Snore Snore

Why Do People Snore?

Snoring is a very common condition around the world, and both men and women suffer from it, although it is much more prominent among men. We all know what snoring sounds like and how annoying it can be, but do you know why people snore?

There are actually a few different possible reasons, one or more, that may contribute to the reason that a person snores. Mouth anatomy for one, plays a major role, as people who have a thick, low palate or enlarged tonsils or tissues in the back of their throat are much more likely to snore than those who do not.

Sleep apnea is also considered to be associated with the snoring condition. Sleep apnea is often characterized by loud snoring followed by periods of silence that can last up to ten seconds and even more. During this time the person is actually not breathing, which can be frightening but which is fine because they then return to breathing and never even realize that they stopped at all.

Treatment

If you snore, at least you can rest assured in knowing that there are some terrific treatment options available to you. Stop snoring aids are particularly popular because they have proven to be so effective. The snore pillow for instance may be able to help you not snore, and if you do snore this is one of the first treatments that you should try.

This pillow has been in the market for years now and was originally introduced to reduce symptoms of acid reflux disease. It was found, while people were using the pillow for acid reflux, that it also helped with snoring, and has received numerous appraisals from customers and doctors around the world.

The pillow is designed with a reinforced head and neck roll causing the throat to open the airway passage, and also features a wedge that elevates the torso even further, thereby relieving the pressure at the throat that causes the obstruction that results in snoring.

If you snore, no doubt you are frustrated and annoyed with your condition. And anyone else who sleeps in bed with you is probably feeling the same. This is why it is so important that you learn about the different treatment options that are out there and decide which is going to work for you. You may have to do a bit of trial and error before you can find something that works, but chances are that you will be able to find one that relieves or even completely eliminates your snoring problem.
