes but also even you can add PDF files to your digital
booklet. For example, you can add the following information in PDF format:
* Album notes that you have scanned
* CD inserts for music you have imported
* Lyrics for your favorite music
* Guitar tabs
* Band or orchestra information
* Photos
* and, of course, more…
You can do this by simply creating a text file and then converting it to PDF format or by scanning text or
images and then converting it to PDF format and then you can store it on you PC in the digital booklet file.
To ensure that PDFs are stored with the specific album to which they belong, you must put them in their
proper place as you do for any music file. To do this, select the PDF file, then select File Get Info. Here
you will see digital booklet is listed with the appropriate artist, album, and genre tags.
Organizing PDF Files
While you can organize your PDF files by setting their tags to match their albums, you can also create play
lists with them by dragging them to a manual play list, or by making a smart play list that looks for PDF files.
To do this, create a smart play list with one condition: Kind Contains PDF. With this kind of play list, you can
also store the lyrics and other information about the band.
Therefore, what's waiting u, it's just going to take a few minutes, and all the information about your favorite
bands will be there the way you've always wanted to.
Video Ipod Converting Tips and Tricks
Some of the innovative software and tools available today that will help you convert files is the
Videora iPod Converters. The converter is a free application that works with iPod Video devices.

iPods is becoming a popular item, since many people can download movies to a handheld device and watch
the movies anywhere. IPods also enable people to download music and listen to the sounds anywhere they
choose. The software available today makes it easy to convert videos by ripping and burning the videos to a
DVD. It depends on the software converter, but most provide systematic steps. Children love the iPod's

to have a copy of movies, video games, or music before downloading. The software converter programs
come complete with all the tools you will need to get started downloading videos, music, or games. Most
software programs provide systematic instructions, which guide you through the steps. This article is merely
a rewritten version of the instructions on a variety of software converters to help you move along.

to download files. Most times the file formats are video/movie formatted.
The conversion software enables you to download favorite movies, videos clippings, and games from a
DVD, burning to your iPod. It's similar to a portable player.
Some converters work with various formats, including MPEG, which is the most common, AV, iPod Movie,
DivX, Xvid, MOV, dxr-ms, WMV, and iPod video format. Few iPod software converters have powerful movie
and video converters with advanced sole-processor transferring formats and swift converter speed.
Requirements
The requirements of most software converters include, Windows XP/Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows
2000, and Windows 2003 Server. You might need DirectX 8.0 and up, at least 32 Megabytes (MB) or RAM
(Random Access Memory) or higher, and a VGA Card, or MMX-Enhanced Central Processing Unit (CPU),
or powerful.
Features
Some software iPod converters have features that enhance picture, sound and download time. Some of the
converters will support WMV, DivX, MOV, XviD, Dvr-ms, AVI, rmvb, rm, or iPod MP4 video formats. The
same software converter or other converters may support iPod videoing size H.264, up to 768. Other
features may include Drag and Drop support, UI skins, and more.
To download the software you merely locate the converter you wish to employ, click on the download button,

favorite games.
The ideal of iPod converters is to have easy steps in converting your video formats into a video file. Most
files are supported by AVI, VOB, MPEG, ASF, RM, WMV, DivX, and ASF. ID3 files can be automatically
converted by editing and adding the files. The converters enable you to download more than one file at a
single time. The converters make it easy to drop and drag more than one file from Windows Explorer.
Ipods have been around for some time now, however today iPods are people's favorite pastime toys, since
the device enables them to enjoy music, games, or videos at any location. Now what if I told you that you
could get iPod movies and videos at affordable costs at new websites just launching:
Ipod Movies and Videos at an Affordable Cost
Few of the Internet owners are launching websites that will deliver more than 600 iPod articles for only
$19.95. How wonderful it will be to get 600 articles for a low cost even if the user likes only portions of the
movies. This equals out at 3 cents per movie. You heard me; you will pay around 3 cents per copy!
Most areas online are offering downloads at a price affordable to all, yet when you can purchase around 600
articles for less than twenty bucks what more can you ask for. The iPods are making it easier for everyone
owning the device since now they can download favorite movies, games, and music anywhere at anytime.
In case you are wondering, iPods are handheld devices where you can connect to computers, game
systems and more while listening to music, watching movies, or playing video games. The system is similar
to a handheld stereo system, yet equipped like a DVD portable movie player.
IPods are great little devices, yet some of the software programs make it easier to download sounds,
movies, or video games. It is illegal to download any music, videos, or games, which you do not own an
original copy of, therefore only, download those versions for your safety.
Few of the sites offering 600 iPod movies for less than twenty bucks are making it easy also, since now you

Movies and Videos on iPods for pennies
Wouldn't it be really great if you could watch a movie on your iPod for as low as 3 cents?
No, it's no joke a lot of websites have been launched that are now offering almost 600 movies
for less than $20. Now that's a deal you would not like to miss.
The iPods have made our lives definitely easier by allowing music downloads movies, games,
and music videos from various online stores at prices really down to earth. First, iPod put
music in your pocket. Now it has put videos and images. With support for up to 15,000 songs
and up to 150 hours of video on a 2.5-inch QVGA color display, iPod gives you the ultimate
music experience. iPods are available in two colors- white and black.
The real point is that even if one doesn't really like all of the 600 movies and videos it's still a
steal at even 60 movies and videos. It's still far lesser than what you might end up paying for
purchasing or renting these.
Well just in case you still don't have clue to what an iPod is, it can be said as the walkman of
21st century. You no longer need to carry those bulky Cassettes, or CDs and batteries to listen
music on the move. It has an inbuilt memory ranging from about 128mb (Approx 30 songs) to
60 GB (approx 15000 songs). And all this in an unbelievably compact size. You can even watch
movies and videos in the newer versions of iPod. And above all, you don't need to carry or buy
batteries every now and then because iPods come with a rechargeable battery and charger.
All the online stuff can be viewed directly on your Ipod by transferring it using a data cable or
otherwise you can connect it to your computer and watch it on the bigger screen. With iPod
you ca watch your favorite movies, watch movie previews and your favorite TV shows that you
might have missed while you were, busy with your work.
How do I download movies?
Well first of all, you'll have to download your service provider's software and then fill up a
registration form. Well as soon as you finish this, you can start watching movies on your iPod.
With the right device on you can listen to podcasts, radio stations, and itunes and a lot more
stuff. Also, don't forget to go through the previews listed on your service provider's website to
make a faster decision for the movies and other stuff you might want to download. So why
wait. Go ahead and start downloading…
Ipods are fun and easy to use for the most part. The iPods differ, yet most enable you to do
multi-tasking projects. If you are searching for movies, you might want to take advantage of
the low priced videos. One of the things I learnt about buying music or movies is that many
have only portions of the content that is favorites while the remaining videos are something
we may not like. Particular music in this situation may publish one hit on a single album and
when you pay around $15 or more for one hit; it is outrageous.
This is where an iPod will come in handy, since you can select a single hit and download it,
burn it to a DVD/CD and follow pursuit until you have all your favorites sounds on a single
disc. Likewise, you like clips of movies you can also download your favorite episodes or else
download your favorite TV shows. The old school iPods provided less features than the new
iPods, however, those pods still had something to offer.
Old School Videoing with iPods
Back in the day when iPods first came out people were limited to what they could do with the device.
Nowadays, the technology developers have enhanced the features, making it easy to download music,
games, video clippings, and more. The old school video iPod's seem simpler, yet users were limited. Still,
users were capable of downloading videos over the Internet, downloading the videos to their iPods and
watching the movie clips anywhere they choose.
At one time users were able to go online and find original movies in which they could download. The users
were demanded by the law to download only copies of movies they owned. The laws are firm today.
Apple is one of the primer developers of iPods. The first iPod included features and menus, which
composed sound, playbacks, pause, and so forth. Apple made small fun devices that fit into a pocket. The
device would play hundreds of songs. The original version enables users to select from play lists, artist lists
and more. The digital musical iPods brought in a new arena of cool devices, by adding users the ability to
carry the device anywhere they wish to go. The hardware and software combined was a strategy that not
many wanted to encounter.
The iPod is easy to use. The fire wires and other connections make it possible to function like a DVD original
player. You merely plug in the adaptors or firewalls into a Mac or standard PC. The process enables you to
start downloading music in minutes. The first iPod had over 30 hours of battery power life, and worked faster
than the standard USB ports.
IPods is becoming a hot item. Millions of people are enjoying the devices. Nowadays you can download
thousands of songs for a low price, while at one time you could only download a few songs, since the old
iPods had less Random Access Memory (RAM).
At one time, you could only listen to a few songs at time, however nowadays you can listen to as many
songs as you choose. You merely select the songs you want to download, click rip, and burn. If you want to
foul the songs to DVD or CDs you merely plug-in the device, select songs, rip, burn and download. There
you have it, all in a nutshell. This
Technology advancement and init has made it easy for nearly not anyone whether they know about
technology is, to use iPods. Most iPods new or old come with instructions that will guide you to the process
of downloading music, videos, games, and so on. It is recommended that you follow each step according to
the manual to get the best results.
Music, movies, and games seem to be everybody's pastime nowadays. The iPods today make it possible to
watch movie clippings, listen to music, or play games anywhere you choose. If you still have, the older
versions of iPods realize today that you can download hundreds of songs for less than $20. This is around 3
cents per cut. The newer iPods enable you to download thousands of songs at one time.
One of the advantages of iPods is that you can download old TV programs. This is nice, since back in the
good old days when television was descent and fun, you could enjoy the many programs. Nowadays, the
programs are purely immoral most times, thus having the advantage of watching the good, clean stuff is
worth the time you will spend downloading videos. Anyway, check out the newer versions of iPods, since
some are actually interesting in what they can do. Converting video clips is never been easier.
Converting Video Clips for iPods using iTunes 6.0.2
When the video-capable fifth-generation iPod was first shipped last year, Apple's iTunes disappointed many
users by lacking in-built tools to convert their existing videos to iPod-ready format. During those months,
only a handful of third-party solutions were required to encode video content for the iPod. Now they have
just become largely unnecessary for the casual user.
Why? Well, it's not often that a small revision to iTunes brings major new features, but iTunes 6.0.2 is an
exception. It now handles video conversion to an iPod-compatible format, giving iPod owners access to the
power of a key QuickTime Pro feature without the additional $29 cost.
As is typical for Apple, the added features are so subtly integrated that they may be difficult for some users
to find. Well here is a mini tutorial to help you get started.
How to Convert Video Clips with iTunes 6.0.2
ITunes 6.0.2 can make iPod-ready files from most QuickTime-compatible video formats, including MOV,
MPEG, and MP4. The files are automatically converted to H.264-format video 320 pixels wide, and this
setting cannot be customized within iTunes. It's perfectly good for iPod viewing, but on-TV or PC viewing is
another story.
You can start adding your MOV, MPEG, or MP4 files to your iTunes library by simply dragging them into
your iTunes Library Window. Highlight a single or multiple items by pressing 'ctrl' key and clicking on the
desired items. Then right click on any of the item and select" Convert Selection for iPod." Instantly iTunes
will begin working on your files. The progress of conversion can be monitored by clicking on "Source" and
then clicking on "Converting Songs."
What to do after the conversion is complete?
As soon as the conversion process gets over, you will have two identically named files one of which is the
converted file and the other one the original. Well the criteria to decide which file to delete and which one to
keep is not based on the size of the files because the converted files may or may not be smaller in size. As
such, the size after conversion is more dependent on the source format. However, the "Kind" column will
show the converted file as "MPEG4 video file" and it's "Date Added" will be more recent than the original.
Then all that you have to do is simply remove the older file from your library. Well another way to tell which
is the converted file is to open them using QuickTime. It will show all the video specifications that you may
need to know.
At what time the conversion is complete, you will now have two files identically named, one of which is your
original, and one of which is the new iPod-compatible version. How does one determine which file to delete?
The new file may be either larger or smaller in size than the original, so don't use these criteria. However,
the "Kind" column for the new file will display "MPEG-4 video file," and its "Date Added" will be more recent
than the original. Remove the older file from your library.
Now you are just a few minutes away from playing your favorite movie on your iPod. Simply follow the
instructions above and enjoy your video clips and movies. Also, remember you can download thousands of
hit songs for a few pennies over the Internet. This is an outstanding deal, since now you can listen to your
favorite tunes without paying a fortune.
IPods are fun little tools, however the devices are expensive, therefore if you are searching for an iPod take
time to research the market, since deals do exist. Next, we are going to learn how to choose the right video
format.
Choosing the Right Video Format for your iPod
As of date, the video IPODS can play videos, music and more by a process known as encoding. The codes
that IPODS use are peg and the H formatting codes. The software, which comes with the IPODS today, can
flip the audio/video formats into a one man file. Codec's are encodes.
The PEG older versions of the IPODS enabled you from its software to play nearly any types of files in video
format at a higher rate of bits and resolution. This provided enhance picture and sound.
The H formats are a 264 emerging traditional IPOD that was originally released by Apple. IT has software
that includes Quick Time 7, which took PEG 4's formatting quality to a different level of efficiency.
A catch-22 seems to take fold, as the H formats often demand a higher power processing to both is
decoders and encoders for files in video format. This implies that the user will wait longer while preparing the
content and readying it for the IPOD. This does not leave out the rates of bit, which is the amount of the
files/data being processed in second, which is often fewer than other models of IPODS. This means that the
IPODS need fewer pixels, which brings down the quality while employing the IPOD on a TV's out put
function, on a television with a higher end capability.
Even Apple has publicly admitted to the same facts as stated above.
Apple made it known of IPODS details to help the public have a firmer grasp. The Bit-Rate discovered by
IPOD owners that the rate of bits is firmly compact, while the resolution has an area of concern. The IPOD
owners came to grips with IPODS pixel counts and acknowledged the limits on both IPOD formats. Pixels
are made to smooth out the flow of the IPODS capabilities.
Understanding Resolution's Impact on Video Quality:
TO have a complete comprehension of resolution of an IPOD quality video screen you will need to see all
three formatting options.
