Some people experience what is known as secondary high blood pressure. Doctors do not seem to know what causes this type of high blood pressure. Nonetheless, a few factors are believed to contribute to primary high blood pressure. One is age. The chance of you getting high blood pressure is said to increase with age. This is because as you age, you develop arteriosclerosis, a condition where your arteries harden and stiffen. This results in blood pressure increase. Family history as well as genetics is also believed to contribute to hypertension. There is a possibility of you developing hypertension especially if there is a history of it in your family.
