What Is The Best Treatment For Head Lice?

The absolute best treatment for head lice would be to kill all humans. Head lice have evolved on top of human heads – not dogs, not cats, but only people. Therefore, if you get rid of humans, you take out their only food source. However, the odds of this happening are nonexistent, so let's talk about the next best treatment for head lice.

Suffocating Liquid Agent

Not exactly James Bond, although you do have a license to kill head lice with this tried and true best treatment for head lice. Keep in mind that it doesn’t work for everybody, works best on teenagers and adults and needs to be repeated at least once in order to get the job done. You need patience and fairly good coordination. You also need to not let the sight of pathetically wriggling head lice freak you out.

In order to perform this best treatment for head lice, you need to get a nit comb, flea cob or as fine toothed a comb as possible. The teeth need to be fine in order to push out the nits. A normal comb's teeth are usually too wide. you also need paper towels and a bottle of the suffocating liquid agent. Keep in mind that this should be a thick liquid that is okay to be placed on your head for long periods of time.

The best treatment for head lice include various thick liquids include shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, body wash, hand lotion, baby oil, vegetable oil, massage oil, olive oil and Vaseline (which technically, is not a liquid, but who's nitpicking?) Despite what you may have heard, NEVER use motor oils, bleach or clothes detergent on your head. You will wind up worse off than if you didn't do a thing.

What You Do

You need to soak your head (literally) so that every strand of hair is sopping wet. This often drowns a lot of adult and just hatched lice. Get rid of the worst of the drips and then slather all of your hair with the best head lice treatment liquid agent you have in your home at the time. Keep it on for at least ten minutes. This should suffocate the remaining hatched nits.

Then, you need to comb out every centimeter of your hair. After every pass, wipe the comb on the paper towel, otherwise you compromise your best head lice treatment by placing the lice on other parts of your head. Then, you can rinse what's left of the best head lice treatment goop off of your head.
