Arthritis is a condition affecting the joints causing them to become inflamed and the condition is very uncomfortable and painful. There are generally two kinds of arthritis namely osteoarthritis occurring in older people and is a degenerative joint ailment; the second is rheumatoid arthritis that affects not only joints such as finger joints, knees, hips, feet and so on but also muscles and tendons and other body tissues as well. Rheumatoid arthritis may be caused by emotional and physical stress, hormonal imbalance, injury, shock, severe fright and is the cause of the most common juvenile arthritis called juvenile Rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis has no cure but the severity of the condition can be greatly reduced by herbal treatment alternative forms of exercise that have medicinal effects on the body such as yoga and eating the right foods in ones diet for arthritis patients. It is important that one watch their diet for arthritis patients, foods high especially high in cholesterol, soda, starchy foods such as pasta, red meat and of course fast food restaurant food would aggravate, accelerate and make risk of getting arthritis very high. The reason being, that these food types cause a build up of toxins in the body and around the joints. Another risk from consuming such foods is the risk of being overweight which is also another cause and need for proper diet for arthritis patients.

Eating the right diet for arthritis patients can greatly reduce the pain suffered by people with the ailment. High grain foods such as brown rice and whole grain wheat as oily fish that are very high in vitamin E have advantageous properties; oranges, apples and strawberries also seem to have a pain reducing effect on sufferers of arthritis. Another good diet for arthritis patients is foods high in vitamin A and D can also help reduce the pain. Vitamin D can also be triggered in the body by exposure to the sun.

Other Alternatives

Yoga, which is an ancient form of combination of breathing and body exercise, make the body flexible helps in pain reduction. Other indigenous medicinal forms are plant juices that can be used in the diet for arthritis patients and greatly benefit them. One such is made by extracting juice from organically grown potatoes still with the skin on and mixing it in a fifty by fifty ratio with water. Other juices that are a good diet for arthritis patients can be made from plant extracts can be made with dark green leafed vegetables and garlic, fruit juices especially pineapples and those rich in citrus are also very beneficial. Ultimately good diet is very important for and be practiced by everyone.
