If this therapy works for the patient they will have to continue, taking maintenance shot every once in awhile for 3-5 years to reduce the risk for the allergies returning. While taking the therapy, it is recommended that you continue to take your other allergy medications as usual.

Once the treatment is finished and if it works for them the patient is usually relieved for 3 years or more. If and when the allergies return, they are usually more on the mild side. Some people need treatment longer however.
