Bifocal Toric Contact Lenses: How To Store Them

So you may already know where to go for your contact lenses and you know what kind you want to get, but did you know that one of the biggest mistakes that you can make is not storing your contact lenses properly? If you do not know how to properly store your bifocal toric contact lenses, they are just going to end up getting worn out and probably covered in bacteria as well.

You really need to be careful and very sanitary when you are keeping contact lenses, whether they are basic or colored bifocal contact lenses, or any other type for that matter.

To store bifocal toric contact lenses, there are a few steps that you are going to need to remember in particular, and which will help your bifocal toric contact lenses to really last.

How to Store Contact Lenses

To store your bifocal toric contact lenses, you want to know what you are doing from the second that you take them out of your eyes. Make sure that you always wash your hands and dry them before going anywhere near your eyes or contact lenses. Especially when you stop to consider all that you do in a day, it is pretty easy to see why this is a step that you do not want to miss out on.

You always want to start by removing the contact lens from your right eye first. Be gentle, and make sure that you use some removal solution before getting started. This is going to help by adding lubrication to the eye and making sure that it is as easy as possible to remove the lens from the eye.

Once you have removed both lenses, you want to rinse the lenses clean with water and as well with some of your cleaning solution, and then you add some of this solution to your cells holding the lenses, and close the lids. Make sure that you keep your bifocal toric contact lenses up and out of the way, especially if there are children or pets in the home.

Contact lenses are expensive and you don’t want to get them dirty or damaged, this is really important. Your contact lenses can last you for a long time, even months or years if you take proper care of them. Also make sure that you read through the instructions before storing in case there are added instructions.
