Smoking As A Chronic Bronchitis Cause

Chronic bronchitis is a respiratory condition that manifests in the inflammation of the trachea (windpipe) and in the small and large bronchi that lines the lungs. Finding out a chronic bronchitis cause can actually help people prevent or deal with the condition and its symptoms. Being able to pinpoint the chronic bronchitis cause can also help in treating the condition. Many people are under the impression that chronic bronchitis is contagious like acute bronchitis; this is actually false, unless the chronic bronchitis stemmed from acute bronchitis.

This type of bronchitis is called chronic because of the length of time it occurs in a person. Upon exposure to any chronic bronchitis cause, the individual may take some months before the symptom surface. For some, the symptoms manifest themselves long after exposure to the chronic bronchitis cause. The time of manifestation may actually depend on the degree of the exposure to the chronic bronchitis causes and how long the person was exposed to it.

Smoking And Its Dangers

As a chronic bronchitis cause, smoking is probably one of the major ones. Cigarettes and other smoking means can contain elements that do not actually disappear when the cigarette is lit up. Instead, these miniscule particles drift with the smoke and may be inhaled by the individual or others who are exposed to the smoke. It is those minute particles that can coat the windpipe and bronchi and cause the inflammation.

While cigarette smoke may not be altogether the only chronic bronchitis cause, the fact that it can be avoided should make prevention and treatment easier for any individual. Frequent exposure to irritants, pollutants and other particles that can contribute t the inflammation can aggravate the condition. While the inflammation may be controlled or managed at times, the presence of the particles coating the lungs may not be easy to take away.

There are others dangers brought about by smoking and it is not only a chronic bronchitis cause but also has a lot to do with heart disease, diabetes and other respiratory as well as circulatory conditions. As a chronic bronchitis cause, smoking can lead to fatality if left uncontrolled or unmanaged. It should not only be seen as a chronic bronchitis cause but also as a hazard to one's overall health.

At the first sign of some illness or ailment regarding breathing, it may be a good idea to consult a doctor. Since breathing and the respiratory system has a lot to do with our life, they should not be taken lightly nor taken for granted.
