Effective Headache Remedies

There may not be a headache cure, but there are definitely some terrific headache remedies out there that you can use to find relief of your headache pain.

One of the best headache remedies is use an ice pack. Anything cold really placed on the forehead will help relieve the pain of your headache. If you have throbbing temples, try using an ice pack or bag of frozen vegetables on your head or neck, and if you don’t have anything frozen to use you can always use a cold towel.

Acupressure has also proven to be one of the most effective headache remedies. One of the easiest ways to perform acupressure to relieve headaches is to lie on your back, put your hands on your head and use your thumbs to locate the depressions at the base of your skull. Then you want to press your thumbs in and slightly upwards towards the direction of your eyes, and press until you feel a comfortable pain.

Make sure that you do not press too hard because you can actually end up hurting yourself. Acupressure will work most effectively for headache pain when performed on a regular basis. Therefore you may want to perform acupressure each morning when you wake up, so not only will you get the best results but as well you will be left feeling energetic and relaxed each day.

Keep in mind that these are just a few of the many headache remedies out there that you can choose to try out. It usually takes headache sufferers quite a bit of trial and error before they actually end up finding a treatment that offers them the pain relief they are looking for.

There are also a few other things that you are going to want to keep in mind here. For one, food allergies are very commonly the cause of headaches, and so you will want to go to your doctor to take some tests and find out if you have any food allergies that you were not aware of.
