Charcoal, Or Gas BBQ Grills?

If you're thinking of purchasing a new BBQ grill, there are many things to take into consideration. The biggest question you have to ask yourself is which type to buy – gas or charcoal. The debate about which one is best has gone on for many years, and will continue to go on long after you read this article. Each has its benefits and it's disadvantages. We'll try to look at a few of these below to help you decide which one is better for you.

Benefits of Gas BBQ Grills

Gas BBQ grills have several benefits that make them an attractive choice. The first would have to be safety. There seems to be less accidents involving gas BBQ grills than with charcoal. They are also much cleaner and easy to clean than charcoal grills. There is no dealing with the dust and grime that comes with handling charcoal. One of the most popular advantages of using gas BBQ grills is that they are easier to use.

All you need to do in most cases is turn on the gas and press the igniter and you're on your way. There is also no smoke to deal with when cooking with a gas BBQ grill. They're are also more forgiving than charcoal grills because you can regulate the heat better for more precise cooking. Charcoal grilling is more like cooking over a campfire where it's easier to over or under cook your food. You can also start cooking as soon as you turn it on instead of waiting around for it to heat up like you would with a charcoal grill.

Benefits of Charcoal Grills

Probably the biggest advantage that charcoal has over gas BBQ grills is the taste of the food. This is because of one of the reasons we listed above for the gas grills. The smoke that is produced by charcoal gives the food a distinct flavor that many people enjoy. However, some people complain that food cooked on a charcoal grill often tastes like lighter fluid.

Charcoal grills are often smaller and more portable than gas BBQ grills, which makes them better for taking along on camping trips and other outdoor activities. In the end, it doesn't matter what anyone says about either of these grills, the choice is yours. Basically, it will be a matter of personal preference and what type of cooking you will be doing. Either one will add to the overall experience of your outdoor activities.
