How To Use A Wine Opener Properly

There are so many people out there who are drinking wine on a regular basis but who are actually not even aware that they are not opening the wine correctly. There is a certain way that you are supposed to open wine with your wine bottle opener, and so to make sure that you are using your wine opener correctly from now on, these are the rules that you are going to want to follow.

Opening Your Wine

So you have your wine opener, and now you want to open the bottle of wine. Whether you are just doing it for yourself or you are in front of a large group of people, you are going to want to make sure that you are opening your wine correctly, to make sure that you are not going to waste any wine or make a mess.

Now to start you are going to take the corkscrew and you want to use the blade of it to cut the foil or plastic that is covering the wine cork. Just be careful, especially if this is your first time using a wine opener to try and open wine, because the last thing that you want is to end up with a nasty cut.

Now you want to close the blade and if there is any spillage at the top of the bottle of wine, you can wipe off the cork with a moistened napkin. This is going to help remove not only any drips that may have managed to get out, but as well any dirt that may have accumulated on the cork before you got the chance to open it.

Then you open the corkscrew spiral which is going to be the twisty part that is actually go into the cork and act as the wine opener. You hold the wine bottle at the neck with whatever hand is not your dominant hand, and make sure that you hold it tight. Then you twist the corkscrew in right down the middle, and remember that one of the most common mistakes people make when opening wine is they do not let the spiral go in far enough and this can end up tearing the cork when you go to take it out.

Learning how to open wine with a wine opener can definitely be a bit intimidating, but after a bit of practice you are going to find it as easy as riding a bike and you are going to impress all of your friends.
