Anyone who has a problem with heartburn and even those who think that they may be developing one need to be aware that there are certain foods that cause heartburn and which need to be avoided. There are certain foods that cause heartburn and which should therefore be avoided as much as possible if a person has a problem with it. The foods that aggravate heartburn conditions may vary from one case to the next but there are some that always seem to be included. It is important that anyone with a heartburn problem takes the time to learn what their safe foods are so that they can exclude those that aggravate their condition from their diet.


Of all the different cuisines of food, Mexican should be avoided the most by people with heartburn. Most people associate spicy food with heartburn and so at least most people are aware that it can be dangerous to eat. Chili peppers and hot sauce and those sorts of things are definitely not what a person should be eating if they have a problem with heartburn. There are lots of other foods that cause heartburn as well.

Most people do not mix well with either garlic or onion and it can aggravate heartburn conditions. If it does of course they will want to refrain from eating these sorts of foods and they should not have a problem with their heartburn in the future.


People need to be aware that everyone is different. Each person has their own list of safe foods and foods that should be avoided. Anyone who has a problem with heartburn is going to want to make a list of all their safe foods which are the foods that they can eat and of those that cause them to have heartburn and which should be avoided. Besides avoiding the foods that cause heartburn there are other steps that these people should be taking as well.


Exercising on a regular basis is important for people who suffer from heartburn. Avoiding bad habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol can also help because these are things that intensify heartburn in most cases. Not eating large meals is another tip that can help with heartburn. Heartburn can definitely be a difficult condition to live with but at least people know that there are ways to deal with their problem and start feeling a lot better.
