On Kidney Stones And Urinary Reflux

There are all sorts of conditions which plague the human body. One such condition would be that of urinary reflux, which could be caused by various urinary tract infections and in some cases, the prevalence of kidney stones.

Basically, urinary reflux talks about the condition where an abnormal movement of urine occurs, basically going on from the bladder into the kidneys or ureters. In normal cases urine travels from the kidneys through the pathways provided by the ureters to the bladder. In cases of urinary reflux, the urine direction is reversed, which cause problems in the whole urinary system, as well as generally affecting the body itself.

Urinary reflux is medically referred to as Vesicoureteral reflux, and stands to be a problem which often presents symptoms which run consistent with that of a urinary tract infection's condition. Also, when talking about urinary reflux conditions, Pyelonephritis, which is basically a type of bacterial urinary tract infection affecting the kidneys, is associated with urinary reflux conditions.

Kidney stones, which stand to be one of the more prevalent of urinary system problems, are also known to actually result to urinary reflux conditions, particularly the urolithiasis variety of kidney stone conditions, which refers to kidney stones situated in the ureters.

Kidney stones are not actual stones, but are rather crystal aggregations, or solid mass formations, found in urine. Typically, they exit the body as how urine is exited from the body, but once they grow in size, generally two to three millimeters, they stand to become "clogging" inducers, affecting the overall performance of a body's urinary system.

Kidney stones come in various sizes, as well as are composed of various materials. A kidney stone could be about as large as that of a grain of sand, or equal to the size of that of a grapefruit. There are different types of kidney stones, from the calcium oxalate crystals variety, to the uric acid variety of kidney stones, to name a few.

When talking about the various solutions and therapy practices geared to "take care" of kidney stones, the solutions range from medications, to the more surgical approach to kidney stone problems, to even home remedies geared to aid in getting rid of kidney stones.

Again kidney stones stand to be one of the many causes of urinary reflux, and not necessarily the cause for the prevalence of urinary reflux conditions in the world today.
