Understanding Organic Natural Skin Care

It is today generally accepted that natural skin care treatment is the best way for a woman to look after her skin. That's why more and more companies are coming up with organic natural skin care products. And why even mainstream traditional cosmetic manufacturers are adding an organic natural skin care line to their product range. This is a welcome move and indicates the growing sensitivity in the market of the dangers of using harsh chemicals and compounds which, while offering short term benefits, can cause long term damage to the skin.

But before you happily go off to the stores to buy yourself some organic natural skin care products, if you are not already using them, a word of caution is required. Often products that are marketed as being organic natural skin care are not what they appear to be. The item may contain some organic ingredients, which are highlighted in the packaging. But in many cases there will be other chemical ingredients that are part of the product. The temptation to mix organic and chemical ingredients is great since the chemical ones are usually far cheaper than the organic alternatives.

Organic Natural Skin Care Is Not Always Organic Or Natural

An organic skin care product that contains even one chemical component should not be used. There may be 10 natural ingredients that will help the skin, but the 11th, the chemical one, can undo all the good the organic ingredients did. And consider what it says about the manufacturer that is trying to pass off their part chemical based range as organic natural skin care? Are you sure you would trust products made by such a company? Many of these companies profited for years by selling chemical based skin care products and never worrying about the long term effects these would have. Now, with women becoming aware of the advantages of natural organic skin care, they are trying to hop on the bandwagon by attempting to disguise what they have to offer.

Keep in mind even some supposedly organic substances are not really so. Many "natural skin care" products use mineral oil and petroleum jelly as moisturizing agents. These are byproducts of the petroleum industry and are really just the diluted grease that is part of crude oil. Not exactly "natural."

The best thing to do is to learn about natural organic ingredients. These are vegetable and plant based oils, compounds and extracts. These have properties that are the nearest to the properties of your skin and so will not conflict with the natural composition of the skin. It's not always easy to find products like this, but it is definitely worth the trouble. Organic natural skin care will keep your skin looking young and glowing far longer and far more effectively than any chemical based skin care range ever can.
