Factors That Contribute To An Anxiety Disorder

Before treating an anxiety disorder, one must know why one has it. There are many different factors that contribute to an anxiety disorder and these may not be actually the root causes of the disorder but only the effect. Stress is one primary factor that can trigger anxiety attacks. Treating anxiety disorders can be as easy as eliminating stress in one's life. Since eliminating stress in one's life is a near impossibility due to elements beyond our control, the next best thing to treating anxiety disorders is to have a plan of action when an attack occurs. Addressing the stressful situation can be one way of treating an anxiety disorder. The way one will address this attack is up to you or dependent on the recommendation of a professional whom you will have consulted regarding your attacks.

Hormonal changes in one's body are another factor that contributes to an anxiety attack. Some hormones, when triggered, releases amounts of adrenaline in the bloodstream thus accelerating the heart rate and elevating blood pressure as well. The rush of adrenalin can be good but in most cases of anxiety attacks, bad. Treating anxiety disorders based on hormones may need to be addressed with medication prescribed specifically for the individual. In some cases, the medication may be dangerous for one's health which may mean weighing the need for medication and the frequency that one uses it.

Treating anxiety disorders is important since these can sabotage self confidence and self esteem. One needs self confidence and self esteem to be able to properly socialize with others and to function well in the world as an individual. There are ways of treating anxiety and depression in which the patient has some form of control in their treatment while there are others, the more severe cases where the professional is given the control to manage the disorder. The individual with the disorder needs to be aware of it in order to be able to cope with the treatments.