? H.264 at 320 pixels
? MPEG-4 at 480 pixels and
? MPEG-4 at 720 pixels
As you look more into the formats, you will see that videos formatting in both H and PEG, seeing that the
formats or pixels resemble the original content on DVDs and the TV screens. Some of the lower pixel
formats give off a blurring affect, while the higher pixel counts may provide quality. The lower pixel level may
also affect the color shown on the screen.
If you understand digital cameras you are aware that the higher the resolution, the best odds you will get of
having a quality picture. On the other hand if you are adding pictures to a web page you want the lowest
pixel count, otherwise it will clog up your website.
Anyway, you get the point. The pixels and level of resolution all make a difference in the way you will see
your photos, videos and the like on screen. It also makes a different as to how well the sound of your music
will play. To get a fuller understanding of IPODS I would recommend visiting stores first and testing the
sound and pictures if possible, since many stores put up testing devices for your convenience. Then you can
go to the Internet to make your purchase if this is where you wish to purchase your device. For more
information on IPODS I recommend that you research the marketplace, particular before buying a copy for
yourself. This will save you despair and time, as well as money.
IPod Video in the Earlier Days
In the earlier days iPod videoing was a fun activity, yet the older iPods didn't impress as many as the newer
versions have done over the last year. Nowadays, everyone and his brother are buying an iPod to download
videos. What can we say about the earlier iPods? The earlier iPods were devices with fewer features than
what the later versions include. Still, the earlier iPods offered something to the users. While downloading
music, videos and so forth however, it burns up a lot of memory, which unfortunately the earlier versions
didn't have much to offer.
Even with a 60 GB iPod out there in the market, it's not enough to store all that you may want to. However,
while you may convert your videos and movies to a format that eats up a much lesser volume of your iPod's
memory, it can badly degrade the image quality. So the question is what to do in such a case?
Well this can be sorted out if you understand the pros and cons of choosing a certain video format that you
may be using. Here we will be discussing the same to enable you to make the smartest choice before you
decide to convert all of your videos for iPod viewing.
Why does all this matter:
Well it's not really difficult to convert your favorite movies and videos to iPod-ready format, but at the same
time this process can be painstakingly time consuming and depending upon the settings that you might have
chosen, it could take up to half a day or even longer to convert a two hour video into an iPod –ready format.
Now imagine doing this process repeatedly. The amount of time that has to be spent doing this can be
reduced to an extent by choosing the right format for your video files.
The ideals of saving memory are downloading a smaller selection of videos, songs, or games. Once you
have your hits download them to DVD or CD before downloading additional sounds, videos, and so forth.
One of the best deals about the newer versions of iPods is that the features are easier to use, while the
older versions were a bit more complex. The iPods were designed so that you could carry your music with
you, but nowadays you can download data, music, videos, movies, or games and take it anywhere you go.
Some of the iPods today have features including iPod + iTunes, .Mac, Download, iTunes overviews, launch
music stores, videos, iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod, Mac OS X, Quick Time, and so forth. Once you connect
the adaptor, you will automatically be connected to iTunes where you can start downloading music and
more.
I've just downloaded iTunes myself to help you understand how the process works. It seems that iTunes has
a Library where videos are stored. The features include Podcasts, videos, party shuffle, radio, music store,
90's music, my top rated, recently added, recently played and top 25 most played. ITunes also has a menu
at the top of the screen where you can select options. Anyway, iTunes is what you will connect to while
downloading videos from your iPod. You can also listen to the songs before downloading the hits to your
computer, iPod, or DVD/CD. This is an advantage since if you do not like the song you can go to the next
track and listen in on the tune to see if it is something, you want to purchase. You can also perform a Search
in the search bar to locate your favorite tunes. Next, we are going to discuss format issues on video iPod
and how these problems can be solved with easy to use converters.
Format Issues on Video iPod Solved with Easy to Use Converter
Now that you have gotten your hands on a video iPod, how do you do get all of those video clips you have
stored on your computer to play on it. What you need is a video converter, one that provides an easy and
simple way to convert all popular video formats to iPod video. Whether you are working with DVD/VCD, AVI,
MPEG, WMV, RM, RMVB, DivX, ASF, VOB video files, you can get them all into your video iPod in a few
easy steps - and without paying a fortune. Most iPods comes with easy instructional tools that will help you
along the journey of downloading your music. You can also employ the converters software manuals for
additional help while downloading music, videos, movies, games and more.
Some of the program offers makes a sweet converter for the video iPod that is freeware, but you do not
have to worry-it does not come loaded with any Adware or Spy-ware. The main thing you want at what time
you dealing with any converter software is to know that it is reliable and performs the tasks you want quickly.
With an interface that is a no-brainer, you can move through the conversion of your files easily and be
assured that the converted files will not lose any image or sound quality. ID3 Tags are derived from the input
files automatically. In addition, if you get stuck in the process there is a help file written in common terms to
answer your questions? On the other hand, if you are dissatisfied with the program you can uninstall it
without any problems. This will also clear up space on your Flash Ram, or Hard Drive Ram.
Another great feature this video iPod converter has is that you can process an unlimited number of files at
once. If this is your first run at converting files for the video iPod, you might need to update your video
codec's. To be on the safe side, make sure you are running Windows Media Player version 7.1 or higher
and update your DirectX files to version 8.1 or higher before you begin.
Once you get all your files converted, you will not have trouble locating the ones you want, because this
converter stores your file information neatly in its own little ID Tag. Most source files will include basic info
like the title, artist name and a comment and this converter brings all this over for you automatically, and you
can edit them, as you like. You can perform random searches to find your favorite tunes also.
However, there is some limitation on what this video iPod converter can do - it cannot convert video files to
MP3. But this is a great tool for converting the popular video formats to iPod video files. Using the 'drag and
drop' method, you can transfer your source files from Windows Explorer directly to the converter program,
which saves lots of time. The program runs in the background so you can work on other tasks while your
files are converting. Or you can preview the output video, although this will slow the conversion process
down a bit. In addition to opening the source file or playing the output file, you can select the option to turn
off your computer when the conversion is completed. You can even set up a batch of files for conversion
without having to baby sit the process. This gives you the up hand, since while you are going thru the
conversion process you can attend to other tasks. Now we can learn how to ready our videos for DVD.
Getting Your Video iPod ready for Your DVDs
The video iPod has every DVD owner drooling at the thought of having their favorites in the palm of their
hand. What they are not so happy about is the hours of conversion time it will take to make this happen.
With a full charge, the 30GB video iPod gives only two hours of playback, while the 60GB gives three. The
good thing is that now converting your DVDs can be done in one easy step with the Handbrake program
(freeware) that can make DVD compatible with your video iPod. You no longer have to save your DVD to
your hard drive and convert the file to video format.
How to Convert your Videos
To start your video iPod conversion, download the Handbrake program, once it is installed, insert your DVD
and launch it. Your DVD will be detected as '/dev/rdisk#'. Select this file and the click 'Open'. Once
Handbrake has scanned your disk, choose the selections you want to convert, you will see all the contents
like special features, and movie trailers and these will show up in the 'Titles' drop-down list. Your movie will
probably be the longest title in the list. Select the title first and then select the chapter range you want to
convert, start with first to last chapter. The program will give you the total time of video you are converting;
most conversions are about two hours.
Selecting the best options
To make the most of your Handbrake program settings for your video iPod, in the video window, select the
frame rate of 29.97, which works well for output to the video iPod and on most TV's as well. It is also wise to
enable the 2-pass encoding option, although it will take twice as long using this method, your video image
will be crisper and the audio clearer. In 'Picture Settings', you can choose what size you want your finished
movie to be. Here is where the format's maximum picture size is used. If you are only going to output your
video to your video iPod, keep aspect ratio as it is checked and change the picture width to 320 pixels, the
width of your video iPod screen.
The settings for your video iPod are one thing, but your setting for the output to your TV are different, you
will want to make your movie as large as possible. Remember, the H.264 format allows for 76,800 pixels
and MPEG-4 format allows for 230,400 pixels. You will have decrease the size of your video until the
number of pixels wide multiplied by the number of pixels high is just less than the total number of pixels that
you're allowed-use your calculator for this - so you can get it right. In most cases, the automatic crop option
in the Handbrake program will properly detect and remove any black bars around your movie. Check the
other parts of your movie with the 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons. If you see black bars in some of the preview
frames, change the crop settings manually. This is the steps to getting the ball rolling. You are now on your
way to watching your favorite movies, listening to your favorite tunes, or else playing your favorite games.
You can also download data onto your iPod so that it will be available to you anywhere you go, and anytime
you will need the information.
Some of the best devices ever are on the market, yet updates are always coming to the fore. Therefore,
keep watch for latest news and updates to get the most out of your iPod experience. What about handling
difficult DVD to video iPod conversions.
Handling Difficult DVD to Video iPod Conversions
While most of your video iPod conversions can be handled easily by the freeware program Handbrake, there
are times when it is not able to get the job done. In the never-ending battle against piracy, some DVD
producers are employing copy protection and the Handbrake program cannot scan the disk.
For these video iPod conversions, the solution is to download the 'Mac the Ripper' program. Once you get
the program, take a peek at the preferences and settings. Check your hard disk before you start and make
sure you have enough free space available for the converted DVD, which can use about 10GB of space.
Once the conversion is finished, you will be able to delete this folder.
For most video iPod conversions, you should be able to keep the defaults of the program. Insert your DVD
into your drive and run the program. You will have to choose the file at the top of your screen along with the
'Save To' option for where you want the converted file to be located. Just click the 'Go' button and your
conversion will begin. Click the Mode button and select 'Main Feature Extraction' option when you do not
want all the other files that may be on the DVD like trailers and comments. Using this option will speed the
conversion process along as well as saving you space on your hard drive.
Please note: Be aware that the program will generate an alert after your DVD conversion is completed,
because it is technically downloading music and videos, as well as movies is illegal in the US to copy DVDs
- even those in your personal library.
Now you have finished this process you can use the Handbrake program to create a file that is compatible
with your video iPod requirements. When you launch the Handbrake program this time, select the DVD
Folder/Image, find, and select your Mac the Ripper folder where you saved the contents of your DVD.
Follow the Handbrake instructions and your movie file will be ready. Once the conversion process is
completed, you must delete the folder and files that were created with the Mac the Ripper program, because
these files are enormous and after a few conversions, you will run out of disk space.
Clean up your hard drive, space and you will be ready to take advantage of the 'Queue' feature in the
Handbrake program. This cool option lets you setup the conversion of a whole list of DVDs automatically.
You need to copy the number of DVDs you want to convert to your hard drive with Mac the Ripper. Then
simply click the 'Enable' button and adjust the Handbrake program settings to add each new saved DVD to
the queue. Now all that is left to do is for you to click the 'Start' button. Now you can go to store, go to work
or to your class and your computer is busy humming away at your DVD to video iPod conversions.
One of the things I noted is that iPods after connected to the USB connector at the back of the box will
connect you with iTunes. Once you download iTunes software, you have access to loads of music. Most
tracks are less than a buck each, which makes it money saving fun to download music. Once you download
the music, you can load it to your iPod and you are on your way to the beat. IPods seem to be fun and
entertaining gadgets, so I guess I am on my way to the market to buy my own copy. Next, we are going to
consider iPod battery power and how to keep it live.
How to Maximize Your Video iPod's Battery
Maximizing the battery life of your video iPod can be done fairly easily. These two tips will help you have
more power to listen to your favorite songs or watch your favorite videos. Try them and see how they work
for you. It is a hassle to start a download and find out during the process that the battery power is low, thus
this will cause a major interruption and headache. No one likes headaches!
Tip Number 1: You CAN Get More than 3 Hours of Video Playback on Your 30GB Video iPod
According to the user's manual, one full charge of the 30GB video iPod will give you two hours of video
playback. Nevertheless, if you compress your video for iPod only playback and are do not mind giving up a
little bit on image size, you can get almost 3 hours of straight video play. On the 60GB model, you will get an
extra 40 minutes.
Of course, videos with smaller picture sizes, lower bitrates and frame rates, will play longer on one charge
than a larger video file with higher settings. Using MPEG-4 compression, two hours of a full-screen movie,
scaled down to, only 192 x 144 and at 15 frames per second will play for three hours. Using 15 frames per
second instead of 30 and a smaller scale boosts the video playback time considerably.
Using a higher scale, again with MPEG-4 compression, you will get less video playback time. At what time
you use the scale the same size as the video iPod's screen, 320 x 240 at 29.97 frames per second and the
average bitrate set to 1000Kbps, your video will play for about two hours before your battery gives out. Run
a test for yourself using both settings and see which one you prefer. However, if extending your battery life
for more video playback time is your primary goal, definitely use the smaller scale and lower frames per
second speed.
Tip Number 2: Forget About Your Fast Forward Button
In regards to the saving battery power, the disadvantages far out weigh the advantages of using fast forward
button on your video iPod. If you want to have the maximum amount to your battery power to view your
videos or listen to your music, keep your finger off the fast forward button! Remember that the life of your
battery is ruled by the requests made on your video iPod's mechanical hard drive-how many times it has to
rewind and read data. This is true especially at what time you shuffle through your library.
In truth, there is very little reason to do this, because the video iPod winds through the hard drive at regular
intervals, loading your next songs into its solid-state memory. What happens at what time you shuffle or fast
forward is that you actually empty the memory? This causes your hard drive to work harder-now it must
rewind again to read ahead a bunch more songs. It is a waste of energy, which creates unnecessary wear
and tear on your video iPod. The easy workaround to avoid the fast-forward button temptation is to keep
your play lists short. Take the time to edit your play lists you do not want to hear and delete them from the
files. You should also follow the manuals instructions carefully. The manual likely has maintenance tips that
will help you get the most out of your gadget. You can also find helpful information that will guide you
through the process of saving your memory and battery while using your iPod. Now we can look at how
putting your news on video iPods is possible.
Pod Casting Calls: Putting Your News on Video iPods
Videoing Anywhere at Anytime
In case you have been asleep, the buzz right now is all about the video iPod and video pod casting, which is
same thing as a music video over the World Wide Web, except it is in your pocket. The basic reason why
pod casting is so popular, is because it gives you the freedom to view and listen to what you want, whenever
and wherever you happen to find yourself; waiting in the queue, riding the metro or on your coffee break at
work. Regardless of where you are at, you can take music, videos, movies, games, or data anywhere you
choose to go. The iPods generally connect you to iTunes, which you will select songs, pay for the hits, and
download them at your leisure.
