Satellite Radio

Satellite Radio Provider

If necessity is the mother of invention, then the need for a limitless and wider range of music genres and uninterrupted programming must have pushed for the invention of satellite radio. No wonder the commodity is selling like hot cakes and is fast becoming a household name.

Satellite radio has defied the limits of broadcast radio. It goes beyond the boundaries and has proven that it is a better technology and a better option. Today millions of Americans have switched loyalty in favor of satellite radio.

A satellite radio provider is responsible of bringing satellite signals to satellite radio receiver installed in homes and cars. Satellite radio provider gives subscription to end-users for a corresponding fee. It allows subscribers to listen to any music genres from hundreds of channels. No matter where you are in the mainland U.S. listening to your favorite channel will always be fun and exciting. Unadulterated music is what you will get and enjoy.

XM is a satellite radio provider in the U.S. today. It has launched two Boeing HS 702 satellites named “Rock” and “Roll” placed in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO). It also has another one satellite ready to be launched anytime just in case the two satellites failed to work.

XM has a radio ground station that transmits signal to both satellites after which it bounces back and captured by radio receivers. This satellite radio accessory deciphers the signal and converts it to the music that we listen to. Other than that satellites radio reviver is capable of decoding other data like title of the song and the name of the artist among others, which you will never get from a broadcast radio. With broadcast radio it is the disk jockey (DJ) who does the introduction of the song and its artist.

XM Satellite Radio has made an arrangement with Pioneer, Clarion, Sony, Delphi Delco, Alpine, and Motorola to manufacture XM radio units for cars. Two car manufacturers namely General Motors and Honda have poured in huge investment in using XM radios for their selected car models. Listening to music without any interruptions even through interstate is now made possible.

Sirius is also satellite radio provider. Its satellites are coursing through an elliptical path. This is to ensure that the satellites can work 16 hours per day all over United States. Sirius has not three working satellites transmitting signals to ground while the fourth one is being readied in case one of the three satellites is not working.

Sirius has car radios for sale and ready for installation. It also has home entertainment facility and some portable satellite radios. Other satellite radio accessories are also available to complete the whole set.

XM and Sirius are racing neck and neck to own the largest share of the market. When another player enters the satellite radio arena, it will be an exciting competition to look for wad to which always give the end-users the most benefits.
