Men might be thankful that they don't cervix because they are spared from getting cervical cancer. But men have prostate, which might put them at risk of acquiring prostate cancer which women are so thankful too.

Prostate is a walnut-sized exocrine gland that is found just above the rectum and below the bladder as it surrounds the urethra at the same time. This gland is the one responsible on restoring and producing the clear substance that is a part of the secreted semen during ejaculation.

As man grows so does his prostate, which could undergo two stages of development. The first stage is during adolescent while the second stage could start when a man reaches the age of twenty-five. Cancer cells can affect prostate like any other organ in the human anatomy. The causes of the presence of malignant tumor are nit yet full understood, however the factors what might put men in great risk of acquiring prostate cancer are already named. Age is the widely recognized risk factor of prostate cancer. The other predisposing factors are diet, lifestyle race and genes.

The presence of any or all of the risk factors may well be the start that men experience prostate cancer symptoms. The symptoms of prostate cancer are not distinctively unique to prostate because others can also experience prostate cancer symptoms with other diseases but not prostate cancer.

The unusual frequency of urination might be one of the early prostate cancer symptoms. The patient will feel the urge to urinate especially at night coupled with tingling and burning pain when urinating. The patient might also feel difficulty releasing and controlling his urine. This is because the mass of tumor has affected the urethra thus it can no longer hold even small quantity of urine that it has to be released right away.

These prostate cancer symptoms that concerns anything about difficulty in urination are also common symptoms of other diseases like nephritic (kidney-related) diseases and other prostate related diseases like prostitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Other prostate cancer symptoms are pain in ejaculating, presence of blood in the urine or semen, and painful sensation in the pelvic and the lower back area near the hips and the upper thighs. These symptoms are also present in testicular diseases.

Once any of the symptoms are present or detected, a visit to a medical professional should be sought. While still in the very early stage, a course of treatment can be chosen which will suit with the patient's condition. The doctor may require several test to really find out if the symptoms lead to cancer or otherwise. Nevertheless it is still very important that an immediate is taken.
