GAMBLING Leading To Addictions

GAMBLING Leading to Addictions

Gambling addictions is becoming a major problem, yet gambling addiction is not an unfamiliar problem in our society. While some people are blaming gambling casinos for leading to addictions, the fact is at one time cards were the only source of entertainment for people, and this entertainment leads to addictions.

Addicts of gambling will often strive to take hold of money, yet this is not the only element that makes them an addict. Gamblers have impulsive, compulsive and obsessive disorders that enforce them to use gambling as an escape mechanism. Gambling addictions go back a long way, and targets all areas of the world.

To consider addictions of gambling we will look at a few of the symptoms. Most symptoms start out vaguely, i.e. it is less obvious to others that an addiction exists. The person might gamble randomly, and over time increase his occupation in gambling. Gamblers addicted to the games will often feel the need to wager more cash on a game, especially when they win a low amount of money. Gambler addicts will feel irritable or restless, especially when the person is trying to stop his habit. The addicts will give chase to losses, while losing control of their senses, and will uptake their gambling habits regardless of the consequences.

When a person is an addict of gambling they often lose financially, endures legal troubles, or they might lose their family or job. Gamblers frustrated with their addiction and inability to control their obsessions may even commit suicide to escape the problems.

Gambling addictions are increasing, and according to statistics, more than two and one half million people are addicted to gambling. In some areas, around five percent of the people experience problems with gambling, thus the estimation has soared above the statistics of that of cocaine addicts.

Gambling causes various influences to arise, including emotional excitement, increasing of heart rates, and dissociation. The affects give the person the same type of high that common drugs give off.

Gambling can initiate as a pastime where the person bids on horses, races, poker, etc and can lead to gambling addictions. Once the person begins winning a few dollars the emotions are excited, which leads the person to believe that more money is in the making.

Who has gambling problems?
Many people have gambling problems and it is not centered on one group of people. Politicians, officers, religious leaders, poverty-stricken souls, etc could have a problem or addiction with gambling.

Gambling involves an escape from reality, or else a vision that is out of reach. Gambling is not only a risk; the act causes occurrences that lead to final decisions, which the outcome is delusional of senses, affecting certainty and sometimes death. Gambling forms an exhilarated feeling, which leads to flight of the imagination.

One man gambled on the pool table, and after making gambling parties mad, one day while walking down the street he was shot. Five years later, this person died as a result of the bullet. Another person gambling on the pool table got into various fights and arguments and nearly lost his life. As you can see, gambling addictions reach further than common casinos.

Another incident occurred when one man became angry over a card game and the man filled with angry emotions pulled out a shotgun and shot a man point blank range. Not only do we see that gambling addictions reach further than casinos, we see that gambling addictions can lead to murder and/or death.

If you believe you have a gambling problem, it is wise to stay clear of casinos and lottery stations. This will help you avoid the urges. You can also ask friends and family for support to deal with your impulses, compulsions, and obsessions. One of the better highs in life comes when you have earned your way through life, and that you earned your success by working hard. Never give up there is always help!
