Information On Certified Organic Skin Care Products

If you love everything organic, you probably already use or are thinking about using organic skin care products. You may think that anything labeled organic skin care product must actually be organic. The same is true with the organic aisle in the grocery store, right? Wrong! Here is some information to help you on your search for certified organic skin care products.

Government Regulations

As of now, there are very few government or state regulations on organic products. Some places have some regulations, but very few places have actual solid laws and rules on their organic problems. Almost anything can call itself organic if it follows a few easy guidelines. For example, a farmer can say that his chicken is organic chicken as long as they are fed organic food. However, what he will not tell you is that the chickens were raised and lived in one foot by one foot cages. With skin care, you might think that you are getting organic skin care products, but if it does not say certified organic skin care on the label, that just means that it is slightly better than products that do not claim to be all natural or organic.

Know What You Are Getting

The best way to get certified organic skin care products is to know what you are getting. If you look at the ingredient list of nearly any skin care product, your eyes might just bug out of your head! It can be hard to decipher all of the crazy ingredients on the back of the label. However, it is important to know what you are using if it is important to you to have certified organic skin care products. Some organic products will still have gibberish for ingredients, but that does not necessarily mean that they are not organic. So know the ingredients and what they mean and you will be on the right track to finding the certified organic skin care products you want!

Making Compromises

Sometimes the certified organic skin care products are extremely expensive. For many people, this puts them out of their financial reach. If you want to do what is best for the environment and for your skin but cannot afford organic, you can look for all natural products. In addition, you can also look for products that say they are not tested on animals. Both of these types of products, while shy of being certified organic skin care products, are still better for you and the environment in the long run.
