Perfume Creation At Home

With the cost of items like perfume rising quickly each year, many people have turned to perfume creation at home. This process is not as difficult as you may think and by following some simple instructions, you can engage in perfume creation that creates unique products that you can enjoy at any time. It is important that instructions are followed correctly to avoid creating a product that could cause health issues or allergic reactions in the people living in or visiting the home.

Purchasing Ingredients For Perfume Creation

Most types of perfume are made following a simple formula that is easy to replicate. The best perfume contains mostly alcohol combined with essential oils, herbs, and/or other scenting items like flowers or dried fruits. The essential oils and alcohol can generally be found in craft stores and some hobby shops while the other ingredients can be purchased at grocery stores or mass merchandisers that carry a wide variety of products.

Creating The Product Scents

Producing the perfect scent on the first try of perfume creation is nearly impossible, but it does not cost a lot of money to experiment with some small batches of perfume to see what combinations you like the best. The more options that you experiment with, the greater the chance you will find a combination that you like. For small batch perfume creation, you should only use a small amount of the alcohol with a few drops of oil and a small amount of other ingredients. After the perfume has been allowed to set for the proper amount of time, the product can be places on absorbent paper or dabbed on the skin and allowed to remain for at least one-half hour so that you can see what the actual scent of the product would be.

It is important to keep track of exactly how much of each ingredient went into each product during perfume creation so that if you discover a combination that you really like, you will be able to duplicate it in the future. There are also a number of different websites on the internet that can guide you towards some different scent recipes that you may find pleasing. These recipes will often contain a number of different ingredients in each combination, which may seem strange at first but will go together well. Some people use these recipes as a starting point for creating their own unique perfume creation that can be more complex than the combinations that they would have thought of on their own.