Atom Syndication
RSS or Atom syndication is what makes the distribution of audio or video files over the Internet possible.
From the beginning, the iPod turned the music world around, now, the video iPod is changing our visual
world. The term 'pod casting' is used in relating information about the content as well as the method of how
you get it. The video iPod has started a new industry and is changing the way we view our personal world.
In addition, the video iPod world is growing fast and now you can get all styles of gadgets at affordable
costs. There are hundreds of 'pod casters' with websites offering file downloads of videos that focus on their
business or recreational interests. But a growing number of people are taking advantage of the potential of
their video iPod by using a 'subscription feed'.
The subscription feed works with RSS and automatically delivers content directly to any video iPod. It is the
fact that content is constantly updated that sets it apart from a web cast or downloads. Just like a television
series, you can produce a pod cast to have regular, new episodes of your favorite topic or event. Then
people who share your interest can subscribe to your feed and get your pod casts.
Of course the potential of the video iPod is huge, we a society driven by information. Making your own video
pod cast is fairly easy to do. And it is one of the most effective ways you have to communicate your
message. First, decide how you want to deliver you pod cast. If you are setting up a website for your video
iPod download, make sure that your web host can handle the software and file applications you will need. If
you plan to become part of a subscription feed, check with the provider regarding the requirements.
The biggest attraction of using a video iPod is that people can collect programs from a variety of sources to
listen to or view at any time they want, as opposed to traditional broadcasting. This method restricts the
viewer to one source at a time and the schedule for the view is controlled by the broadcaster. There are
hundreds of listings where you can find pod casts and to list yours.
'Web casting' or streaming media files from the Worldwide Net remove the time limitation from the viewer -
but an Internet connection is needed while playing the files. The faster the speed, the swifter the files will
download. The major advantage that streaming media has over pod casting is the ability to bring an
audience live events over the Worldwide Net. Nevertheless, with the Wi-Fi community growing, that
advantage over the video iPod may not last for long. What about the sync?
Solving Video iPod Sync Problems
Settings Adjusted
If your image and sound are not working in harmony on your video iPod, you may need to take a look at
your settings and make some adjustments. First thing to do is to open your video iPod file in QuickTime. You
will need to choose the 'Show Movie Info' option and make a note of the umber for 'frames per second'.
Now, you want to go toward the end of the video and press play. What you are looking for is the amount of
time that the audio is out of sync with the video. If the variation is slight, the timeframe for the sync is
probably less than one second. Go to the menu and select 'Edit-Select All' and your entire timeline will be
highlighted. Of the two options shown for your timeline, choose the one at the end. Make sure you select the
entire line until it becomes completely black. In order to re-sync the audio to the video, you will have to lose
a bit of your movie.
Using the left arrow key, tap it so that the counter goes down to the previous period. As you do this, keep
track of how many taps it takes until the counter on the left goes down to the previous second, in other
words, each tap of the left arrow key rewinds one frame of video. If it took as many taps to move the counter
down as your 'frames per second' number, this means that you have rewound a full second of video. Tap the
counter until you have reached your estimated time - there is no need to worry about being precise; the most
important thing is to make a note of the number of taps you make.
Return to the menu and this time, select 'Edit- Copy'. Second, select 'Edit-Select All' and finally, select 'Edit-
Add to Selection and Scale'. Once you have done this, select 'Window-Show Movie Properties'. Here you
should see two video tracks and two sound tracks. The first (video track 1 and sound track 1), are the
original tracks. The second tracks are your edited tracks. Now you will use the check boxes here to find out
how close you are to getting the audio and video in sync.
All four tracks should be selected when you start. Move the play head to a point within in the movie and
press play. Now you can mix and match the tracks labeled '1' with tracks labeled '2'. Make sure you select
only one Video Track and one Sound Track at a time until you get the result you want. Once you are happy
with the results, you have to delete the unselected tracks. Go to the menu and select 'File-Save-Self
Contained Movie'.
Congratulations! You have synched your new QuickTime movie's audio to the video and it is ready for your
video iPod. Now you can sit back and relax while viewing your favorite video on your iPod. You can also
download the movies to computer, DVD, and so forth. This provides you the ability to watch your favorites at
leisure in the comforts of your own home, or office if you prefer.
If you are not happy with the results, simply repeat the steps above and increase your counter taps, usually
when this is the case, adding five more frames than the first time will do the trick. You may want to refer to
your manual to reach the best results. Often time's manuals provide you systematic instructions to guide you
through a variety of processes. The evaluation of video iPod has made this one innovative technical journey
to entertainment.
The Evolution of Communication - the Video iPod
Life is moving at the speed of sound and the Video iPod is fast becoming the popular choice of people who
want to keep up. Not just your favorite songs or photos-now the iPod plays video, bringing a new dimensions
to the way you experience your entertainment. It gives you the freedom to carry all your music with you and
still have space for whatever else you desire.
The video iPod is giving DVD players a run for their money. Already there websites catering to the
thousands of video iPod users, creating video files for them to download. A whole industry has sprung up
around podcasters everything from advertising and software to 'vlogs' and forums. With the enhanced
memory capacity - 30GB and 60GB models can hold up to 15,000 songs, view 25,000 photos or watch 150
hours of video on a 2.5-inch color display along with a sweet price.
However, those are the obvious ways you can use your video iPod. The coolest thing about having one of
these little devices is the other things you can do - like listen to Internet radio broadcasts. Internet radio
broadcasters make it really easy to and there is plenty of software you can use to make it happen, for
instance, there is the freeware application Radio Recorder.
With Radio Recorder, you enter the URL of your favorite Internet radio station and you are good to go. The
program is recorded as MP3 files; make sure you have enough disk space on your computer before you
start. A good rule of thumb is for every minute of recording you will need about 1MB of disk space. You can
also program the Radio Recorder to record at a scheduled time, separate your broadcast into different files,
and categorize them by title.
Once you have your Internet radio programs tucked inside your video iPod, the Click Wheel feature will let
you access to your complete library with just one finger. In addition, you have all the bells and whistle
options you can possible want. Create play lists, rewind, and go forward, pause, select, and rate your
favorite pieces. Watch your favorite photo slideshows. The Click Wheel gives you touch pad control that is
sensitive to your requests which lets you relax and enjoy your entertainment.
There are thousands of downloads available for your video iPod, and not only from the iTunes Music Store.
You will find hundred of independent podcasters online with some amazing and entertaining downloads for
you. Then there are the audio books, music video, and television shows. In addition, if you want to extend
your video iPod to surround sound, just add an audio cable and you will be able to play music from your
video iPod straight to your home stereo. For video play, back all you need is an S-video cable and you are
ready to play iPod video on your TV. Alternatively, take your photo slideshows to the big screen easily from
anywhere in the room with the remote control feature.
The problem is you will need to pay $0.99 per song at iTunes, however if you select other music providers
you can get the hits at a lower cost. Some sites are offer hundreds of articles at the lowest cost ever,
meaning you will receive hundreds of hits at around 3 cents per copy. Heck, even if you did not like some of
the songs you could still save loads of cash on hits you do like. To learn more about iPods we encourage
you to visit the Internet where loads of information is available to you. You will also need to learn video
formats. Read on!
Understanding Video iPod Formats
IPODS new arrivals has everyone overjoyed at the notion playing music, watching videos, playing
games and more anywhere they choose. Yet, many are failing to fully understand the innovative
Ipods before investing in the devices; therefore, we are going to review specifications.
Pod Features
Many of the features up-to-date include video, frames, baselines, battery, stereo/audio, formats, memory,
and so forth. The formats include MPEG4, AVI, and so forth.
The features incorporated in today's pods, gives the user a higher definition of bit-rates. This means that you
can watch a movie on a 320 by 240 pixel. This will match the screen of the device. To utilize frame rates you
will need to encode. Encodes will join with the baselines profile. The audio is also encoded through AAC
videoing and audio codes. You can select from a menu to play the sounds or pictures via stereo or mono.
You will then watch your movies on QuickTime software, or else through MPEG4 movie files.
If you want to view files that are larger on your pod, you will need a bit-rate much larger than average. The
gives you a tradeoff, since you have more space for music and movies combined. If you elect MPEG4
encoding to watch movies, you can view the movies on a 480 by 480 high-resolution pixel. This is more than
a pod can handle. This is where frames come in to adjust the pixels however, to meet your file demands.
The formats for audio are equal to that of video files.
Challenging Video iPods
The challenge is deciding which format is best to use for your video iPod. The images produced by both
formats look quite good at what time you encode your videos at the highest support settings. You can use
the formats H264 since it offers quality higher than other formats, as well the files size will decrease
compared to the usage of MPEG formats. Still, it will take longer for the encoding process to finish using this
formatting code verses utilizing MPEGS codes.
Once you are finished with encoding you are ready to watch your video or listen to your music. It is important
that you become acquainted with the downloading laws to avoid legal accusations. Some of the sites online
offer free downloads. You can pay low dollars at I-Tunes video stores as well. Some areas online will enable
you to download scores of videos free, and you can encode using I-Squint.
NOTE: You want to be careful while downloading games, music, videos, movies and so forth, since if you do
not have the original copy it is illegal. Some of the major issues going on now, include lawsuits for
downloads and file sharing. We encourage you to read upon the news to make sure you are out harm of the
law. Be sure to, carefully read all legalities, since anyone caught downloading free music illegal is subject to
fines, costs, and possible imprisonment. Proceed with caution!
Video iPod Compatibility with Internet Downloads
Compatibility, Downloads and Ipods
Video Ipod is essential, since if the programs are not compatible you will experience technical difficulty. The
websites offer scores of videos, songs and the like to download, however not every site has compatible
downloadable hits. Some sites won't even label their extensions, file formats and the like; therefore, at what
time you download from the site, you will have no clue whether the files are compatible with your Ipod. What
can you do?
You can connect your Ipod to your computer and open up I-tunes windowpane to check compatibility.
Merely move the file downloaded to I-tunes library. If the file begins to copy, then it is evident compatibility
exists, yet you want to make sure that you choose the Manual Manager Songs tab, and the play list in the
preference area of I-tunes.
Adding Videos to iTunes Library
You can also right-click the video in the I-tunes library to test compatibility. At what time the Windowpane
appears, select the Converting option on your Ipod. I-Tunes will deliver a message automatically if the file is
compatible. If not, a process of conversion will take place through a formatting/encoding strategy, which will
format the video to meet your Ipods capabilities.
After dropping the file, you will notice a bar in the windowpane. The Update Music will be located in the top
area of I-tunes Windowpane. You will not need to add files in the library to upload to your Ipod. Using the
drag and drop strategy you will move the files or videos located in the Finder's area onto your Ipod and into
I-tunes program. Be sure to enable the command, so it will mechanically mange your video files.
Adding Songs and Videos to iTunes Library
If you want to add music and/or videos to Ipods video library, you will need to connect to your computer with
the USB cable that came with your device. You will need to become acquainted with I-tunes Mechanically
Managing Options to successfully add songs. The Ipod is automatically formatted to PC, which enables you
to add hits to your computer or else Mac system. If you do not have Mac compatibility, thus software
converters are, available that will enable you to synchronize using a Mac computer.
Compatible Checks
You can also use QuickTime's program to check compatibility. Merely open the files selected in the
QuickTime Windowpane at the Show Movies option. Be sure to check the formatting options to make sure it
is compatible, and check the bit-rates to make sure the rates are at 900 in H264 format, or else 2600 in Peg
format.
Music and Video Download Websites
There are scores of sites offer free downloads. Be aware that many of these sites are offering illegal
downloads, which some will have unwarranted attachments, such as bugs, viruses, and the like. Your best
bet is to employ the software that came available with your Ipod to stay safe. Few sites online will offer free
downloads and are legitimate sites, however we recommend that your research the sites to verify legality.
At what time you are ready to create your own videos, you will need software, such as QuickTime. Other
software programs are available; however, you will need to check compatibility of such software if selected.
Be sure to read all instructions that came with your Ipod, since available information may be available to
you, as to what software's are compatible with your device. You can also read the compatibility area in the
manual if available to understand compatibility issues, and how to avoid such problems.
What is Different about the Video iPod?
At first, the new video iPod may appear wider to you than previous models. The wider screen and smaller
touch wheel may be a surprise, but in reality, the video iPod is the exact same width as the models before it.
Enlarging the LCD from 2' to 2.5' has resulted in a great effect, along with the other change in the layout of a
smaller scroll wheel from 41.67mm across to 38.10mm, which uses Apple's own in-house scroll wheel
design.
The redesign has affected the physical thickness too; the video iPod is about 39% thinner than the 40GB
model and 28% thinner than the 10GB model. When you compare the video iPod to the old 40GB model,
you really begin to appreciate the work Apple has done. The rounded edges on the front and rear face in the
previous models are gone - now the front face is dual layered, coated with a clear resin on top of the white
plastic and completely flat. Now that a hard resin instead of a plastic cover covers the LCD, it has better
protection against damage and the screen images are clearer. The addition of different colors to the video
iPod product line will benefit from this change, giving the entire range of models a consistent image.
One frustration with the redesign of the video iPod is the change of location for the headphone jack. It has
been moved from the center of the device to opposite the hold switch. This will make several of the
accessories designed for previous models difficult to use or obsolete. Now there is very little Firewire
support on the video iPod, so many Mac users could be a bit put off with the new USB requirement. The
word on the street is that the Firewire chipset was eliminated in the quest for a lighter, more compact design.
As for the 'video' content factor in the video iPod, the addition of the new 'Videos' menu gives you the
options that are currently available; 'Video Play lists,' 'Music Videos,' 'Movies,' and 'Video Pod casts.'
Nevertheless, you will not see the 'TV Shows,' menu option until you buy a TV show from the iTunes Music
Store and update your video iPod. Thankfully, the interface for playing movies is almost identical to what
users are accustomed to in playing music-when you click the middle wheel the first time you control the
volume with the scroll wheel, the second click will put you in video land.
