Tips For House Mold Removal

House mold removal is relatively simple but it involves a fair bit of elbow grease. It might also be very unpleasant work if you are at all allergic to mold and the allergens that mold can produce. For this reason you might not want to perform house mold removal on your own. It is important that you wear the proper clothing when performing house mold removal.

If you find yourself having breathing difficulties, eye irritation, or asthma attacks then you are experiencing a house mold symptom, and it might be best to have someone else get rid of the mold in your home.

Clothing And Equipment

The equipment and clothing required for house mold removal, you either already have it at home or it is pretty easy to find. The first step for house mold removal is to get some gloves and a mask. This well help minimize exposure to mold spores, however if you are allergic to mold and mold related allergens this may not be enough to spare you an allergic reaction.

A HEPA vacuum is the handiest piece of equipment to have when you are going about house mold removal. Isolate the area that needs cleaning closing all doors and windows and use the HEPA vacuum in the room or area that you are cleaning. Vacuum all surfaces, including the furniture before cleaning.

Next you will need to attack the area affected by mold. Natural solutions to a mold problem include citrus seed extract and vinegar. Citrus seed extract, sometimes referred to as grapefruit seed extract, and is probably the best solution as it is odorless. Fill a spray bottle with two cups of water and 20 drops of citrus seed extract, and then spray the area you wish to clean with the solution. Allow this to soak in before scrubbing surfaces, do not rinse the solution.

Household vinegar can also be used in house mold removal. Do not dilute the vinegar and spray it onto all areas affected by the mold. This solution is a little less popular because of the strong smell that vinegar has. On the upside you are guaranteed to kill at least 82% of the mold in your home with vinegar.

Killing mold is only part of the solution to a mold free home. You need to find anything in your home that is causing damp, and moisture to build up. Solving the humidity and dampness in your home is the best way to avoid anymore mold growing in your home.
