Simple Gourmet Recipes

Gourmet food is thought to be elaborate culinary masterpieces. If you have to partake of such meal, you're sure you will be paying a lot for it.

However, preparing gourmet food can be simple. Yet they can still tickle your palate.

Here are some mouth watering gourmet recipes that you can try. They're so simple that you can prepare them yourself.

The first gourmet recipe that you can make is from award winning actress Cynthia Nixon. It involves a cup of kosher salt, 2 cups of cherry tomatoes, a cup of vodka and toothpicks. All that needs to be done is to give each guest five or so of the tomatoes. Guests will dip the tomato into vodka, then into kosher salt. It is that simple!

Here is a simple gourmet recipe from actress Fran Drescher. She calls it Simple Healthy Soup. You would need a 10.5 ounce can of tomato soup, 150 grams of extra firm organic tofu, 1 fistful of baby spinach and 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese. Prepare the soup according to the instructions. While the soup is cooking, cut the tofu in small cubes and add to the soup. Add the baby spinach. Let the soup simmer for a few more minutes. The soup should be served in deep bowls with grated Parmesan cheese on top as garnishing.

Another simple gourmet recipe is called Corn Pudding. It is a recipe handed down from generation to generation in bridge player Michael Rosenberg. For this gourmet, you would need 2 large eggs, 1 can creamed corn, 1 can regular corn, 8 ounces of sour cream, half a cup of butter and 1 box of corn muffin mix. Mix all the ingredients together and spread it in a greased baking dish. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour and it's done.

Simple gourmet recipes are not limited to appetizers, soups and salads. Here's a main course recipe from Sarah Jessica Parker. All that is needed is a whole 4 pound chicken, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, crushed fennel seed and other spices you can think of. First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Get rid of the giblets and the guts of the chicken. Wash and pat dry the chicken. Rub the interior of the chicken with a generous amount of kosher salt. When that is done, put together some kosher salt, cayenne pepper, crushed fennel seeds and spices. Rub the mixture evenly over the exterior of the chicken. When that is done, put the chicken, breast side up, on a V-shaped rack. Roast the chicken in the oven for approximately 1 hour and 12 minutes.