A very nice additional feature to the video iPod is the ability to bookmark your videos so that if you are
interrupted, your video will pick up right where you stopped viewing. However, be advised that the video
iPod has some pretty strict video formats and codec's requirements. Make sure you check the Apple site for
the specifications, especially if you want to encode your own video. However, with the tutorials, the process
is easy enough to follow using the new 'Export to iPod' option in QuickTime. One of the advantages of
Apple's most recent iPods is that at what time you connect the adaptor to the firewire you will automatically
be connected to iTunes. NOTE: You must download iTunes software in order to have access to all its
functions and connections with your iPod. You might want to check your manual also to see if other
programs are available to you.
It is wise to download music, videos, movies, games, and so forth legally. Anyone caught downloading
music, movies, videos and so forth that does not own the original copies is subject to fines, cost, and
possible imprisonment. Now we can learn how to use our video iPod with hard disks.
Using your iPods as an external Hard Disk:
Ipods are the newest creation that is taking computers into a different reality. The population is fascinated by
Ipods, since these devices enable them to play their favorite tunes, watch videos, view images, store files,
and more. The users can do this while moving, sitting, standing, or walking. What more could a person ask
for when everything is there in the palm of your hands. Ipods can do many things. For instance, you can
store files on the device, and play music, watch videos, and the like, or else transfer your files onto a
computer or DVD. It's a simple miniature storage medium with a windowpane similar to a computer, and
includes videos-audio hardware, and a case. The standard pods include hard drives, which are the smallest
drives ever, and will shuffle through files by using memory chips. The advantage is that you can load up files
onto this device, take it to your workplace, and unload them to your computer, especially if it is for important
business.
You will need to adjust the settings however. You want to adjust the settings to I-Tunes and Ipods
preference to match, then you can drag your files to and from the Ipod with ease.
Setting Up your iPod (full-sized or mini)
After connecting your iPod to your computer's USB Port, the I-Tunes window will pop up mechanically. At
this moment, you merely click on the iPods icon in the sourcing list and then click on the Options tab. This
will open the iPod tabs located in I-Tunes preference area.
If the pod is set properly it will manage your songs manually at the play lists area, and will store the files
wherever you choose to situation them as commanded. You can merely drag your files to Ipod. You can
drag them to Windows Explorer also, or drag them onto your desktop. You will need to employ the Enabling
Disk by using Settings to synchronize your files, if the synchronizing process was not completed. You can
verify this process by selecting preferences in the Ipods displaying window.
Setting up the iPod shuffle
If you own a Shuffle pod be aware that you do not have freedom to employ lots of space, since data storage
on this device is critical. Allocation for data files must be preset, since audio files cannot store on this space
area. You can use I-Tunes to set the space limits.
Setting your Ipod Shuffle to disc, you will need to open the I-tunes window, click the icon labeled Ipod, and
select the options preference in the windowpane. Peek into the Enable Disc Usage area, and move the
sliders to disc space settings of choice to determine file space. The sliders will illustrate how many hits you
can store. You will see to the left of the pane the number of storage, while to the right you will see the space
numbered for files.
Copying Files to and from your iPod
If you want to copy files to your Ipod, drag the files onto the icon labeled Ipod. You will see this icon in the
Windowpane of Explorer. Use My Computer icon if you are dragging files to your computer. At what time you
employ Ipods hard discs, you can copy files to any device compatible with the Ipod. You can only play songs
on your Ipod and hear the sounds if you have utilized I-tunes library. However, you can utilize the iPods
functions to transfer music files between computers, such as when you want to copy an i-Tunes library from
an old computer to a new one.
Tips for Recovering Ipod Videos
Did you loose it? Where did it go? Darn pickings, I can't find my photos and music on my iPod.
Oh, well it does happen. That's technology for you. Anyway, if you've lost your photos or music,
and need to recover the information placing it on your computer where it belongs, listen, up, I am
only going to tell you one time how to recover those files. If you need to reconstruct your iTunes
play list, I will help you out here also.
Your iPod enables you to copy music, videos and more from a play list. You can copy this
information from your iPod to your computer in a matter of minutes. You can also backup your
files, data, videos, music, movies, games and more with a click of a button. The iPod enables you
to transfer all your music and videos to a play list located at iTunes, which you probably have
already downloaded. You can transfer your photos, songs, and more by clicking the right buttons.
The options enable you to search for hit songs, which you can transfer to iTunes play list, your
computer or iPod. You can play the songs by listening to the tunes through your computer or else
from your iPod.
Your iPod enables you to click the Photo View tab where you can locate saved music or photos
and download them to your PC. At the View option, you can review your photos in full pixel
screen through a sideshow. The Calendar Manager tools opts you to Edit, View, or create an
appointment calendar by using a task list. You can synchronize your photos through Outlook
Express. The Contact Manager enables you to perform a variety of functions, which includes Edit,
Create Contacts, or View information. You can also synchronize your photos through Outlook.
The Note Manager icon enables you to create, edit, or view information stored on your iPod. You
can create or organize folders and notes by selecting the proper tool menu.
If you are resetting a frozen screen, simple use the scroll wheel and retouch. The wheel should
connect to your device by an adaptor, which you will plug into an outlet and connect to the USB
Port on your PC. You should be able to toggle between screens once the device is properly
connected. You will need to download the most-up-to-the-minute Recovery File programs. Once
the program is installed, you can follow the procedures toward the process of recovery. You will
need to open, run the recovery files program, and conduct a complete search for your files lost.
Once you have located your file you are ready for the recovery process to finish.
IPODS are similar to computers, i.e. they are a major headache. Sometimes you will loose data,
but like computers, there is always a program available to you, to help you recover those files.
Since iPods hook to computers, you can also contract viruses or bugs in the device. Therefore,
keep your information updated at all times and you are on your way to having a successful
downloading, ripping, burnings, and loading journey.
For additional help, we recommend that you utilize your operator's manual. The manual will
provide you detailed steps in file recovery, operating, and more. You should also have information
available to help you learn the tools and menus, as well as how to keep your files safe while
keeping your device maintained for proper usage.
To reconstruct your iTunes we recommend that you go to the Help Menu and follow instructions,
since it is not clear which version of iTunes you have on your computer, or else what type of
computer you are employing. IPODS are in demand, so stay tuned!
Video IPods in Demand
You can't run you can't hide. Video iPods are now taking control of the technical world bringing
forth-flash memory, portable devices, and easy downloading capabilities. Where in Sam's name
is the world going to next. Since Apple's first design newer versions of iPods came into play,
which made it easier to download thousands of hits at speeds faster than lightning. Now we have
software converters, a variety of iPods, and tons of websites offering free music, videos, movie
clips, and games.
How do we use these iPods? How does downloading music, games, data, videos, movies, and all
that good stuff work? Well it depends on the system, but many connect you to iTunes, which you
select hits, purchase, download, rip, and burn to DVD/CD, iPod or computer. Many free
downloads are available but you want to be carefully since many of these sites are illegally
operated. You cannot download free anything according to the slicks that claim you can. If you do
not have an original version, then downloading will put you in the arms of the law. I don't know
about you, but I like hugs just not those kinds.
IPODS are similar to computers, i.e. you can rip, burn, download, upload, save files, copy files,
and so forth. If you want to save a file on your iPod, you will merely select the Save Tab from the
Menu and you are off to the running. If you want to get your music loaded onto your computer,
well then it depends what system you own, but for those of you owning an EPHPOD you will need
to open your applications menu. Once this menu is available, you will click "start" and then
"programs." You will have a FIREWIRE which you will connect to the back your computer. You
will need a working USB Port to make things happen.
You should have connected your iPod to your computer by now, which then you will pull down the
lists menu. The list menus is similar to your computers file list. (E.g. c ://)
Now you can double click on your music list. You should see all the songs downloaded in the play
list at this point. It looks sort of like a database, or spreadsheet window. Once you have selected
the songs you wish to copy, click right on the mouse, and click the Directory where the songs are
listed. You can use the keyboard or mouse to copy the files. To use the keyboard merely hold
down Ctrl + Alt + C simultaneously. Once you are asked where you wish to save the file, pull
down the list and select Desktop. You can now click OK, since your program device will create a
file folder to store your music.
IPODS are very easy to use, providing you have a basic understanding and a knowledge to follow
instructions. Most iPods come complete with instructions that will guide you through the process
of downloading, copying, recovering, deleting, ripping, burning and more. If you have an iPod,
most likely you have already figured out how to perform most actions on the device.
If your device is causing you to loose files, you might need to reset the machine. You can do this
by employing the scroll wheel and touching the key pad. If you have a later version of Apple's
iPod and need support, you may need to research the Internet where a wealth of information is
readily waiting for you. Most likely, someone has uploaded valuable tips, tricks, and how to
perform any action, even on the later versions. Now we can do the shuffle while reviewing the
minis.
IPod Mini and iPod Shuffle Video
IPod Video Nano
IPod Video Nano
In the early months of September back in 2005, Apple came on the air announcing the mini Ipod, which
became that generation's device. The Ipod included flash memory rather than a hard drive. Nano is less
than 30 inches wide and less than 7 inches thick. The new Nano Ipod only weighs about one and half
pounds and is smaller than most of the other ipods. The Nano small as it may be holds up to 4 gigabytes in
light of the fact of its built. Other models are available, including 1 and 2 gigabyte systems. Nano has a nice
colorful displaying screen that makes your photos look picture perfect according to the manufacturers. In
addition, the system connects to your computer through a USB cable. Nano became the original connector
dock Ipod. The Ipod connects through a computer and is synchronized through Macs OS systems or
Windows Operating System. (OS) The FireWire Cable is a connector that comes with the system and
actually charges the battery. There is no cord that extends the outlets for charging.
Nano includes a stopwatch feature, as well as a world clock feature. In addition, Nano enables you to use a
4-digit password, which disables each key until you type in the password selected. Nano is available in both
black and white colors. The models each have dissimilar storage for photos, music, videos, and so forth. It
cost around $250 respectively for a 4 gigabyte (GB) Nano.
Nano's screen as well as its outer casing is fragile according to the sellers, thus making it scratch with little
effort. The Nano's surface is made of a fragile plastic coating; therefore, any ordinary usage of the device
may cause damage to Nano's surface. Apple realizing how fragile nano was packaged the system before
sending them out. This fifth generation ipod comes with a carrying case made of delicate fabrics. This can
help halt scratching of Nano. The downside is the case sometimes will prevent the user from accessing the
window screen according to few. Each control is accessible, yet it can be difficult with the case in place.
This innovative Nano device puts the mini models at the back of the shelves. The tiny gadget stores loads of
gigabytes providing each user sufficient memory. The features alone make it easy to access scores of song
hits, while its hard drive 4-gig can store thousands of songs, hundreds of movies, videos games and more
with ease. The sharp displaying area is colorful and Nano has clicking wheels that makes it easy to
maneuver the device. The features are below a scroll wheel, which is quite large.
The headphones are the only downside according to few, i.e. the jacks are located at the bottom of the
device, which means the user plugs into the bottom while carrying the machine. The miniature Nano offers a
lot to those interested in the device. It is also said to provide hours of battery charge. The downside is you
will pay a couple hundred to own this device. Possibly, if you wait a few months you can get it
cheaper, since something new will come available that will put IPODS on the back shelf again.
The previous versions of IPODS only offered a few megabytes of memory and a couple of
options to select. Still, you had advantages with the previous versions, thus the only thing really
different is that these IPODS have carrying case, more memory and a few more details to figure
out.
How do they work?
I don't know, but I am willing to learn so I can help you figure these gadget out too. One thing I
learnt while dealing with computers, the more I know, the less I care to know. Anyway, here we
go. This gadget is slim and small. This gadget also has a stopwatch, which includes a variety of
zones. I'm zoning out. It looks too complex. But anyway all you need to do to download or
transfer songs to the computer is connect the FIREWIRE, plug in a disc if you want to download
to disc, and follow the instructions to the letter T. IT seems once you select an option you will be
guided through the process of whatever it is you want to do.
If you haven't already, downloaded iTunes you will need to do this first, since all your music will
store in a play list, or library. You can download a free copy of iTunes but you will pay around
$0.99 per song downloaded, so prepare to use your credit card.
Nano IPOD Video Transferring Assistance
So, you bought that innovative gadget that downloads music, videos, data, movies and more. You
purchased enough gigabytes and the display looks good. Now you are off and running, finished
downloading your favorite hits, but it comes to the moment you need to transfer and do not know
where to go. Well first of all, you must have iTunes downloaded onto your hard drive. You must
also have a USB Port on your computer so that you can connect the FIREWIRE from the
computer to the IPOD. If you have completed this process then we can go through the process of
transferring your files. Furthermore, you should have your software that came with your IPOD
installed onto your computer, however if you forgot, here we go.
The Complete Steps to Transferring Music onto Nano IPods
If you are transferring the music to your Nano, you will need to install IPODS software, which
came along with the device purchase. You likely have a CD, therefore, plug into the disc drive,
and follow the steps to download the software if you haven't already done so. If you have a MAC
computer, you will need to select the iTune Icon located in your documents and then choose Start
from the menu.
If you are transferring likely you have tunes stored in the play list or library at iTunes program,
otherwise you can import your favorite tunes from a CD, or from your computer up to iTunes
library or play list. If you are considering downloading music before transferring, you will need to
purchase hits from iTunes music window. If you haven't already purchased hits, you will need to
supply a credit card to iTunes purchase window. This is a secured connection so don't worry.
Once you provide your credit card details, you merely select the song you wish to purchase and
the downloading begins. You will see your hits on a list window.
Connecting the Dots
You will need to connect the USB Cable to the back or front of your computer. You will need to
optimize if you are installing on a standard PC that is if the process does not start on its own. If
you have a Mac, you are a lucky dog because it will automatically optimize for you.
Naming the POD
You will need to provide the given name of your device before selecting the transfer option. Once
you click transfer, mechanical actions will unfold. If you have more songs in your library, your hits
will be automatically stored in a play list at iTunes Window.
Once the list appears and all songs are selected for transferring you will need to click on the Next
tab. You will see your IPOD in the Source area of iTunes program. At this point, you will notice an
automatic transferring of your tunes. Once the process completes you will need to click on the
Eject tab, which is generally located near the Source area of iTunes, or on your main window
IPOD. Now you can unplug your IPOD from the computer.
