The amount of time in which an anxiety panic attack lasts tends to vary, but on average they usually last about twenty minutes. Some people get them mainly when they are traveling – especially when they are on a plane – while others will get them even when they are just watching television!

For those people who suffer from panic attacks, the most important thing to know is that they can be treated with a combination of therapy and medication. The therapy is designed to talk out any underlying problems that might contribute to the stress you have been feeling. The medication is designed to treat the chemical imbalances in your brain that cause your body to have the panic attacks.

However, it should be noted that once you embark on the path of getting your panic attacks treated, the panic attacks will not go away overnight. Rather, it will take a couple of months for your medication to be adjusted to the correct and safe dosage for you.

After that period of time, you will notice that little by little, your panic attacks will stop happening, until you reach the point that they happen very rarely, if at all. Your sense of confidence will return, and you will feel so much better!
