What Is Black Mold?

There are various types of mold out there, but one of the most dangerous by far is the black mold. This is one that you are going to want to take the most seriously and make sure that you watch out for. Black mold is a slimy, greenish-black substance that can cause serious health risk, especially if inhaled for an extended period of time.

Although virtually everyone has at least some sort of mold in their home, this is a type of mold that is quite rare. This does not mean that you don't want to watch out for it however, and in fact this should be one of the types that you watch out most carefully for. There are a few things in particular that you should be aware when it comes to black mold.

Symptoms

One of the most important things is to learn about what the most common black mold symptom is, so that if there ever is any of this growth in your home, you will be able to tell by the symptoms that you are experiencing and let your doctor know. Black mold is not something that you want to take lightly or just assume will go away on its own.

Rather, you are going to need to get in and see your doctor to make sure that you are not at health risk and also have a home inspector come in and look at your home to make sure that all the black mold is removed properly.

There are several ways that they can go about this. They will probably start by assessing the risk of the mold. This means that they are going to check out your entire home to make sure that there are no other areas that the mold is growing in. They will then probably mist the mold with some water, which is the first step.

Then they are going to use the appropriate cleaner to go over the mold to make sure that it is completely gone. This is important because if you only use water, the mold is not going to be properly removed and will just come back, possibly even worse than it was to begin with.

This is a very important issue, one that really all homeowners should be aware of, because practically every home has at least some sort of mold that is growing in it. Be educated and you will be able to know when there is mold in your home.