Sounds easy enough, but one thing I learnt about technical gadgets, is it is easier to tell someone
how to perform a function verses them doing it. If you have, difficulty refer to your user's manual,
which should provide your helpful steps in completing the process. If you need additional
assistance, likely you will have technical support available to you; otherwise visit the Internet
where everyone is talking about IPODS. Anyway, hope this information helps you. Happy
transferring, downloading, burning, ripping, or whatever it is you are doing. Ok, now you need to
connect to Mac or Windows with Nano IPOD. Here we go!
Connecting to Windows or MAC Help with Nano IPOD
Now you have it. You went out and bought a $250 gadget and don't have the first clue as to how
it works. Haven't we all did this at one time? Sure, we have, so don't feel bad. It be nice if we
could just beat half the technical devices we own up against a rock and it starts working forever.
Unfortunately, this is not how it works.
Installing Software
Whether you have a Mac or PC, your IPOD came complete with software, which you will need to
install. If you own a MAC, the software will mechanically convert your information over to the
proper functional formats. Windows converts to FAT32 while MAC converts or optimizes rather to
HFS. Sorry, don't yell, didn't realize you were technically disadvantaged. No big deal. I went to
school and achieved two Associate degrees in computers and now I am technically
disadvantaged also. Anyway, FAT is a File Allocation Table that stores files onto your system. If
this table is corrupted, your computer is out of business. Macs HFS is a Hierarchical File Sys.
This is where Mac stores files onto the hard drive. You won't need to worry about optimizing,
since the software will automatically handle this process for you.
Windows Optimizing Installation
You may need to follow steps in optimizing the software programs if you are installing on a
standard computer. You will have a pop-up box with a systematic guide.
Downloading ITUNES Programs onto a Hard Drive
You will also need to download and install iTunes program, since this is what most IPODS refer
as their friends. This program enables you to download, purchase, and play music from a play list
or library. You can also rip, burn, download, and transfer files from this program. Rather, this
program is what you will need to perform all the named actions. I recommend the latest version,
since it is up-to-date and has more to offer than the previous versions. Not only this, if you keep
all software on your computer updated it will spare you in the future from performing technical
actions.
Transferring Files
Once you have installed the program or software that came with your IPOD you are now ready to
plug your IPOD into your computer. You will notice a cord that came with your IPOD, which is
called a USB Cable. This cable connects to a USB Port at the back or front of your computer.
Now you are ready for transferring files, data, photos, music and more to your hard drive. The
FIREWIRE is what you will need to charge your IPOD if it exceeds the battery limit.
During Transfer
After you have selected the music to transfer and the process is in the making, DO NOT stop, or
unplug the device until the update is fully completed. Doing so could corrupt files. Once you see a
message that the process is completed near the source list, then you can hit eject and unplug
your device. Now you have completed the transferring process and are on your way to listening to
your favorite tunes.
Tip
Use your IPOD cautiously, since I've learnt that these gadgets are easily scratched. Who in the
heck wants to pay almost three hundred bucks for a machine all to find it is corrupted.
Since IPODS first came out, they have certainly made new headway. Now everyone and their
brother is buying these wacky gadgets. Therefore, if you have a IPOD, you also have a manual,
which we recommend you employ to learn more about your new Nano IPOD. Now we can view
our photos on the new Ipod.

the movie you want to convert. Now you will press the "Show Chapters" tab at the Interface area.
This will help you find all the files you are searching for to convert.
Highlighting Files for Conversion
Now we are going to highlight the files you want to convert. In Profiles, you will select the targeted
output format, and here you will see a combination box at the interface area. You will now select
the format, which ever you choose (for example MPEG, AVI, WMV, DivX, etc) and the process of
formatting will take place.
Selecting a Format for Output
Once you have finished this process you will now select output formats at the right of the column,
which will show a standard format. Here you can select the video Rit-rates or use the defaults.
Personally, I prefer using the defaults since you can't go wrong often by doing so.
Choosing the Folders and Browsing the Tabs
Now you need to choose the folder named output, and click on the browser tab. Then enter a
path name into the destiny box. Now you will choose the file you wish to convert, by right clicking
on the movie or chapters and then selecting "rip." This will start the converting process.
Ready to Load onto IPOD
Once the converting is completed, you will now move your files over to the Ipod. You will need to
press in the interface the Open tab.
Locating the Files and Sending to the Tunes
Locate the file in the destiny folder and copy it over to iTunes, or else drop and drag it into the
program. You have now successfully completed the converting files onto your moped, whoops
Ipod. If you need additional help, you might want to call in a pro. Anyway, as you can see you can
transfer, or convert nearly any extension file over to your Ipod with ease. All Ipods come with
software, which you will need to download before performing any actions on your computer.
For additional assistance, refer to your user's manual. Now we can burn DVD to Ipod video to
watch a movie on MPEG4 format.
Burning DVD onto Ipod Video to Watch a Movie while utilizing MPEG4 Format
Learning all the new tricks and trades while using an Ipod is sometime harder than people makes
it appear. Ipods are funny little gadgets that enables people to watch video clips, convert files,
listen to music, download tunes, and more. The upside is that with all this complex technology,
software is available that will help you to convert nearly any format to Ipod, DVD, and so forth.
Most software's will finish a rip, burn, or transfer process in a matter of seconds: Depending on
the speed of your computer and Ipod.
It is recommended that you purchase a Video Converter that is compatible with your Ipod to burn
DVDs. This will enable you to rip the movies from your Ipod and load them onto your DVD with
ease. Your can transfer data faster with a converter software program and it will work with
MPEG4 files while burning your DVDs. Be sure to check for MPEG's capability extensions before
downloading or buying software.
A versatile converter software will enable you to rip sounds or movies from your computer or
Ipod. The video converters are nice to have, since the programs provide systematic instructions
for downloading, ripping, or burning. You will receive top dog pictures or sounds in a few minutes
while using the software program converters.
Some of the DVD to Ipod converters will transfer files to match your DVD (Formatting), which will
only take a minute or so then, you are finished. The transferring of videos could include Tivo2Go,
DVD, or DivX. The PQ converter is one of the nicer programs offered over the Internet which
offers speedy transferring capabilities. The program is said to have highly developed editing video
features, which helps you to get quality movies onto your DVDs or Ipods.
Many of the software converters today will support a variety of formats, including MPEG, AVI,
DivX, DVD, RM, Tivo2Go, and more. Some software's will support subtitles. Before you download
any software however, make sure you meet the requirements. Most software's today are
compatible with Windows XP, 2000, 2003, NT, Mac, so forth, and ME.
You will need programs, including Quick Time and iTunes to work your mini Ipod properly. You
can download free copies over the Internet. Some of the programs may cost you, but you can try
the free trials for x amount of days before deciding to buy. The same rules apply to the Ipod
converter software. Still, it's often affordable, therefore if you want quality, sound, and 100%
capabilities then it may be worth your time and money to download and buy the products.
Ipods are new gadgets that everyone seems to want. The downside is many people believe they
can watch movies on the gadgets, while this is only half-true. The fact is you can watch movie
clips, or rip, burn, and transfer movies to Ipods. Still, you will get quality sound and picture if you
follow the steps to transferring your movies onto your Ipod.
The process of ripping, burning, and transferring however is similar to the processes performed
on computers and in various programs. For example, if you ever utilized Real Player or similar
programs you are probably familiar with the processes. The same applies to Ipods; you have
menus, settings, controls and so forth that work according to its title.
Again, before downloading any software programs make sure you computer is compatible. If you
have a manual, you may want to follow the instructions available to you that may inform you how
to burn DVDs to Ipods. Now that we have finished many topics, we can now learn more about the
older Ipod Photo Videos and what they offered.
Old Video Ipods Photo and their Features
Some of the old school Ipods offered less for more. One of the older versions of Apple's Ipods
included the 20-Gigabyte (GB) Hard Drive, which provided sufficient room for downloads. The
display capabilities include a multi-color image and the PC interface required a USB 2.0. Some of
the additional features included Games and Address Books, which the newer versions also offer.
The 20 GB Apple Ipod often came with film protectors and showed sharp, clear, 2-inch colored
pictures on a LCD screen display. The IPods, or few had thousands of pixels and colors to offer
the user.
The device enabled users to store thousands of songs or photos in the comforts of your pocket or
carrying the device anywhere you choose to go. Likewise, you can do the same with the newer
Ipods as you could do with the older versions.
You could connect the photo Ipod onto Windows XP or 2000, or else connect it to Mac OS X. The
Auto including synchronizers, which meant you, had the ability to synchronize your photos, music,
albums, podcasts, or art with the program iTunes. Again, this is the same that the newer versions
offer to users.
Some of the older versions offered fifteen hours of batter life. After reading several articles on
Ipods, I learnt that some of the newer versions, including the Nano Ipod only offered fourteen
hours of battery life. The older version provided you the ability to shuffle through songs by
selecting the hits, and then selecting the options tab from a main menu. The device would play
MP3, Apple Lossless, and AAC formats. You could jog through the files for minutes without worry,
since the device included skipping protectors.
You could also save multiple files at the On-the-Go Play lists, or synchronize your files while
charging the device on a USB 2.0. FireWire Cable. You could either take your files wherever you
wanted to go or else utilize a portable hard drive. The device enabled you to play games in color
anywhere you choose.
The device offered appointment assistance, meaning you could set the Alarm to the correct time,
and setup the sleeper timer. This device would help you stay organized by offering you a colorful
platform to store your contact list, as well as a calendar so that you could set up a list of to dos.
The old Apple Ipod enabled you to connect your Ipod to a projector or else a television, with its
AV cables and watch full-colored slideshows or else listen to your favorite tunes. You had copy
full-resolutions for photos to Ipods and a system that would backup your data, or else enable you
to transfer the files over to any system you choose.
Wow, now what is so different about the old Ipods from the newer versions? Well according to the
sources, the newer versions offer added memory, enabling you to store scores of hit songs onto
one little box. The newer versions provide you additional converting tools, along with additional
extensions for burning, ripping, downloading, or transferring files. According to updates, the
newer versions offer a more powerful system that provides high-quality display where you can
watch movie clips, listen to tunes, download songs, play games, or what have you on a high-
resolution screen.
It sounds like to me that the old Ipods had a lot to offer, so it makes me wonder why someone
would come up with new ideas. The fact is the world is constantly revolving around newer
technology, since it seems to meet the fads as they come along. Well now, we can look more into
the 60GB Ipod Video Photo Fifth Generation and see what it offered.
60GB IPOD Video Photo 5th Generation
If you ever seen the newer Ipods you could compare it to the older versions, including the 60
Gigabyte (GB) 5th Generation copy and you would see that it is a big difference. The older fifth
Generation Ipod Photo was made by Apple and this device came through a product video line.
The fifth Generation Photo Ipod utilized a PC Interface cable, or rather a USB 2.0 connector. The
display capabilities offered multi-colors and images, while its memory compatibilities were limited.
The device held up to 60 Gigs of storage space, and the memory was functioning off a hard drive
alone. You were offered with this Apple Ipod folder support, address book, tuner, FM stereo,
Karaoke, tuner, games, video, integrated speakers, playback and more. Wow, I haven't heard
one report about the newer versions offering Karaoke.
The older version, specifically the fifth generation versions will cost you a pretty penny. While the
newer versions cost a small fortune, you will pay a lot more for this copy. Why Apple decided to
upgrade to newer copies is beyond me, since this copy since to be an original marking.
The fifth generation Ipod, like today's Ipods enabled you to watch video clips, movies, play
games, listen to tunes, download files and so forth all from a cable. At this time, I am not sure
how much battery life this device offered, however, it seems that it would offer more than the
newer versions since it had more features.
The newer Ipods, including the Nano Photo seems to be smaller and thinner than the fifth
generation version, which makes me wonder how it could offer more features than these copy of
Apple's Ipod.
Give me a minute. I am going to locate the owner of a fifth generation Ipod and learn more so that
we can figure out why we need to buy a newer version. I like specifics, accuracy, and facts before
writing down any information.
It seems that the fifth generation Ipod photo was marketed as an MP3 portable player rather than
an Ipod. You could also buy the product with 30 gigabytes or 60, which ever you preferred. The
MP3 Ipod had a decoding audio system built on a chip, along with a dual MHZ 80 ARM
Processor. You also received a Broad-com Video-Core processor as well as a decoder with this
generation Ipod.
The generation Ipod seems to have a quality unfavorable to the users, which the FireWire will not
charge either device, rather synchronize. The Nano version has a headphone jack at the bottom,
while the fifth generation had the jack situated on the top of the player. Still, you had output for
audio and video, as well as an S-video output for data and audio. The device came in a stainless
steel casing and support was available at a low cost.
Apparently, you had navigation buttons, fonts, and the ability to synchronize sounds. You could
use the television to synchronize if you choose to do so, as well as synchronize on the Ipod itself.
The fifth generation Ipod Photo seemed to offer more, since you had playback options, and could
listen to sounds or watch movies as long as three hours. The formats included playback on
MPEG4 or H.264, and you could download more than 7000 songs on a single drive in AAC
formats. This is the encodes by the way.
This device was offered in the early months of October back in 2005. The device also had DRAM,
which was built-in to its unit. The motherboard was either 32 or 64 and held maximum RAM of 32
or 64. It was sometimes in July before the 20 Gigs came available. Now we can go back and
review some of the older generations some more, while considering the second generation ipods.
The Second Generation Ipod Photo Video
Apple's done did it again? They went from first, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, up to the sixth generation in
designing Ipods and the company is still moving. What will they think of next? The fact is some of
the older Ipod photo videos appeared to have more to offer than the newer versions. Still,
technology is advancing so what can we expect.
The older Apple Ipod Photos featured many handy items that enabled you to listen to music,
watch videos, and load up data and more on its hard drive. Some of the older Ipods included dual
ninety Megahertz (MHz) ARMS with a 7TDMI Processor. The devices worked off a single chip
and offered 32 Megabytes (MB) or DRAM. You could also get 5.0 Gigs (GB), 10, OR 20 Gigabyte
Hard Drives. The ten bytes did not come available until the end of March in 2002.
