A Hot Topic Today: Can A Man Get Pregnant?

There have been some strange things that have happened lately in our world. This mainly comes as a result of a show that was aired by Oprah Winfrey. This question sparked controversy after a show on the Oprah Winfrey show which was based around the world's first pregnant man. It was a man named Thomas Beatie who was pregnant and appeared to be a man but that's not exactly the case.


For one thing, the man on the show was not actually a man. He started off as a female, a Hawaiian beauty pageant winner no less, and decided that he wanted to make the change from a female to a male. He had already started on hormone therapy to grow hair and lose his breasts, so he looked like a man but he still had the reproductive organs of the woman. They actually didn't need any help because Thomas still had the reproductive organs of his female self.


While Thomas had already begun taking testosterone and other hormones and had made almost a complete sex change, he still had the uterus and other internal organs of his female body. So people need to realize that men can't get pregnant, and while this may seem like that it's an entirely different case. This was one of the most talked about shows Oprah has ever does and it started a great deal of controversy. People started to argue over whether or not this is just too much for a child to handle or whether having the love of the parents is enough.


It was certainly a strange topic to see a man pregnant and one that made a lot of people start to question can a man get pregnant. The reason this can't happen is because the female reproductive organs are required in order to grow and bear a child. It's pretty amazing the amount of options that are available to people who want to have children. Even if both people in the partnership have fertility problems, there are some great routes that are available to them.


There is also the option of having a surrogate which is another person altogether that is used to bear a child for a couple. The technology available today is incredibly advanced and wonderful because it helps so many people out of troubled situations. It's quite impressive just how advanced technology is today and how it can help out with things like this. That way it's still actually the couple's baby but they are using the body of another to bear it because the woman may not be able to on her own.
