What Is The Best Pregnancy Test

If you think you are pregnant, whether it is planned or unplanned, chances are you are wondering what type of pregnancy test you should take. You might be confused by the countless different types of pregnancy tests available. There are digital tests, traditional tests, blood tests, ultrasound and the list goes on and on about how you can find out whether or not you are pregnant. However, while there is no best pregnancy test, there are some that are the best pregnancy test for your particular situation.

Home Pregnancy Tests

Home pregnancy tests can be the best pregnancy test for you in most cases. If you are healthy and think you are pregnant, there is no reason to go to the other routes before taking a home pregnancy test. This is the best pregnancy test in most cases because it is easy, relatively inexpensive, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home. However, there are a few different types of home pregnancy tests. You can have a traditional test that shows two lines if you are pregnant, and you can have a more modern version of the home pregnancy test that is digital and shows “yes” or “no” instead of possibly confusing lines. Either one can be the best pregnancy test for a healthy individual with no medical concerns except the possibility of being pregnant.

Blood Pregnancy Tests

A blood pregnancy test, however, might also be the best pregnancy test for you. Some women do not test positive on a home pregnancy test for many months. If this is the case, then perhaps you should talk to your doctor about getting a blood pregnancy test. A blood pregnancy test is much more accurate than a urine pregnancy test. This test will be able to accurately measure exactly how much of the pregnancy hormone is in your blood. A blood pregnancy test can also approximate how far along you are.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound is sometimes used to determine if you are pregnant, but more often than not it is used in the early stages for dating the pregnancy or determining whether or not the pregnancy is viable. If you are experiencing bleeding, clotting, or severe cramping isolated to one side, you need to discuss these symptoms with your doctor. He or she will most likely do an ultrasound to rule out the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy. If you have any of these symptoms, then this is hands down the best pregnancy test for you to have done.