Some of the older Ipod Photos offered a high-output amplifier, which equalized up to 60-mW. You
had what the systems offer today, and that is a FireWire. The headphone jacks were standard
and the LCD displayer was backlit in a 2-inch white format.
One version of Apple's Ipods were introduced in October 2001 and it was discontinued in 2003.
The processors were ARMS and the speed measured out to 90 Megahertz. You had a ROM size
of about 2 Megabytes or 32 rather, and DRAM was built-in to the systems. VRAM was also built-
in to the systems. The standard Random Access Memory (RAM) was around 32 MB, and the
maximum RAM was around 32.
The motherboard provided the user 32 Megabytes, while the RAM had no slots available. You
received a standard 5, 10, or 20 Gigabyte Hard Drive, and an ATA-5 built into the drive. The form
factors were Ipod 7, and the casing was a handheld. The batteries were designed of Lithium
Polymer and would last up to 10 hours max. The fifth generation Ipods seem to last the longest.
You also received a built-in display at 160x128 B&W as well as support for OS with Pixel OS 2.1
or zero. The dimensions were 4.02 x 2.43 and the average weight of the device was around six
and half ounces. The original price of these Ipods was steep yet the prices dropped dramatically
as the newer versions came into focus.
Some of the technical details on the later versions included:
The devices were compatible with Mac OSX v. 10.1 and Mac OS 9.2.1 both in later versions as
well. You received with the package a remote wired control, headphones, case, and clip belt. The
products would most often include a FIREWIRE Interface, which transferred digital formats, as
well as a port. You received an audio book, up to date calendars and schedulers with built-in
clocks and alarms on some of the devices.
Some of the older versions would store more than 7000 tunes, around 20,000 pictures, and
offered over seventy-five hours of playback on both video and sounds. You could watch
slideshows, listen to music, or play them back at leisure.
Comparing the older version to the newer version, we see that one copy of Nano's only enables
the user to store around 1000 hits. The version only has 4 Gigabytes, yet it is compatible to more
than the older versions, yet still remarkably similar. I think what is going on here is a fad. The
older versions died out and the prices dropped so newer versions had to come into focus so that
the companies could make profit. Oh well, so much for dying and growing fads.
The Dying Generation of Apple's Ipod Photo Videos
As new Ipods are coming available, Apple's older versions are creeping behind the walls. Yet,
what can we say about Ipods that we already haven't said. It seems everyday new information is
coming available to help us learn how to use these devices, learn the history of the Ipods, and so
forth. In fact, at one time Ipods were known as MP3 players, which is marketed daily. You can
buy MP3 DVD Players, TVS with MP3 players and so forth.
The Apple Ipod 4 Gigabyte (GB) Nano comes in black or white, which is about the same colors
that many of the older versions came in. Some of the reviews on this particular models gave high
recommendation, yet it was quoted that you should protect the film by avoiding scratching.
Apparently, many of the versions are easy to scratch. The Nano 4 Gigabyte gave good reviews
also on sound quality and color. One of the biggest complaints however is the headphone jack is
located at the bottom of the device. The older versions provided top headphone jacks.
Some of the pros and cons regarding the newer versions included:
The device is very small, yet it will fit in any pocket, hand, or other area easily. The Nano 4 seems
to have a brighter screen verses the mini Ipods version. The volume also seems to be louder than
the mini Ipods. You can store contact numbers and pictures on the device, while the screen will
show these items in full color, which contradicts the mini version. Apparently, this copy is sturdier
than those claiming otherwise are.
One of the downsides is you have to pay close attention to this gadget since you could loose it
easily. The Nano 4 also has a limited number of colors and it will scratch with ease. The
accessories does not include a wall charger plug, only a connector that plugs into your computer.
Apparently, some reviewers say that once you plug the device into a computer it will mechanically
update your music. Some people claim that the battery life lasts less time than what Apple claims.
You will need to play the song hits all the way through and avoid making adjustments to the
volume.
Some people claim that Apple provides detailed instructions to use the Ipods, which is much
easier than some of the other manuals you receive with devices. I personal saw what these
person was saying, since I revised a Sears Manuscript (whoops, manual) for a Dove Tail Fixture.
I never heard of the darn thing until I edited the project, which took around eight hours to
complete between breaks. It took the staff's secretary 2 weeks, since none of these people had a
clue of how to put together a gadget they were promoting. A good editor is needed to deliver
understandable and easy to use manuals.
So, I guess what is the real question? Why are the older versions falling on the back shelves
while the newer versions are taking over? The answer isn't easy, since the fifth generation Ipod
offered a Karaoke whereas I haven't heard anyone mention this feature on the newer devices.
Personally, I enjoy Karaoke; therefore, I would probably buy the fifth generation device over the
newer versions.
One of the things I noticed however is that the new Nano 4 Gig got a good rated overall. I think
only a few people complained about the gadget, yet I haven't heard all the voices speak about the
devices and how they function. So, which version are you buying today? Well now we can get in
on the reviews.
Reviews on Ipod Photo Videos and More
The Ipod Mini is one of the latest Ipods offered today. According to few reviews, this particular
copy has diminishing battery life. One reviewer claim to purchase an Ipod as a gift, and it did not
upload songs into I-tunes program, since the program was unable to recognize the device.
Other reviews claimed that the Ipods lock up easily, while many will claim good remarks about the
gadgets. Another review claimed he paid a fortune for the gadget, and like other reviewers were
dished by Apple's customer service reps after, complaining about the battery life and hard drive
failures after the warranty expired.
It seems these Ipods are bringing forth trivia from all over the world, since some people like them
while others do not. The ratings from some reviewer's game outstanding ratings on sound quality,
features, value, and so forth. The battery life was stable, while others complained the life would
fall dramatically. According to reports, you can only charge your Ipod at your computer. Some of
the devices today offer more than others do apparently.
Anyways, some of these gadgets are getting very negative results while others are twisting the
minds of all that owns them. The Apple Ipod Shuffle is one of the newer developers, yet it is
claimed to give bad battery life, and it misses features while only working with I-tunes program.
The Ipod comes with 512 Megabytes (MB) or 1Gigabyte (GB). This versions seems to be one of
the more affordable products.
The Ipod White 30 Gigs (GB) is a digital media-playing device. Apparently, this gadget has good
sound, and is easy to use. Some people claim the device is durable and the battery life is good.
The portable device has outstanding 2.5 display, controls, good sound and video color, yet it does
not support all formats people choose. It also has degrading battery power if you use the videos
playback option and will only charge on USB cables. Some reviewers claim that if you play videos
it will drain the battery.
The Applaud Ipod claims to offer high quality sound and picture, durability, and outstanding
battery life. Some reviewers claim however, the battery power decreases tremendously during
playback or video watch. Some say it does not come with a FIREWIRE File Transferring
Supporter, has less accessories than some of the other brands and so forth.
The 5G Ipod is thinner than the other brands offered, yet the LCD screen is half a size larger.
Unlike Nano, the 5G has headphone jacks at the top rather than at the bottom of the device. The
advantage of the 5G over other versions is that it is layered with Resin, which makes it less apt to
scratch easily.
The Ipod has a capability to play encoded movies in MP4 or H264 format, and has the ability to
store photos, art, or slideshows. The battery power according to claimed testers will last through
song playbacks around fourteen hours and video around two and one half hours. This gadget has
a 30 gig hard drive, Stop Watch, Clock and Screen Locking device.
The Ipod 30G received fairly good ratings. Seems this gadget can download more tunes that any
other Ipod on the market according to reports. Anyway, the Ipods are something to consider if you
are running, jogging, or walking down the street. For the most part it is a portable gadget that fits
in the palm of your hand and enables you to listen to music, play videos and more anywhere you
travel. For more information type in the keywords Ipod and go: Now we can look at different styles
of Ipods.
The Different Styles of Ipod Photo Videos
There are different styles and models of Ipod Videos made by Apple to name. One of the older
versions, which was the fifth generation, seem to offer more than many of the Ipods today. The
Apple Ipod video White copy is a 30-Gigabyte (GB) Digital Media player that stores around the
same amount of songs as the fifth generation version. The 30 Gig has a 30-Gigabyte hard drive,
4.8 ounce Audio File, and is compatible with WAV, MP3, AIFF, AAC, and VBR. The video file
formats is H264 and MPEG4, while the display size is around 2.5, a little larger than other brands.
The Ipod Video Black 30GB is another of the media players that has a 30 Gig hard drive and will
hold around 7500 hits on the drive. Like the White version, this gadget offers the same features
overall.
The Ipod Black 60 Gigabyte Media Player has a 60 Gig Hard Drive, and will store up to 15000
hits on the drive, as well it has a five and one half ounce size, and the audio files compatibilities
include WAV, VBR, MP3, AAC, and AIFF. The Video formats are the same as the previous
version; as well, the display size is 2.5.
The older versions are still the same price as many of the newer versions, yet some players cost
more than others cost. If you really want a tip on buying a Ipod Video, player your best bet is
checking out the reviews. You can also scan for bargains; however, some people claim there are
no bargains available.
As for downloading videos, music, movies, games or data, that is if you are one of those people
that overrides the hard drive limit, your best bet is finding the largest hard drive and amount of
RAM on the market.
As for battery life, some people claim that half of the products available do not offer the time limit
to power of battery as claimed. Therefore, reading the reviews can help you contrast and
compare if you are on the market for buying an video Ipod.
The fifth generation Ipod according to owners will store a complete movie. The Ipod can hold up
to 100 movies, and around 15000 MP3 files. It will also hold up to 2500 photos. The software
comes with the Ipod, which works with I-tunes and it will also work with some of the off marketed
brand software.
It seems to me that the older version, specifically the fifth generation has more to offer. I am
waiting to hear how long it will stay charged and how it is charged. Many of the Ipods today can
only be charged on a computer. This is inconvenient if you are using an Ipod for a length of time
and away from a computer.
The third generation Ipod will last up to eight hours on a three-hour charge. This gadget has a 40
gig hard drive, which will store around ten thousand songs, and will support VBR, MP3, WAV,
AAC, AIFF and a couple other formats. Its FIREWIRE and USB interface is claimed to make this
device one of the fastest transfers on the market. You get a dock station, which makes
synchronizing and charging the device easy. This device like many others come with a remote
control, case, adaptor, and headphones. Anyway, we've discussed a few brands offered on the
market. Hope this information helps you along your Ipod journey. Don't forget to check out the
new sites coming available with low priced music. You can download up to hundreds of articles or
hits at a low cost today.
Information about Video Ipod Photos
Since the first Ipod revisions were made that replaced the older generation Ipods, yet where the
changes good? Now we have five generations of Ipods. The devices has memory and hard drive
space that enables users to download, transfer, rip, burn, or store videos, music, photos, and
more onto the drives. The Gigabytes or Megabytes however are not precise, in that the Ipod's
features and other details suck up some of the memory. Still, some of the Ipods today will store
thousands of songs, hundreds of movies and so forth with little problem.
A few of the differences between the older versions and newer versions is that the older versions
did not have the touch pads, while the newer Ipods do. I suppose this makes the gadget easier to
use, however I would believe it would make it case sensitive.
According to few, the older Ipods were only compatible to Mac, however few people claim that
the fifth generation Ipod would work with Windows.
Battery power is another issue. Many reviewers claim that the life of a battery on a single Ipod is
not as sufficient as it was at what time the older versions were available. The biggest complaints
of these newer Ipods is that they scratch easy and the power of the battery does not last as long
as the manufacturers claim. The Nano has a headphone jack at the bottom of the device, which is
also frustrating a lot of users. I guess another complaint regarding the newer versions is that you
can only charge them on a computer. This presents a major problem if you are using the device
and don't have a computer in sight.
The Ipod 30GB is one of the latest Ipods available today that has a built-in FIREWIRE. The
device works with Max OS, Windows ME, Windows XP both Home and Professional Editions,
and Windows 2000. If it were true that the older versions didn't work with standard PCs I'd think
the majority of people purchasing these gadgets would own a Mac. Mac is one of the less bought
computers on the market, yet many designers and other type of business-oriented people would
buy this product. Shoot, they were basically the only ones that could afford a Mac. Therefore, this
leads me to believe that the older versions would work on standard PCs.
The hardware specifics on the 30G included a display screen at around 2 inches, while some of
the other brands include a half-inch larger screen. The gadget has a LCD and Led backlights with
a fairly high resolution as for pixel. The pixels is what determines the colors and size of the
screen. You also get more compatibility it seems with the latest versions. Most players will work
with all types of formats as well, and some come with built-in rechargeable batteries made of
lithium ion, which could give you up to eight hours of music.
It depends on what you are searching for, but many of the players offer the same thing, just a little
less details, or a little more features. The new Nano is one of the most popular brands of Ipods
available today.
The thing is if companies are going to build the Ipods, they need to build Ipods with rechargeable
batteries to outlets. I can only see an advantage of having one of these toys and that is if you are
a jogger, walker, bicycler, runner, and the like. Anything outside of this lists makes me wonder
what the purpose is, other than keeping up with a fad, which often passes quickly. Now, let's
move on and fix a few other problems that you may have with your Ipod.
Fixing Ipod Video Photo Problems
If you own an Ipod, you might want to invest in a few software programs, since from what I hear
the programs can offer you easier recovery and so forth. Like computers, data could get lost on
these devices, however according to few it is harder to lose files on an Ipod than what it is on a
computer. Some of the common problems seem to be volume formatting which alerts you when
an unknown error occurs. You may even receive a capacity error, or the Ipod could freeze up.
The downside is if this happens and you decided to remove the battery to attempt unfreezing, or
reset to resolve the problem, you could loose data. You can also accidentally delete your files
while logged into I-tunes. Still, you will need to reset your Ipod, especially if it freezes, which puts
your files at risk.
Resetting an Ipod
If you need to reset the Ipod you may want to refer to your user's manual to guide you through
the process. You can also utilize your touch pad and scrolling wheel while connecting to a
computer or outlet. You will need to plug in your adaptor, and then toggle the pad while holding
down the switch directing it to off and on mode. You can also reset the Ipod by clicking the Select
tab and then the Menu simultaneously. This may work if the Ipod freezes up.
