Less Is More - Sensitive Skin Care Product

A sensitive skin type is probably the hardest to treat. Ironically, it's also the skin type that needs the mildest attention.

Pampering a sensitive skin doesn't necessitate putting on so much combinations of cleansing products because it might be that the products you're using are the ones causing problems on your skin. A sensitive skin care product usually use mild substances formulated to eliminate irritations.

Among the sensitive skin care products available commercially is Cetaphil. This skin sensitive skin care product is especially formulated for sensitive skins and can be used even on newborns. The advantage of this sensitive skin care product is that it's very gentle. The disadvantage is that it's not very effective in removing make-up since it's too gentle. Nonetheless, most people with sensitive skin prefer this product. Cetaphil has an array of gentle cleansing solutions: a skin cleanser that costs $12.00 for a 16oz bottle, a cleansing bar in a 4.5oz size that costs $4.25, facial moisturizers, and lotions.

Another option for sensitive skin care product is Vanicream that also comes in a bar, moisturizers and sunscreen with SPF 35. The Vanicream sensitive skin pack has a retail value of $31.41.

Although it's not advisable to experiment on your skin, it goes well to find out about other options and then simply buy those you deem suit your skin type. Makers of NuCelle Rx with Mandelic Marine complex say this sensitive skin care product is recommended for people with a combination of oily to normal sensitive skins, or those who can't tolerate AHA's. Mandelic acid is a type of AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) with larger molecules that is said to penetrate skin more effectively and can be used in higher concentrations for those who want to achieve faster results. RoC, Neova, and Kinerase are formulated for dry to normal sensitive skin. It is fragrance-free and aids in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Should the need for a moisturizer arise, there are sensitive skin care products in moisturizers as well apart from those mentioned above, formulated to hydrate and nourish dry, sensitive skin such as SkinCeuticals Emollience, Cutanix Dramatic Relief, La Roche's Posay Tolerin products and LRS Lipid Recovery Serum. All products claim to be hypo-allergenic so it's up to you which brand seems to give relief on you sensitive skin. Otherwise, a visit to a dermatologist would also help in knowing what products are suited for you. Other than that, if irritation does persist, throw you sensitive skin care product in the bin and head for a new one.
