Stand-up Routines On HBO - HBO Comedians

Whilst HBO is recognized as the movie central over cable television, comedy specials also earn slots in this channel and one of the highest rated at that. HBO previously housed "In Living Color", which gave high opportunities for aspiring comedians to be viewed by millions of households – and producers – in the United States.

One of the HBO comedians, Ellen Degeneres' 35-city stand-up comedy tour, "Here and Now" was covered and shown on HBO on June 28, 2003. "Here and Now" received two Emmys nominations including Outstanding Individual Performance In a Variety or Music Program and Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Ellen DeGeneres' has such a distinctive voice (she was Dory, the fish with extreme short-term memory in the animation "Finding Nemo") embracing daytime television with her "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" now in its third season. This show has won nine Emmys to date.

Richard Lewis stars in HBO's "Curb your Enthusiasm" along with other HBO comedians Larry David, Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin and Susie Essman. Richard Lewis is among the HBO comedians who started their comedy careers doing stand-up routines and currently is leading a brilliant career as a comic as well as a compelling persona. Mel Brooks once said of Richard Lewis as the Franz Kafka of modern day comedy. Jeff Garlin, meanwhile, is from Chicago, Illinois playing as Jeff Greene, manager of Larry David in the show.

Also shown on HBO is Dane Cook's Tourgasm, starring Dane Cook, Gary Gulman, Jay Davis, and Robert Kelly. The show is a comedy/documentary confined to the life of Dane Cook touring on his bus together with fellow stand-ups. Cook's stand-up routines are considered observational relating about past humorous incidents and commenting on them.

Baron-Cohen Sacha is the inventor of Ali G - the satirical character who thinks he represents "gangsta" culture and lives in 36 Cherry Blossom Close right in the midst of Staines Ghetto. Staines is a middle-class suburb in London and the worse version of an American mid-city ghetto. He currently plays the main character "Da Ali G Show" that features other HBO comedians Borat Sagdiyev and Bruno.

The HBO comedians behind Russell Simmon's Def Comedy Jam's last finale: Joe Rodney Perry, Guy Torry, Deon Cole and Kenny Howell. This show, by the way, helped launch the comedy careers of Hollywood's current comic cream of the crop Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac, and Cedric the entertainer. Hot comic actor Mike Epps hosts the show.