Repeating the Process and Avoiding Overload Tips
You can now press down on the play and pause tab located at the menu and hold it in place. The
screen should appear after a few seconds, however if it does not you will need to repeat these
process until something happens. One thing you should avoid is overloading a hard drive. Just
because it has plenty of room, does not mean it has tons of space. This is a big mistake many
people make. Never take for granted that something offers more than it really does. If you have
1G hard drive and load scores of files that reach or exceed its limit, you are going to experience
freezing and all that good stuff as a result.
Tips for Software Recovery Programs
You may want to purchase a data recovery program that works with your Ipod. I don't care what
technology does to enhance technical devices; there isn't one developer capable of designing a
device where disaster can't touch. IPods are like computers; you can lose information, corrupt it,
and so forth. Ipods also encounter bug attacks just like computers, which puts your files at risk.
Anything utilized with the Internet is never safe from corruptions, bugs, loss, and so forth no
matter who tells you otherwise.
Help with Recovery Programs
Anyway, the data recovery programs could help you easily restore your files. You should always
backup your files no matter what, especially if you are paying cash for the videos, music, games,
or movies stored on your Ipod. Also, some people upload valuable files to their Ipod, which
backup could come in handy if those files are lost.
Therefore, the best tip anyone can give you is backup all your important data, free up space when
possible, avoid risky sites, and follow maintenance steps as needed. You can go online and get
additional help with freezing, backup and more. Keeping informed will also help you avoid
problems.
If you are continuing to have freeze ups on your Ipod, you may need to request technical support
from the company who sold you the device or who made the gadget. Try to take care of the
problem before the warranty expires.
More about Ipod Video Photos
We can only learn so much about these gadgets it seems, yet everyone around the world is
talking about them, so I guess we have a lot to learn no matter how much information is provided.
It seems the world is now revolving around MP3 and Ipods. More and more people are taking
delight in a gadget that enables them to watch movies, listen to music, and play games and store
pictures while on the run.
Many reviews on the Worldwide Net are coming to the fore with some reviewers complaining,
while the others are lifting the spirits of those interested in purchasing an Ipod. The newest
version is the Nano, which has sufficient hard drive space, and RAM, and offers more features
than some of the older versions. Yet, the older versions still has something to give us that the
newer versions don't have to offer.
What are we to do if we are not familiar with these gadgets, yet contemplating on buying one in
the future? Like Captain and Tennille said, "You better shop around." Shopping around on the
Internet is ideal, since here; you will find reviews, information, details, specifics, and more all at
the click of a button. You can also visit the stores; however, you won't have a selection of
information that will guide you in the right direction most times.
Another ideal is asking friends or families to see if they own a Ipod and what their experiences
may be. This is where you are going to get the facts for the most part, with the exceptions of
users that are honest over the Internet. Listening to the company or sellers will only get you a
pitch most times. I run at what time I see a sales person coming my way. It's boogie time, i.e. is
me getting the heck out of Dodge. Rather I prefer to read, learn, and move along without those
people interfering in my purchasing process.
The final decision is yours if you are searching to purchase an Ipod. The thing I can tell you is, if
you like it fast then get a drive with sufficient space and RAM as high as the gadgets make them.
I have close to a 1 Gigabyte (GB) of Memory on my computer and for what I do, it is never
enough. Therefore, if you like speed then buy what you need.
Ipods is a popular item at the moment. A good tip is waiting awhile and hoping the prices drop,
because at this point the manufacturers are getting around $300 give or take for these systems.
The downside is they scratch easy, which could put you out of business fast if you are not
constantly monitoring your activity while using this device.
Personally, I didn't know a heck of a lot about these gadgets until I began writing 50 articles and
at this point, I'm convinced this item is not for me. I am not about to work hours on into the night
for weeks to pay for a gadget that may or may not last. Furthermore, you can purchase
computers or stereos nowadays for less the cost. If you are looking for a fad, then this gadget is
definitely up your alley.
Anyway, most of the music, videos, games, and so forth offered over the Internet may provide
you cheap sounds, videos and movies. Make sure you read up on downloads of music, sharing
files and so forth before venturing off into Ipod land. Again, staying informed could actually save
you more than a few dollars along the path. Now we can grow and learn with the new generation
Ipods.
Video Ipod Photo Growing and Learning
I guess if you want to walk around all day with earphones over your head listening to your favorite
tunes, then these gadgets are good to go. All of us have our own lifestyles and own choices in
life, which sometimes includes finding a peace of mind while wandering through life. The new and
old versions of Ipods has sprung up with all types of complaints, cherishing words, and so forth.
Makes you wonder what they will come up with next all to fill fads, lifestyles and more.
Technology is constantly developing something that makes people interested. These new devices
is at the top, since nearly the whole world has Apple on the brain. I'm over here writing 50
articles, the kids all over town are encouraging mom and dad to buy them a new Ipod, and
everyone else is perking up at what time the word comes from someone's mouth. I wonder if
grandpas and grandmas are buying these items. Sure, why not, they love music just like anyone
else. Are these devices really that easy that anyone technology or not advanced can work them.
According to some, they devices are easy to use, while others are claiming at the start the
devices are hard to understand.
Ipods to me are old news, since I've heard of the MP3 Players from some time ago. However,
some people are not familiar that the Ipods at one time were sold as MP3 Media Players. You
can purchase a MP3 Media Player at stores from all over, and these players come in all forms.
Makes me wonder how an Ipod today may sound. The MP3 players spill out quality sound and
picture while playing movies or music. Therefore, what does these little gadgets offer to us?
Some reviewers claim the players have good sounds, while others will argue otherwise.
The fact is Ipods are offering something that Walkman Stereos did not offer to the community.
The Walkman stereos were bulky items you could clip onto your belt, loops, or some you had to
walk around with the product in your hands. These was a pain. Still, Walkmans were a lot
cheaper than the new Ipods.
Apple nowadays is offering a variety of Ipods and most of the products are easier to carry than
the old Walkmans. Some of the products Apple started out with were the first, second, third,
fourth, and fifth generation. Now Apple is marketing the Ipod 30 Gigabyte (GB), or 60 GB. You
can also purchase the Ipod Nano, which has 1, 2, or 4 Gigabytes of RAM. The Ipod Shuffle is
also available and it offers 512 Megabyte (MB) or 1 Gig of Random Access Memory. (RAM)
The Ipod Mini has various color functions and holds up to 4 or 6 Gigabytes of files. Some say this
device is discontinued, which makes me think the world has gone mad. With this much memory
who wouldn't buy one of these gadgets, I guess Nano replaced this item. Still, you can get up to 4
Gigs on the Nano Ipod.
Nowadays, you can get Ipods with collectors idols incorporated into the system. People seem to
pay for these items regardless the cost. The first Ipod came available back in 2001 and now we
are hearing about Ipods like never before. Apple is in constant competition regardless, since in
2002 the Nomad Jukebox was designed, which forced Apple to come up with the 10 Gigabyte
Ipod in 2002. Ten Gigs get out of here! Computer manufacturers should come up with a 10 Gig,
which I would happily buy. What we all know about Ipod, and video photos is left to be uncovered.
What We All Know about Video Ipod Photos
What we all know about video Ipod photos is left up to the mind of all of us. One thing we all do
know is that these gadgets are a hot item. Like all other fads, the Ipods grow and then fad,
however Ipods has been available for years now, and it seems everyone is getting one.
The Ipods today can hold up to 10 Gigabytes; rather at one time, the gadgets could hold this
amount of RAM. The gadgets work on a hard drive, Memory, and enables us to view music,
slides, movies and more on pixel screens.
First Generation Video Ipod Photo
The first generation Ipod provided us with a ARM Processor 7YDMI times 2, and a processor
speed at 90 Megahertz, which if you knew anything about computers, you would know this was
insufficient speed. Or rather, it is for someone that works fast on computers. The ROM size on
the 1st generation Ipod was around 32 Megabytes and it had a built-in Virtual Random Access
Memory chip. (VRAM)
You received a standard RAM of 32, and max ram of 32 MB. The motherboard was only 32 Mb
and no slots existed in the device. Your received with this device a ATA-5 Hard Drive INT., and a
Standard Hard Drive at around 5, 10, or 20 Gigs. What a remarkable differences if you are aware
of the newer devices offered today. You also received a lithium polymer, battery type, which
powered the battery up to ten hours. The built-in screen resolution is standard and the pix
supported OS. The device only weighed in at 6.5 ouches and the listed price was around four
hundred or five hundred bucks at what time it first came out.
Second Generation Ipod Video Photo
The second generation Ipod was similar to the 1st generation device. The Apple 4 Gig Mini Silver
version only had a 1.67-inch backlit diagonal screens that displayed music, movies and so forth.
The battery power lasted up to eighteen hours according to reviews and it came with belt clip,
headphones, and cable for connecting the device to a computer. You could store around 1000
songs on the machine and it would support AAC, MP3 VBR, MP3, Audible 6, AIFF, and WAV
formats. The device would work with Mac and a standard computers on a Windows Operating
System. (OS) You also received a FIREWIRE and USB interface 2.0 cable. This supposedly
offered a rapid transfer.
The Apple 20 GB Photo provided up to fifteen hours of playback on music, five hours of
slideshow playback and came complete with adaptors, USB cable, and headphones. This product
is compatible with the Mac OS systems, Windows both Pro and Home Editions and would work
with Service Pack 4, as well as later versions installed on Windows OS. You could also store over
5000 hits on the drive, and up to twenty thousand photos. It is supported by Lossless, VBR, MP3,
AAC, AIFF, WAV, and Audible formats, as well as being ready for podcast. The screen was 2-
inches in diagonal size with colorful LCD/LED backlights.
Apple 60 GB Photo certainly provided loads of storage area for videos, music, games, data,
photos and more.
As you can see Apple is making changes, but in some areas, the changes are few and limited.
One thing we can say about Apple technology is that one little gadget has set off the world,
leading them into sounds, photos, videos, movies and more.
The Nano seems to be the hottest item on the market today, therefore you may want to get up on
the scope and check out Nano and see what it can do for you. Reviewing the miscellaneous news
on Ipods can help you learn more.
Miscellaneous Details on Video Ipod Photos
Get the News
The newest item on the market is Nano. Where did Nano get its name? Nano is the smallest and
thinnest Ipod on the market today, which is where Apple considered Nano. The little critter is thin
as paper, light, and will go anywhere the user chooses to go. Some of the other devices included
the 30 GB and 60 Gigabyte Ipods. These Ipods are runner up to Nano, yet they are not taking the
lead, since Nino offers 1, 2, or 4 Gigabytes of memory. The Shuffle offers either 512 Megabytes
(MB) or 1 Gigabyte. What a big difference. Now you can see how Nino is in first place and how its
name possibly came available.
Apple has been delivering Ipods for some time now. Once of the first Ipods known as the first
generation Ipod launched in 2001. Since then other items came available with the focus of
increasing memory, while delivering a more powerful device. The later versions of Ipods had non-
mechanical click buttons, while the newer versions has a scroll wheel that is operated
mechanically, this feature alone has impressed millions. This feature also meet one of Apple's
goals.
At what time the Ipods came on the market, the software commonly employed to download,
transfer, rip, burn and so forth was I-tunes. This software is still employed today. The only real
difference between some of the older versions and the newer versions is the newer models offer
enhanced features and will operating on a Windows Platform. The older versions according to
few worked only on Mac computers. This must have been a headache, since many reviewers
claim that the chargers only work on computers.
How does the device work?
The Ipods work with a connector. You merely connect the USB adaptor to the computer and you
are off to the races. You must download software for the products to work properly, which
includes the software that comes with the device. Most times, you will get the proper drivers, as
well as I-tunes. Some of the I-tunes capabilities enabled you to transfer files from your Ipod onto
your computer and vise versa. You could transfer PDF formatted files, including album notes
scanned, CD inserts for imported music, Lyrics, photos and more.
Nowadays, it is easier than ever to transfer, burn, rip, decode, and what have you, since you can
purchase software that works with your Ipod. I prefer easy over complex any day, and according
to reports these software programs performs amazing actions rapidly. So you see you get speed,
sound, picture, color, actions and more all rolled into one.
Most of the converting software programs have requirements. You must have Windows XP/Windows 9x,
Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 Server to operate the device and/or software. You may
need additional drivers, or tools such as, DirectX 8.0 and up, at least 32 Megabytes (MB) or RAM (Random
Access Memory) or higher, and a VGA Card, or MMX-Enhanced Central Processing Unit (CPU), or
powerful.
One of the things that sticks out in my mind however is that the Ipods seem to enable users to
share files, which we will consider at a later time. Apparently, family and friends can share files
over a server at any time they choose as long as they are following the steps. The Ipods all come
with manuals, which according to claims the manuals are easier to follow than most manuals on
the market. What more can you ask for. Simplicity, sound, quality, free downloads and more all at
the click of a button. Now we can share files.
Ipod Video Photos Sharing Files
Now you can share files on a little, bitsy device. On computers, you can share files through e-
mails, Instant Messengers, Chat Rooms, and so forth. Likewise, on Ipod photos, you can share
files across a platform of electrical circuits and the process is merely a click away. Still, you are
better off with software, since it provides you an easy set of tools to get the job done sooner. You
will also need I-tunes, which you should've already downloaded at the moment you purchased
your Ipod Video Photo.
I-tuning Settings in I-tunes Menu for File Sharing
You should set your settings in I-tunes if you intend to share files. In the I-tunes Menu, you will
see a Copy Files tab, which you should set to off. The file is located in the music folders are found
at the Advanced Preference area.
Most Ipod users will share files by downloading, transferring, burning, ripping or copying the files
over to their computer. You can use I-tunes program to perform all actions necessary to share
files. Once the files are on your computer you can use e-mail or whatever choice of tools you like
to deliver files to your friends or family.
File sharing is an ongoing favorite. Most people will share pictures, music, movies, games, data
and more through an Ipod connection. You want to be careful however, since lawsuits are
pending regarding file sharing. It is illegal to share music, videos, games, and movies that you do
not own the original copies.
Using your User's Manual for Sharing Files
To learn more about file sharing refer to your user's manual. The guide will walk you through
steps; inform you of possible problems and more. You will likely learn that software programs are
available to you that will help you share files with ease. One of the most frustrating tasks is going
through the process without knowing what you are doing.
