Using Your IPods As An External Hard Disk
Using your iPods as an external Hard Disk:
Ipods are the newest creation that is taking computers into a different reality. The population is fascinated by
Ipods, since these devices enable them to play their favorite tunes, watch videos, view images, store files,
and more. The users can do this while moving, sitting, standing, or walking. What more could a person ask
for when everything is there in the palm of your hands. Ipods can do many things. For instance, you can
store files on the device, and play music, watch videos, and the like, or else transfer your files onto a
computer or DVD. It's a simple miniature storage medium with a windowpane similar to a computer, and
includes videos-audio hardware, and a case. The standard pods include hard drives, which are the smallest
drives ever, and will shuffle through files by using memory chips. The advantage is that you can load up files
onto this device, take it to your workplace, and unload them to your computer, especially if it is for important
business.
You will need to adjust the settings however. You want to adjust the settings to I-Tunes and Ipods
preference to match, then you can drag your files to and from the Ipod with ease.
Setting Up your iPod (full-sized or mini)
After connecting your iPod to your computer's USB Port, the I-Tunes window will pop up mechanically. At
this moment, you merely click on the iPods icon in the sourcing list and then click on the Options tab. This
will open the iPod tabs located in I-Tunes preference area.
If the pod is set properly it will manage your songs manually at the play lists area, and will store the files
wherever you choose to situation them as commanded. You can merely drag your files to Ipod. You can
drag them to Windows Explorer also, or drag them onto your desktop. You will need to employ the Enabling
Disk by using Settings to synchronize your files, if the synchronizing process was not completed. You can
verify this process by selecting preferences in the Ipods displaying window.
Setting up the iPod shuffle
If you own a Shuffle pod be aware that you do not have freedom to employ lots of space, since data storage
on this device is critical. Allocation for data files must be preset, since audio files cannot store on this space
area. You can use I-Tunes to set the space limits.
Setting your Ipod Shuffle to disc, you will need to open the I-tunes window, click the icon labeled Ipod, and
select the options preference in the windowpane. Peek into the Enable Disc Usage area, and move the
sliders to disc space settings of choice to determine file space. The sliders will illustrate how many hits you
can store. You will see to the left of the pane the number of storage, while to the right you will see the space
numbered for files.
Copying Files to and from your iPod
If you want to copy files to your Ipod, drag the files onto the icon labeled Ipod. You will see this icon in the
Windowpane of Explorer. Use My Computer icon if you are dragging files to your computer. At what time you
employ Ipods hard discs, you can copy files to any device compatible with the Ipod. You can only play songs
on your Ipod and hear the sounds if you have utilized I-tunes library. However, you can utilize the iPods
functions to transfer music files between computers, such as when you want to copy an i-Tunes library from
an old computer to a new one.
