The History Of Invicta Watches

There are many watch companies that start out small. But that does not mean that they are losing to bigger companies. In fact, some smaller companies are at par with bigger ones.

The Invicta Watch Group is an example of this. The name “Invicta” is Latin for invincible. And they are true to their word. This once small company has now become a major competitor in the watch making industry.

This small company began in 1837 in La Chaux de fonds, Switzerland. During that time, Swiss watches were quite expensive. The company’s founder, Rapahel Picard, envisioned good quality Swiss watches that were modest in price.

The company then made their own watches. For more than a century, they have been producing mechanical and quartz watches of excellent quality. But in the early 1970’s, Swiss watches’ sales went down. The downward trend did not exclude Invicta watches and the company dissolved.

But in 1991, Invicta made a comeback. They stuck to their original principle: to provide the public affordable Invicta watches that are at par with the finest Swiss made watches but priced at a modest cost.

In 2004, the Invicta Watch group became firmly established as one of the leading Swiss watch manufacturers.

Invicta watches are known for their excellent quality. Invicta watches use top brand materials such as beautiful sapphire crystals and they come with manual and automatic movements, and uniquely designed cases.

As more Invicta watches are being manufactured and sold, so did the company’s watch making expertise. After moving its key production site to L’Abbeye, Switzerland, they further improved their techniques in production and quality control. The company has a lot of achievements such as the formulation of a way to make skeletonized movements or the development of a unique gold layering technique.

In 2000, Invicta designed and released one of their most sought after product line, the Lupah Swiss Chronograph. Each watch that belongs to this line has 4,600 full cut diamond hands set in stainless steel settings. This product line is the crowning achievement of the Invicta and shows the prowess of their workmanship.

More unique Invicta watches have been produced over the past few years. The perfect examples would be the Subaqua Noma and the Limited Edition Ocean Ghost. The Noma features a genuine meteorite dial acquired from pieces of the Gideon Meteor. The Ocean Ghost is manufactured with an 18 karat gold case and has a movement with a unique titanium based alloy. This makes the watch very tough.

Truly, Invicta watches are great value for your money.