The file sharing software may be in your best interest because some of the programs offer
valuable tools. For example, few programs offer No Spyware protection, which includes no
bundles. You won't experience pop-ups or Trojans while using the program according to the
sellers. You can also get rapid downloads, free downloads and more. Some of the freebies
offered with the file sharing programs includes music, photos, videos, games, data, and more.
The programs are often trouble-free to install onto your hard drive. Most times, you will receive a
systematic guide that will walk you through the steps. Few software programs are available on
the Internet, which you can use for a short time and then decide to buy the program after the trial
date has completed. You may want to wander around on the Internet, since you may get lucky
and get some helpful tips or some real free software programs for file sharing.
Make sure the software programs you employ have secure usage, which also will protect you
against viruses. Similar to computers, Ipods gets bugs, which can lead to trouble. No one wants
to pay a high cost for a gadget that locks up on them. You will also need to protect your private
information, and filter your information so that children don't receive inappropriate materials.
If you frequently employ your Ipod, you may want to check out other helpful software programs
that could provide you a way out in the event a disaster should occur. No one can predict disaster
and all technical devices are never bulletproof. You never can tell when a bug will run up and bite
your device, which help on the spot would come in handy. Ready to download files onto your
Ipod: Downloading Files onto Ipod Video Photo Devices
Ipod video photo devices are gadgets that enable users to download files, music, videos, movies, games
and more. The iPods are handy, since you can carry the device in your pocket or in your hand, or clip it onto
your belt. You also have the advantage watching favorite movies, listening to tunes, or playing games
anywhere, you choose. To help you get the most out of your iPods we can consider downloads.
Downloading files, including music and videos is fairly an easy process. You should exercise patients while
downloading and never halt a process. Be sure to make sure you are connected properly before getting
started.
Downloading I-tunes
You will need I-tunes, so if you haven't already downloaded run up to the Search Engine, type in I-tunes and
visit the website. Once there, you will download the software onto your hard drive for free, and you are on
your way to downloading your favorite tunes and videos.
Downloads is one of the biggest advantages that Ipod users take advantage of while owning the device.
Most people will download music to take to work, walk, run, job, or what have you. The device enables you
to download favorite songs without buying a complete album. Most of us are aware that music is expensive
and most albums have one or two songs worth listening to, while the other songs are to someone else's
likings.
To download music then you will need I-tune. At what time you purchased your gadget, you were delivered
all the connectors that hook up to your computer. Once you hook up the device to the computer, start up I-
tunes you are a step away from downloading music onto your Ipod.
Downloading Videos onto a Ipod Device
If you are downloading a video onto your Ipod, you can select the title of the video to download, or the
thumbnail image. The Video tab will appear on your screen in a drop-down box. Next, you will choose the
Video option and afterward click the Download button. Now you can save the video anywhere you choose
on your hard drive. After you have saved the video on your computers hard drive, connect the adaptors or
USB cables to your computer. You will need to open the I-tunes Apple Application box, and choose the Add
Files, which will send to the Library. You can find this option in the Files Menu. Once you locate the video
downloaded, you will need to select the Open tab. Next, in I-tunes you will need to click the Edit tab, which is
located under Preferences. Click on the Videos tab and once the mechanically process is updated, click the
OK tab.
Now that your files are on the Ipod you can select Videos in the Ipods menu and sit back, relax and watch
your movie.
If you are downloading music, you can follow the same steps, except you will need to select the Music Icon
instead of videos. Most of the downloading processes are relatively easy. You merely follow the steps and
the process will flow without problem. You should never interrupt an automatic processing update while
downloading your files. This could cause the file to corrupt, or you could loss the file through the process.
Your manual will have some helpful tips available for downloading files, videos, music, movies, games, and
data. Take advantage of the manual and see what else you can do with your new gadget.
Tips
Most of the keys in your menu windows will give you a hint as to what the keys will do. For example, Edit is
obvious. Now we can listen to the beat with Ipod Video Photo Complete.
Listening to the Beat with Ipod Video Photo Complete
Listen to the sounds as you walk down the streets. Listen to the tunes as you work at that hot
sweaty office. With the new Ipods now, you can listen to the beat nearly anywhere you choose.
Where are these gadgets leading us?
The newer Ipods are similar to the older copies, except the devices offer enhanced features. Now
you can store thousands of songs, hundreds of movies, and countless photos onto one little
technical device. The nano is the smallest of the Ipods on the market, yet this little critter will store
tons of music onto a single hard drive.
The three choice Ipods today are the 30-60 Gigabytes, Nano, which has up to 4 Gigabytes or less
to choose from, and the Shuffle. Not a single Ipod has matched Nano at this time, but in the
future, we can expect something new, since at one time Apple had a device that offered 10 or 20
Gigabytes of storage.
The Mini was discontinued at what time Nano stepped in, yet this Mini machine offered up to 6
gigabytes. How insane! The Mini had more room to download songs, movies, slides, videos and
so forth, yet Nano took over with only 4 Gigs. Where we robbed? Probably not, since most likely
something was lacking with the 6 Gig device.
Ipods today look pretty much the same as they did at one time. The only true differences is that
the Ipods today have touch buttons, while the older versions were clickable. Now we have an
automatic scrolling device, rather than a non-mechanic pad. According to few the first Ipods
would only operate on Mac, while the newer versions are compatible with Windows XP both
home and pro editions, as well as Windows NT, ME, 2000, and so forth.
Apple took advantage of the interest the Ipods received, by later offering carry cases, USB
cables, and headphones. Most products sold before this only came with the USB cable. The
prices of the Ipods seem to match at both old and new. Still, you can look around and locate
cheaper Ipods over the Internet.
The only Ipod this far that has peeked my interest however is the fifth generation Ipod. This Ipod
had all the equipment I need to have a good time. Not only could you listen to music, you were
capable of singing along with the lyrics beating through the speakers. That's right this gadget had
a Karaoke Systems incorporated into the device. What a hit!
Sometimes at what time companies are claiming to make things better, they only set the better
back on the shelves.
Outside of Nano, other systems are offered that seem less attractive. For example the 6 Gig
which sounds good as far as storage space goes, however the screen is only 1.67 inches
diagonally. What a short-y to watch movies on. However, this six-gig device had eighteen hours
of battery power according to the sellers. You could store thousands of songs on the drive, as
well as transfer files at rapid speeds.
Many of the Ipods came in the colors Silver, White, or Black; however, the Apple Mini 4 GB Ipods
were blue. You could listen to the beat on a turquoise sound box. This device also had a smaller
screen, yet the battery power outweighed some of the other Ipods battery life. This particular Ipod
would only hold around one thousands songs however. Matching color over space, you could see
most people would rather listen to the beat on a less attractive player with more storage space.
Ipod Video Photo Plus
Ipods are the hottest gadget on the market it seems. What more can we say about Ipods that we
haven't said before. It goes on and on, and as the year's go by, so does Apple the manufacturers
of Ipods. Nowadays, people are walking down the streets listen to music and passerby's with the
same gadget will walk by and acknowledge each other, or else share tunes across a roadway.
How crazy can you get?
The Ipods are like mini computers, since you can burn, rip, download, listen to music, play videos,
store files, share files and do all those wonderful things that computers enable you to do. The
only difference is you have a tiny device that you can carry with you anywhere you visit. Well
now, there are additional differences here, but still you get the point. I am yet to see Apple come
out with a Ipod that will perform all actions a current computer will perform. This will be a trip
everyone will be on for real. And I don't mind saying, this is at what time my interest my increase.
Technology developers are continually concocting something new that perks the interest of the
society. The game equates to Profit - Competition -What I like - How many people will buy this
item and so forth. Now the whole world is trying to make a killer while trying to outdo the next guy.
What a life. These innovative gadgets is at the top of the market currently, since Ipods new
revolutionary hit. The get-up is the many sellers and developers will claim the Ipods are easy to
use and offers more now than it ever did. According to reports, the Ipods have easy to use
manuals, which walks you through the steps, while others will argue the point.
As for myself, I would love anything that offered understandable manuals. Most times, I want to
rip manuals in half rather than read them. Heck, I would love any device that is easy to use, but
one thing I learnt while dealing with computers is that people will tell you anything to sell you
anything. I'm not ready to take the challenge, but hey if you are, then go on with your bad self. I
do hope that all the claims of ease is true however.
Not only are Ipods coming into the top choice of purchases, the websites are marketing free
downloads to galore. Most of the music, videos, games, and so forth made available over the
Internet circuits may supply you low cost sounds, videos and movies. Yet you want to be sure you
understand that the free downloads and file-sharing files could land you in a world of trouble. You
should get in on the news before downloading any free items over the Internet. As a copyrighted
author and writing, I do know that any hits available where the artist has passed on and no one
has claimed the hits, is often free to the public. Still, read up on the copyright laws so that you can
understand more about your rights. The laws are constantly changing, therefore change with the
laws.
Also, realize that nowadays you can get free software programs that will help you perform all
sorts of functions on an Ipod, computer or what have you. The software programs for Ipods
include file-sharing tools, converting tools, downloading tools and more. Still, you want to check
out what I-tunes has to offer you, since this program may have all you need to transfer, burn, rip,
copy, or what have on its systems menu. Get your Ipods, videos, and photos to go!
Ipods Videos and Photos to Go
Brief History of Walkman and the Boom Box, which Lead to Ipod
During the 60s and 70s, you had to sit around in an old rocking chair to listen to music or watch videos. You
could also run to the local tavern and hope a band was blaring sounds to the open public. Sometimes you
could even sit on the porch while your friends or family played a guitar, or else you could visit the local
theatres. After the 70s, however Walkman made the spotlight along with the new Boom Systems. This was
all people needed, since now they could walk down the streets while listening to their favorite songs. Still,
the could not watch movies, view slides, videos or pictures on the device. It wasn't until 2001 that this
become noticeable true to developers, who in turn changed the entire outlook of pictures, videos, audio,
music, movies and more.
Ipods is the latest item on the market that is making everyone take notice. The Ipods today enable people to
download, transfer, rip, burn, copy, share, and store files on a single hard drive while taking the device
anywhere they choose. They can now sit in the office, walk the streets, or visit a friend while listening to their
favorite hits. I am waiting for the disadvantages to stand up in the crowd.
Drunk drivers are always the pick-on of choice. Yet most wrecks are caused by people falling asleep at the
wheel, not paying attention to the roads and so forth. One of these days we might hear the laws tell us that
Ipods are a nuisance to drivers and is causing loads of problems, yet for now, Ipods is the hit.
PDF Files Clearing up Space thru Compression
In fact, this handy little device is impressing so many people that Apple is working on newer
developments and models. In the future Apple is working toward building a multi-functional touch
screen machine that will work as a handheld PDA or else a mobile phone. Who knows we might
even have a built-in camera or webcam loaded onto the device. PDF stands for Portable
Document Format and was designed by Adobe in the late 90s. PDF was designed to compress
huge files, such as documents and/or books, e-books etc, compressing them into smaller and
readable formats compatible with most of the PCs. This saved space on a hard drive in the
meantime.
I-tunes revolutionary changes
I-Tunes is a manager program that is commonly used with Ipods, and today Apple has included
innovative features that will allow Ipod users to organize their music, movies, books, photos,
videos, slides and so forth. The features were designed by Apple in an effort to enable music
stores to sell not only tunes, but also movies and other related materials. Above all, all these
features can be used to enhance one's own music library, which is a rewarding change.
If you think about this strategy, you will see that the ideal probably came from the library itself. Most people
can walk through a library and locate anything they choose by reading indexes and directories. These new
featured program is similar, since you can locate your files in a play list or library while using the programs
index and directories to locate the files. All this is possible, and yet I-tunes connects with Ipods, while Ipods
connect with computers. The three-way chain affair is taking people to many heights. With Ipods, it seems
the sky is the limit.
Tips
If you are considering an Ipod, think smart and consider all reviews on a product before buying. Now we can
finally see where Ipods are taking over music, videos, games, movies and so on.
Ipods Taking over Music, Videos, Photos, and Games
The world of technology is ever changing. At one time, we started out with Walkmans, Boom
Boxes, Cameras, 8-Tracks, Nintendo, and so forth. Now we have a little gadget swarming the
market peeking everyone's interests, making us wonder if game systems, sound boxes, TVs, and
so forth will have a lot in life. What do you think?
The Evolution of PS2 (PlayStation)
The PlayStation Systems is one of the biggest hits on the market, yet at what time PlayStation
advanced and came out with the latest system, all the systems previous to this design went on
the back burner. Likewise, Ipod in the early 2000s came up with a remarkable (MP3 Media
Player), which is now known as an Ipod and tossed it aside as innovative revolutionary features
took off in the minds of the developers and landed on the market. What can we offer the people
that everyone would want? They of course thought about what they would want from a little
device and rolled with the flow thereafter.
What will they think of next? Well, that is already a question in loads of heads. The fact is Apple is
currently is working on innovative technology devices, and some believe that these devices will
override computers and put them on the back burners. NOT! No one in their right mind is going to
sit with a gadget in front of them while typing resumes, essays, books, and so forth on a small
pixel window screen. Heck, a fifteen-inch computer screen is too small in my eyes. Or, at least
not from where I am looking. Still, these devices has made such a remarkable statement that
everyone is wondering what will they come up with next. In the previous versions of Apple's Ipods
the users had only a few options.
At one time Apple only offered a gadget that would connect the Ipod with Mac OS, which
hindered the computer users from having an Ipod. Now, Apple is off and running, since they
developed utilities that would convert or else optimize both Windows and Mac Operating Systems
with little effort. Now we have a device that moved on in to revolutionary development, where will
it go next?
And, to frost the bitter cake, website owners are now marketing products while making software
programs that work on Apple's Ipod systems. We see a mimicking, making, marketing strategy
that is leading the companies into millions of dollars while draining the pockets of those that
cannot afford them, yet want the mini devices anyway. In fact, this brief information became
evident at what time Apple made the third generation Ipod. The market danced around naked as
the Ipods sold millions of copies. The fourth generation took over thereafter, and then came the
fifth generation video Ipod photos. Still, we can see a sixth generation in the making.
