Why Natural Vitamin Supplements Are Better

When you shop for vitamin nutrition supplements do you pay attention to what product you are buying or do you simply purchase the first bottle you find? Do you use price to determine which supplements you buy, or are you more interested in quality? Many people buy their vitamin supplements without thinking too much about it. However some products are better than others and vitamin supplements are no exception. Some supplements are manufactured synthetically and chemically processed in a laboratory. By contrast natural vitamin supplements are derived directly from the source. For instance a natural vitamin C supplement might be derived from oranges or lemons. The question is whether or not there is any real difference between a natural vitamin supplement and a synthetic one.

The Price

If you compare and contrast synthetic and natural vitamin supplements the first difference that you will notice is the price. Natural vitamin supplements are more difficult to manufacture, hence they cost a little extra. On the other hand synthetic supplements can be made cheaply and easily in a laboratory. Given that the molecular structure of a synthetic vitamin is exactly the same as a natural one some people see nothing wrong with the man-made type. After all, why should we pay more if we don’t have to? Well if you want the best quality you should expect to have to pay for it.

Easier To Absorb

Natural vitamin supplements are often easier for the body to absorb than the synthetic variety. That’s because naturally derived vitamins often come with a co-factor. For instance all naturally derived vitamin C also has bioflavonoid and this substance makes the vitamin much easier to absorb. If a vitamin is not easy to absorb then some of it is expelled as waste and never reaches the cells, tissues and organs of the body. Why pay money for a product if half of it will eventually end up in the lavatory?

Peace Of Mind

Many people prefer to use natural vitamin supplements because they do not like the idea of putting any synthetic substances into their body. Synthetic vitamin supplements may have the exact same molecular structure as natural ones but they are derived from coal tar. Some people are therefore uncomfortable with the idea of ingesting them because they are worried that they may do more harm than good. Similarly many people refuse to eat processed food that contains artificial ingredients. Instead they prefer to eat whole natural foods and cook nutritious meals from scratch at home. Knowing that everything you put into your body is one hundred percent natural provides extra peace of mind.
